Ultra Edition 12.9 gets a touch of Calvin Klein

Samsung today announced, in a press release, the availability of the Limited Edition cK Calvin Klein Ultra Edition 12.9 handset, which will be sold exclusively through mobile operator M1 in Singapore. The phone is expected to sport the same features and design as the original Ultra Edition 12.9 slider, but will come preloaded with 2006 fashion wallpapers from the Calvin Klein's 2006 winter collection as well as a matching black leather pouch.

Those planning to get their hands on this limited Samsung slider should know that there will be only 1,000 units available on offer on our shores.
The Korean phone maker currently has no plans to release this phone anywhere else in the world.

i say about 1.5k anything over that is* overpriced... coz theres no 3g for this hp...(according to gsmarena) and by the time september reaches other 3mp cam hps already reach way below 2k (like n73 and k800)

i don't really think this phone can compete with the K800 and N73/N93 cuz Sony has their Cybershot technology and Nokia has Carl-Zeiss.. but then again.. they could just be there for marketing sake.. tongue.gif

from what i can see from the link pengster gave me.. both Nokia and Sony Ericsson's camera PWND Samsung.. laugh.gif

The plastic makes it very lightweight. It's about 10 grams lighter than the RAZR V3 and V3i~ The 3.0MP camera sounds good, but I've learned that thin phones result in jerky hands and fuzzy pictures. Looks good.

I have to agree with that, many people tend to compare only the megapixels and AF/non-AF but miss out a lot of other goodies about the camera-phone that can make a big difference when it comes to image quality.

Anyways, the phone does look cool. I've no interest in getting a samsung phone though

currently in black only.
i think its bcos this mobile is target more towards the Male markets,
so i think samsung wont come out with girly colours..
and it looks very "macho" to me also..

If you want a great camera, maybe it's wiser to get k800. Of course it's the first choice, but I compromised the camera quality for this size! It feels great with this phone, esp when you are wearing jeans. I love the feel of it, or rather you don't feel it's in your pants with this!

Any idea about the price of this baby?
I heard it's around RM1.8k right?

Anyways, have read a few reviews and most of them said the battery life is mediocre and the ringtone is too soft. So __kit how do you find the battery life?

In term of look it definitely pwns K800, but inferior camera and impractical battery life are something worth pondering mellow.gif

The battery life...well I didn't find much of a problem this one, coz usually i'll charge them every 2 days, and when you connect ur device via the USB, it charges too...so I don't find any problem wif that really

think so...

inferior cam? dun think so. even mobile-review states that it can compare to k800i and n73, though may lose a lil. A LIL i mean.

but its video recording quality definitely pwns k800i. u must watch the vids recorded using it! so stunning~~~

and it has the LIVING WORLD theme. very very innovative and nice. (lazy to describe here. wait for some1 else to describe it for u, or jus read the MR review for this stunning fon)

Yes the ringing tone is a bit soft...even if I put max...I missed a few calls because of that! tongue.gif

Otherwise, so far I really love the feel of this phone, very sturdy and slick.

I too have seen the review, although day time shots are comparable to K800, night shots are awful...Video recording doesn't really matter much to me

I need more LYN users to describe their experience, sometimes can't trust 100% on review. The price and design are attractive, but more importantly is it's practical to use and fit my needs thumbup.gif (especially the battery life, i know samsung don't have good reputation on it, but i need to know how many days it can last for normal usage - as in taking a few shots per day, SMS and calling time for 30 minutes)

Of course there's no obligation in sharing your experience with the community, but it's somehow a bit funny to say "oh this phone rocks! very very good! you won't regret! but im just too lazy to describe, go check it out yourself" sweat.gif well just my 2 cents, hope you don't get offended

So hopefully somebody more hardworking can help me? icon_idea.gif

played around with the D830 over the weekend. cheapest i managed to survey was RM1300 FMG set. aethestically the phone is astoundingly slim, even more so after you've flipped it open. an incredible achievement by samsung imo. it also feels pretty sturdy in your hands. however, the external screen is a major disappointment since its monochrome and very small.

the main display however is just brilliant. vivid colors and excellent contrast as always coming from samsung. the main letdown though has to be the keypad. the tactile feedback is terrible and very uncomfortable, i keep having to press the same key a few times in order for it to register. probably needs a lot of time and effort to get used to it.

the video player is quite cool, u can switch between portrait and landscape mode while watching. ringtones and mp3 r suitably loud.

