the signal strength of the e1200 kinda sucks; behind 2 walls cannot get signal d. sad.gif

PM me your budget and size of your unit, we'll recommend some for you.

My first week of using time was great, uploads and downloads were above what I Paid. Then it all started going to hell on the second week, downloads speeds were around 2mb to 3mb... Uploads was worst.
Contacted the cust service via email, they are very incompetent , Gave up on TM for their Sevice... manatau Time also same. But please is there any1 else to contact for help?
Any1 can help me here?

Edit : Tried to use boost for the first time. No difference in speed, wasted 2 hours for slower connection  icon_question.gif

Hi Bro,

Putting aside of the hardware / fibre equipment issues, we need your local speedtest results.
Following by the TraceRoute results (periodically pattern will be appreciated) to your downloading server.

Please pm me directly, we will proceed with Level 2 support if there's nothing much from the findings.

Thanks.

The speed i get in speedtest.net
i can get 60Mb is because when starting few second the speed is 280Mb, after that is 46mb, speedtest file too small and it just take average.
[attachmentid=5148277]

The speed i get in Time webpage
starting time also fast, but it not take average, it take last second, so it is actual speed.

Usually for a more fair test, get a few tests from various servers & get an average.

Try not to use Time speedtest if you want a fairer results.

Thanks.

i compare with unifi landed house, ftth..
dl game in Uplay i just can get 5.8MB/s and Unifi ftth get 6.5MB/s this the different..
why like that, it is because time gv 50Mb from their place, when reach user site it will loss and get speed below 50Mb.
Unifi gv 50Mb+ from there site, when the speed reach user house the speed still more than 50Mb.

Example
From time server 50Mb speed, distance to user site loss 3Mb, user get 47Mb speed.
From Unifi server 56Mb speed, distance to user site loss 5Mb, user get 51Mb speed.

i think is like that, but not so sure...
*
Hi Bro,

Yes you are right man, not only Unifi, there are couple of 'others' providers that utilizing full fibre for landed properties, when this comes, it's very much depending on the FTTH network design (network designer/planner plays vital role), no. of joints. equipment being used at Terminal (OLT/Station/Exchange) & at last mile...

Tuning up higher bandwidth at the source is a common practice for most of the providers, not only Unifi.

Time still stands out amongst the crowds as its signal losses are minimal. If you are in Penang, I can show you why is it so..

Thanks.

I already feedback this long time ago d, TMNUT did a higher capped, for example if they advertised 8mbps, they will capped maybe 8.5mbps. For time I think they only give a small higher margin on capped. for example, for 8mbps they will capped 8.2 instead.

Hence overall for time, the speed is like around +- 10% on average. time should put a >15% buffers on this instead.

Ya Bro...about that range...so far since its 1st day launching GPON til now...but sometimes do have some hiccups...hehehe

So my advice, pls turn off the FULL CONE NAT in TPLINK.

Hi Bro,

Just recently like that ? Are you port forwarding any external traffic to your internal network ?

Btw guys, just a precaution from me, you might not want to put your complete IP address where almost everyone can see. I still believe no one here got malicious intent, but just to be on the safe side, blur out your complete IP address. icon_rolleyes.gif
Just like the other user said, a slight deviation should be alright. I'm on the 100 Mbps subscription, most of the time only got 90+ on speedtest (when not over 100GB of use). rolleyes.gif
*
Ya agree Bro...

Sometimes some areas we test no matter how also can't reach 80Mbs...yours not bad ..
Some areas, we managed to shoot up to 10x.xMbps

Usually direct connection to ONU will give faster and more consistent speed.

Thanks.

Yeah. That still doesn't justify what I said a couple of days ago tho. See below. hmm.gif

Anyway, I've somehow gone over my quota so I'm throttled down already. So I can't give any relevant tests now. I'm actually hoping that TIME could give some extra quota as a compensation for the ridiculously bad download rate for almost a month. As a good will. But hey, I guess TIME's not different than any other company then. yawn.gif

Hi Bro,

Feel free to voice up your concerns & request too the customer service, by of course giving supporting evidences such as your speedtest results, download screenshots, traceroute results etc.

Thanks.

Agreed, and the customer service is shit and dishonest. They contacted me to tell me my bandwidth to Europe should have improved, and yet when I