Many sellers in LYN sell it for slightly below 1500

Even you get it from normal shop I think it won't go far from that. The functions are not really complete so I think the price is quite reasonable.

No. Those are not true. Other Samsung ultra uses 630mAh batteries, while this one uses a 800mAh one. For me, it can last much more longer than my old Samsung d500. While the d500 only last me 2 days max on minimum use, d900 can last me 3 days. Hope this helps.

As for the memory card, i am currently using Kingston 512MB. Other forums had confirmed that kingston 1GB doesn't work on d900, sandisk does, so get a sandisk one, sandisk is more recommended (but harder 2 find in my case).

no. the picture is nice. i've seen one forum on the net, the post lot of pictures. the picture is so nice. now i forgot already the add. someone with the phone can you please upload it.

Actually, it is not the pics that are lousy, they are just image processing. Nokia and SE tends to process the pics to have more contrast and colour, thus making the pics look nicer to us normal consumers, but the imaging pros at GSM Arena had stated that d900 tends to maintain the most detail out of the pictures with less processing. We can make the pics more colourful by editing it in PC anyways.

Though, one must have steady hands even when autofocus is on cause the phone is so light we tend to shake our hands when capturing image.

@ evilguy

3 days is the maximum with only a few sms occasionally... normal usage with some calls and quite some sms, abit of mp3, video and camera playing can last me 2 days normally. I've attached some pics for your viewing. :-)

but just notice in your calculator picture a sentence, "I enjoy learning chemistry" ?? rclxms.gif good to hear that word. so convincing.

but one thing for sure, this phone lcd is much better than k800i. yes, k800i is always being compared with this phone in term of functionality and look couse both has 3.2 megapixel cam.

The QVGA screen is just totally amazing it melts your heart. Just look at the crisp wallpaper and especially the videos. Excellent LCD! smile.gif Though just 2.1inch, its quite big when blended to the phone.

Macro mode quite useless la actually, cause if a camera got autofocus it will focus on very close objects automatically, but don't get TOO close lo, about less than 2cm, the focus won't work. smile.gif

yes agree wit you. it depend on how you snap your picture. if you really good in photography, using camera phone also can snap good picture. if i'm not mistaken the autofocus is diferent from SE phone. SE, you must push the shutter twice. but this phone just push once and wait till it focus and it automatically snap.

i'm going to get one soon.

Haha... sadly, :-( a price to pay for showing off latest phone. I bought it around the first few days when this phone was available in Penang, Mid August. By that time normal phone shops were quoting 1700 mostly, but i got it for 1620. :-) Butit was worth every bit though, cause other 3.2MP phones were way over that price. ^.^ a.k.a p850 or SE k800 (which is so huge but with 3G though)

U can set it to be limited for MMS or unlimited, which is then only limited by the phone internal memory. As for self message tones, so far no Samsung phones have that yet, but d900 is the first phone to support vibrate and ring at the same time. Totally awesome... thumbup.gif

so you mean that the phone can only take video recording depend on internal memory? so the video you take using this phone only can save into internal memory? why cant it save direct into memory card? conclusion is there is a limit to take video as it only can save into internal memory while it capture.

so you bought it in penang? where? FMG warranty right? what the price now? i also will go to penang this Raya holiday. planning to buy there if the price is low than here.

sorry for asking you to many question LiNKInPaRk108, couse since like only you bought this phone and keep posting here. smile.gif so it's you our source of knowledge for this phone biggrin.gif

In the meantime, all Samsung phones can only directly save photos and videos onto phone memory and only can transfer to memory card later. Ringtones and Caller ID all have to be saved in phone memory to work. I guess it's because we can hot swap memory cards anytime and make the phone go crazy if it's operating and we remove the card suddenly. I wonder what will happen if i'm playing mp3 from the card and remove it during playback. Haven't got the braveness to try that yet. However, Samsung phones always have big internal memory. smile.gif

I bought it in Penang from my friend's relative. FMG of course. Current pricing i'm not sure, but from what i had surveyed from time to time, Penang lowest prices are about rm50 more than the popular phone sellers in this Lowyat forum such as Amedion and clareen. So, its more expensive to say. smile.gif

@ lord

AFAIK, all Samsung Ultra colour models are limited editions. Some are only available in certain countries and some colours are even limited to only a certain amount produced. However, black is still the most elegant one among all models. Though, the design of the red colour edition d830 is amazing. smile.gif

never use samsung before. so i dont know that the phone only can save to phone memory 1st. i've used SE before. the phone can save directly to mem card. it also can hot swap the card. beside some say, if we are playing mp3 and suddently take out the card, the card wont damage. just the player will exit outomatically. this is for SE phone. samsung i'm not sure about it. i think you should experiment wit it rclxms.gif

i heard that this phone has trouble install java application. all java app must be download. if we try to transfer using BT and cabal, the app cannot use.

haih....it's really hard to decide. all phone has pros and cons. wink.gif cannot get phone that really suite my interest. what to say, i'm really a fussy person blush.gif

ALL samsung phones have a policy of not letting you install java games the official way. Though, there are always ways (enter specifc code and specific programs) for almost every samsung phone to transfer games through BT or cable to it. However, we need to have both JAR and JAD file and game compability is also an issue, as some games works and some don't. But glad to say that i have some links for d900 games (qvga 320x240 size) and the know how and had successfully transfered and played games on my phone for FREE! smile.gif Samsung phones also have limited JAVA space of around 4MB. As for the pricing, i'm not so sure. Din went out to survey lately. Sorry.

@nicholas84

Old samsung phones such as e700 will ONLY autosave sent msg. As for the later d500, when sending msg, the 1st option is to save and send, 2nd is send only. But for d900, the sequence is reversed, 1st option send only and 2nd send and save. I guess it is up to personal preference and phone companies can't do anything unless they let you specify which option you usually use. As for me, it is a good change as i don't usually save sent msg so d500 was troublesome for me and d900 suits me more. smile.gif

it's ok. i dont play java game much. however i do want to install some java program such as opera mini and other usefull app. but if i need to download all the program, it really troublesome using gprs/edge. the data servis by our telco is not cheap actually. maybe i will subscribe digi unlimited plan if edge connection is good/fast wit this phone.

i think automatic save for sent sms sometime troublesome. like SE phone, it automatic. however if your sms reach it's limit, you have to manually selected which sms you want to delete. imagine 200sms!!!. other option is to delete all the sms. as LiNKInPaRk108 said we can select wheter want to save or not our sms. for me i think it is better that way.

nop, you cant transfer games n jave app using cable. that is what i've read from somewhere. better clarify with LiNKInPaRk108.

which area do you live? what's the price in your area?
*
im at pj area...i havent checked out the price yet...lazy..lol..bcoz if i buy most prolly i'll buy from lyn members...my fren's bf is selling hp but dunno whether he has samsung or not...

@ evilguy, lord

Sorry.

@nicholas84

As for me, it is a good change as i don't usually save sent msg so d500 was troublesome for me and d900 suits me more. smile.gif
*
ooo...macam tu....i think the sms thingie is ok for me bcoz i seldom have serious talk on sms...mostly crap...important 1 then will save it..

It was one of the phones that I wanted to buy, but ended going for SE K800i

It has good size and slider form factor, build quality is great too. But functional wise it's worse than its Nokia and SE counterparts (N73 and K800i, respectively)

I'm considering to buy this D900 coz the way it looks. It is so different. How I wish the overall function could match SE and Nokia. I've been using k700i for quite sometime now. Not to mention, a SE fanboy. tongue.gif

If I got other choice, the upcoming w850i would be my pick. But it look too soft and the rounded keypad looks so childish.

N series? An all rounder. But it's a Nokia. Nokia = mainstream (no offence.. personal preference).

My dream phone equation = nokia (functionality) + SE (brand) + Samsung (looks)

hmm, quite a lot to name actually.
- 3G (as you said)
- Camera (Major difference is here I can say - although both are 3MP, k800i is admittedly better with bestpic and xenonflash just to name a few)
- Battery life. If you only enable GSM but not 3G, it can easily last 3-5 days under normal usage. I've been using my phone for whole day (one call, around 10 SMSes, took a few pics and navigated around) and it hasn't drop a single bar yet (91%)
- Radio
- Support USB 2.0 instead of 1.1
- Has speaker phone mode

of course I'm not saying that K800i pwns D900 badly just because I own one. There are something that K800i lack of, but available in D900
- Document viewer (PDF, words etc)
- TV output
- Slider form factor, lighter ,and thinner!

owh.. man if that your dream phone, sure you a lot fussy than me smile.gif actually i'm use to SE too. Use w800i for a while. i have dificulity to choose between this samsung and k800i.

what i like about d900
1. slim look
2. bright lcd compared to k800i

what i dont like
1. suspicious about the battery performance
2. no 3G

what i like about k800i
1. the camera
2. 3G

what i dont like
1. the design not nice, bulky
2. a lot heavier than d900

see... the pros and cons a equal. that is why i still in dilema unsure.gif

Let me clarify here that D900 indeed has speakerphone.

@ evilguy

All i can say is D900 battery life is longer than other Samsungs that i had used. Previously they are on the average near below 2 days. D900 lasts near above 2 days. Though, the screen is so bright i only set the brightness to level 2 and it is more than enough for me.

If you want the 3G model then wait for December as another 3 3G Ultra models will be coming to the market. I had mentioned this in the Ultra 9.9 topic.

@ lord

Definitely can use mp3 as ringtones. Samsung only limits 2 things all the while, only default sms tones and only vibrate then ring on calls. D900 has taken away the 2nd limitation and i think it's only awhile later that the sms tone limitation will be unblocked soon.

actually i dont need 3g yet now. so this samsung is enough for me actually. the sms tone also i dont really bother about it. i going to make up my mind to buy this one. smile.gif after raya maybe. k800i is good phone but the size... haih. dont really like bulky phone.

i think we should listen to LiNKInPaRk108 explanation about battery life since he used to samsung phone. maybe we, (i mean me sweat.gif ) never use samsung before. that's why so berhati-hati one. as old man said "not know then not love" tongue.gif english version of the malay pepatah.

Well, this phone's selling point is its sleekness and thinness.. that's all.

If only E900 can be this thin...

Oh my god the CK box in d 1st post is kinda cool... >.<

@ evilguy

Tuesday's Star newspaper InTech reviewed that k800i can only last for 2 days on normal use and 1 day on hardcore usage... OMG... If this is really the case then glad to say that D900's battery life is much more better! Cheers!

@ starbox

Almost all people say that k800's camera is way better than Samsung's. But i don't see much difference... Probably cause i'm not a hardcore camera user. Maybe it's the Cybershot logo that brain-washed people. But i gotta say that SE has more camera functions, though samsung lets us tweak things such as ISO that i think SE doesn't have. Correct me if i'm wrong. The bad side of d900 is that we have to hold the phone very still for a few seconds (around 2-3) in order to focus and capture the pictures, otherwise it will be blur. This is not good for spontaneous shots i'd say.

of course you can buy spare battery. but you still have to charge it. it is troublesome to keep open your casing and switch battery to charge. i heard that the battery cover is so hard to open.

the camera can be said 2nd compare to k800i. low light condition, this phone canot take good picture couse it dont have flash like k800i. The price is about rm1470 - rm1599

really k800i battery is that bad? hard to believe. someone from k800i forum surely will deny this statment biggrin.gif i think all the pros and cons is subjective. some say this and some say that. i really cant rely 100% on them we must try it ourself. but to try we have to buy it tongue.gif

is the ISO tweak is realy good for d900? i also not a pro photographer. but i like to take picture. what ISO setting should we choose to take good picture? how about the night mode setting fo d900? got lot of noise or not?

Ya the batt cover takes forever to open, as much force is needed and we don't wanna break this phone apart. Opening regularly is not recommended. For total darkness, the camera flash can only take bright pictures from a range of less than 50cm. ISO is just settings to tweak about. I usually set it to auto. As for night mode noise, i didn't really looked into it. Try looking at comparison review pics online.

The phone uses MicroSD (T-flash)

BTW, I tried the display unit this tuesday, and I've to give a thumb up on the sliding mechanism. Really feel good using the slider and the display of the phone is very clear and nice

you know what... after all i want to buy d900. however the reason that make me change my mind last minute becouse my friends told me a story about his friend using samsung phone. he said his friend bought samsung phone and it always rosak after a year. that person buy 3 samsung phone in the last 3 year and all of them rosak. not totally malfunction. but some minor rosak like speaker become slow, lag and other minor2 stuff.

seem like it hard to believe. i also dont know how i believe such a rumor. maybe due to satisfaction in SE phone i used before. that is why it is so hard for me to jump to samsung phone. but as i said, i really love d900 even though i dont have it smile.gif

Samsung makes great sliding mechanism and crisp screens.

Ur fren's prob seems 2 b firmware related 2 me. However i witnessed hardware probs. From experience, it's QUITE true. However, i don't know whether is it i'm just plain lucky, but flagship phones tend to last longer. The most fragile part is the flexi-cable inside. My flip e700's (flagship) screen gave problems abt after 2 yrs. Mom's slide e800's speaker starts 2 b troublesome after abt 1 yr caused by d cable. Bro's e760's keypad starts 2 hav probs nearly after 1 yr. Thankfully my d500 (flagship) was perfectly fine after more den 1 yr except for a more loosened sliding mechanism.

What is so special about the cK edition other than the box (which you don't carry it with the phone usually), the pouch and also the pre-set wallpapers (which you can find it easily)? It's like doing free advertisement for cK only

What is so special about the cK edition other than the box (which you don't carry it with the phone usually), the pouch and also the pre-set wallpapers (which you can find it easily)? It's like doing free advertisement for cK only
*
i dont see and different between those CK and normal version. i think it just as the davinci version of w810i. the phone is almost similar plus additional accesories.

you cant change the sms tone. i mean you cant use mp3 for sms tone. keypad tone can be turn off. i forgot which forum i read. but not here in lowyat. if you email samsung support they will ask you to lower down the phone volume, then the keypad tone also will reduce. some forumer manage to overcome this by doing something that i've forgot. sorry couse i cannot help you sort thing out. but it is posible to turn off the keypad sound without lower down phone volume smile.gif

aiyaya...oppsie..i accidently filtered the threads...no wonder these few days only saw SE thread...paiseh...

erm i bought from lyn member for 1500+ with the memory card...without memory card is 1400++...i didnt survery the price in lowyat bcoz lazy n quite far...n i dont really thrust tat place.. tongue.gif tongue.gif

okok...review time...erm...great phone?i think my review will be like most of the others'...

ok lets start from the screen, awesome i would say.n the theme is cool bcoz it will change according to the time, country u go n the signal(it wil be nicer if it will follow the weather as well... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif )there r only 2 colours for the skin which r black n white...cool enough though..

then the camera...wow 3mp!!dont play play...the quality is superb...very nice...will put some pics up later..HOWEVER,when it is in low light condition, the pics r quite doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif bcoz the LED flash cant help much..well..cant complain bcoz i wont be as slim if they install a flash like k800...n the loading time for camera is quite irritating too...abt 2 secs...

the video...again,great.CIF,which is 328x288 i think...very clear...recorded video wil be in mp4 format...

other functions(lol lazy to write EVERYTHING in detail ler...just ask if got quenstion)...the mp3 player is good enough for me...i've never listen to other walkman phone so i cant compare the quality of audio..ringtones r not VERY LOUD but is loud enough for me...aiya...wht else..erm...

so the conclusion is

advantages:
nice screen,camera n video recording..
nice design n unique(you see so many k800 users...so we r special.. icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif lol don flame me)
has most of the main functions tat needed(alarm, calender, memo, voice recording...)

disadvantages:
no 3G loh...(but the upcoming model has it)
cant take nice pic at nite
pics n videos taken wont be saved directly into memory card..have to DIY..
cant view contacts seperately from sim card n phone memory...all in 1 phonebook.. doh.gif
cant transfer java applications thru bluetooth or usb..have to download using gprs(this is what i heard...nv try it bcoz seldom play games)

thats all for now... whistling.gif whistling.gif

some pics(adi posted them in another thread)
with auto focus

will add some outdoor pics nxt time... tongue.gif

Just wanna ask you all, planning to get The Slimmest and smallest phone alive. Thinking of getting D830. Is it ok? By the looks of it, Slim and small. Any other recommendation to this? tq

IMO, Samsung ultra slim series is nonetheless a success (many manufacturers like SE and Nokia are either unable or not intended to come out with any slim series), but you've to do more research on the durability as well as battery life.

As far as I know, the slimmest model is not D830 but X820

So base on your fact, better still i get D830 rather then x820? How about D300 or other brand such as Nokia?

as for my opinion, it depend on the technique you used. as i've mention in some thread, the difference between k800i and D900 picture quality is almost unnoticeable, k800i win only in low light condition cause it has flash. beside that is maybe the software for k800i in taking picture is better cause it has image stabilizer. D900 also not bad cause it can manually set ISO setting.

@lord
how's the battery life?

p/s: the only think prevent me from buying d900 because it's rumor on battery life. not the camera.

k800i in crystall case really ugly. i admit that. however sometime i open the crystal casing. really satisfy couse it still like new. smile.gif i use both, screen protector and crytal casing.

yes i admit that gprs/edge/3g is a bit pricy. if you have streamyx or other broadband at home, there is not need to use data servis. maybe sometime la like want to send mms or checking email urgently. but as for me i dont have streamyx in my place. so i'm rely on data package. now choice for me wink.gif

i think the price for this phone when 1st release is rm1699 in jb area.

what i mean fast if when you online to internet using edge. then you can differ between edge and gprs connection. ig just sending mms, we cannot determine exactly how fast the phone when connect to edge. however must assure 1st that you in edge ceverage area.

lord, do u find it's troublesome to keep transfering files to mmc and hp's memory when u need to set the ringtones, or after u've taken photos/videos? For the battery life, u charge everyday right?

erm...so far im still ok bcoz im still using phone memory...lazy to transfer them...for ringtones i think is ok bcoz only few songs...n i seldom change them..n abt photos..i just found out something..after i transfered the pic from my photo to mmc,if i transfer it back from mmc to phone, the pic will be save under downloaded pic n wont be able to view it as full screen after i set as wallpaper.however pic will be in full screen if it is in my photo(the default folder)...i'm not sure whether there is a way to overcome this problem...

for the battery..now i charge it after 1 bar gone...approx 2 days once...just tested tat day...2-3 hours of mp3+take some pics+some sms=low batt... rolleyes.gif

That mean if I get a picture loaded to my hp, it'll directly goes into the downloaded image folder, thus can't view in full screen?

erm...so far i havent uploaded any pic from pc to hp b4...but i think it should be the same...my fren transfer pic using bt,the pic go directly to downloaded image.

just tested something...pic in downloaded image n favourite image cant be viewed in full screen.if u move a pic from my photo to fav image, the image cant be in full screen.however u're be able to transfer it back to my photo.pic in downloaded folder cant be moved to my photo.(aiks...it would be much clearer if i could draw a chart tongue.gif )

my photo(full)->fav image(non)->my photo(full)
downloaded pic(non)->fav image(non)

so my conclusion...only pic in my photo can be viewed full screen.aiks...i'm not good in explaining stuff doh.gif ...hope u guys can understand laugh.gif ...

btw wht i mean by non-full screen means for e.g i set it as wallpaper, the pic will appear in the middle of the screen...the upper part n lower part will be the background/skin colour.

sad.gif sad.gif sorry ler...but the conclusion is only pic in my photo aka the default folder for camera pic, can be viewed as full screen.others, shakehead.gif shakehead.gif .

but for full screen only when send to pc is nice la...if view from the phone then have to scroll left to right to c everything...oh n for wallpaper, only the middle part,or centre of the full screen pic will be set as wallpaper...the side will be cut out bcoz the pic is too big..(oops...aiseh..i dunno how to explain it in words..will use digicam to show it nxt time...now exam period) tongue.gif

All phones at almost the same budget...

I'm contemplating between this D900, W850i and W900i
All phones at almost the same budget...
Any suggestions?

Can get this phone for 1.1k from LYP?
How long can the battery last?

Samsung shows all contacts. No options available. You can use the PC software to modify/delete your contacts easier.

anyone knows how to configure that all SMS received directly save into the phone instead of the SIM card?  icon_question.gif

Nope. Not an option too. What i did was to create 20 (my simcard supports 2 only) empty messages and save them in the simcard. So whatever new messages that arrives directly goes to the phone.

oopsie...comp spoilt n cant on9...>.<

anyway wanna let u all know something b4 u decide which 1 to buy..i went 4 vacation n obviously i took lots of pic n video..then i realized how bad can the 'cant save directly to memory card' affect..i was taking video of some parade n out of sudden my phone ran out of memory..so i needed to transfer those taken 1 into the memory card n omg!!it took me so long until i missed some of the great part of the parade!!n everynite i have to transfer pic from phone to memory card which is kinda annoying...

so my conclusion is..if u really love to take pics n video and will take A LOT in 1 shot, make sure u have enough space.60mb is not really enough if u set ur camera at 3mp n video at CIF.don forget u need some space for ringtones, sms n etc.

oops sorry.. hands.gif but i think is better to know all the bad sides instead of the good 1...

n 1 more thing tat might be another turn-off of the phone..i dunno is just my phone or wht, when im browsing pic in memory card,i cant view the whole folder in thumbnail form..i have to scroll the list down slowly to c the pic..n i cant change from pic to pic by pressing the direction keys..i have to go back to the folder, click another pic to view it.so when my fren was browsing, they got quite irritated.n is quite slow...however all the above can be done if the pics r in the phone.so i think to solve the problem best is to use card reader n view those pic using com.too bad my com now mati.. mad.gif mad.gif

n abt the memory thing,1 reason it is not enough 4 me bcoz there r some default korean songs n videos that i havent deleted them.don feel like deleting them but they suck up at least 15mb of my memory... sweat.gif sweat.gif

Hmm seriously, why did they make it like that
Stuff like no vibration+ring together and can't save directly into memory card.
It just beats the purpose of having expandable memory. SO much hassle sad.gif

@ dannytzh,

with regards to the price, I've also surveyed the price even in Subang, FMG set if RM1.3k. Probably that guy is selling AP set. doh.gif

I wouldn't want the N73 though because it's really kind of bulky to carry it around. The price of D900 still hasn't gone down much and it has been months and it's ranging at RM1.3k.

I think getting the K810i is wasting money though because it is practically the same K800i with just some new face lit done

I have tried my friend's D900 already. I personally don't really find the camera that good. It's take quite a few seconds to capture the image. Roughly like 2-3 seconds just to capture one frame.

In terms of sound loudness, not bad la... it doesn't has an external speaker i notice as the loudspeaker is projected through the earpiece.

Overall not bad la.... a good phone to get but a little costly.

i'm sure d900 speaker is way better compared to k800i speaker. the interface is good. but for someone that use SE phone before might find the OS of the phone a bit troublesome.

i think the sound is loud enough...still can hear when im in a mall..but havent tried at disco or club yet.. tongue.gif

abt the interface i think nowadays all the phones r abt the same for me...i've tried SE,nokia, motorola n of coz samsung n i think there is not much difference..the only thing tat always bother me when i change phone is the sms typing.. icon_rolleyes.gif
QUOTE(DreMAx @ Mar 2 2007, 05:03 PM)
I have tried my friend's D900 already. I personally don't really find the camera that good. It's take quite a few seconds to capture the image. Roughly like 2-3 seconds just to capture one frame.

In terms of sound loudness, not bad la... it doesn't has an external speaker i notice as the loudspeaker is projected through the earpiece.

Overall not bad la.... a good phone to get but a little costly.
*
bingo!!!i oso don like tat..quite ma fan n sometimes might miss any nice scene... flex.gif
QUOTE(evilguy @ Mar 2 2007, 05:27 PM)
i'm sure d900 speaker is way better compared to k800i speaker. the interface is good. but for someone that use SE phone before might find the OS of the phone a bit troublesome.
*
izzit better??k800 speaker is not the same as those walkman series??havent tried it though... cool.gif

The only SE phone that has good and loud speaker is w550i. This phone's speaker is really loud. i mean really loud. and it is also stereo. AFAIK other SE phone speaker is not really good. K800i also not good. the sound will sound distort when play sound to loud. some more it mono only.

I have to agree on the speaker. Compared to the K800 i can tell you that the speaker on the D900 is better then the K800. Not much though but still better laugh.gif

When i was trying out the phone on my friend's D900, i was a little disappointed with the camera like i have said before. But the Cybershot K800 isn't any better though but on the bright side, it captures the pictures faster than the D900.

i got this phone last week for 1k and it comes together with 1gm toshiba memory card..here's an honest review

pro's

1. clear and vivid display..can pawn SE and nokia anytime.serious
2. loud and acceptable sound quality.
3. sliding seems to be solid
4. responsive keypads
5. light..thus smsing made more easier (depends on individuals)
6. camera is good enuf for average phototaking..not rellay as bad as
wut people comapred to k800..juz that is has slower capture frame.

con's

1. its a bit a fuss when u want to transer files from computer to memory
com ---> hp ----> memory card. i cant seem to direct transer through
hub..any 1 can help me?
2. limited theme.
3. user interface can be a bit anoying (for exp, it remembers the last
click in the menu..for exp, SE preset menu button when u click the
navigation button it will direct u to the msg..but for samsung it rmb's
the last directory u exit in the menu.)
4. only can store phonebook profiles pictures and songs through the
phone..cant use sim
5. no msg profiles..limited poly

hihi~~i noe who u r.. biggrin.gif
u use ur waja as avatar in cari forum oso~~ biggrin.gif

i can comment abit bout da headfon quality~~
my fren jz bought it yesterday for rm680~~ smile.gif

da headfon can b said as ok for me...
da sound is clear~~da treble is nice...
however da bass is not so powerful~~if compare wif nokia n70 n motorola v3i~~
it stil got bass feel~~jz not strong..
overall 10 marks i giv it 7.5~~minus 2.5 for da lack of bass power~~ tongue.gif

u can go test it if u realli interested wif it~ cool2.gif

i think tat its worth 2 get such spec fon at tis price~~ thumbup.gif

post some comment from my diary tongue.gif

jus bougth the phone yesterday biggrin.gif

RM 680 from Johor Taman U~

i give 8 / 10 for this phone rclxms.gif

5.有FM

6. user friendly, 研究了一晚现在觉得很容易用了,很方便

这电话的缺点:

1.mp3 playlist 只有四个,每个最多30首歌

2.拍照了不能直接存入memory card,别人用蓝牙send的东西也不能(我最介意的就是这个,好麻烦)

3.拍照有点lag...不过选pan focus(拍远处)就能解决这点

4.整架电话有那么一点点的lag,虽然不会严重也许是我头脑和手指太快了

5.简讯不会进outbox要每次都按才能

6.听说银幕非常容易破(好怕哦)

7.电话接电脑,只能选择一样,不能access card and access phone memory(这我也有点介意,因为照片是在电话里,不过我的mp3是在卡)

Just sold this phone last saturday nod.gif

due to :

1. heavily scratches (i really wonder how other users are...mine one is super scrathces ==")

2. battery dont last long when listen to mp3 using earphone. fully charge battery only can last 3-4 hours of music.(by earphone, not loudspeaker)

3. this phone's slide is very unsmooth ==" like got sand inside the phone when slide ==

but its camera's macro is really superb rclxm9.gif
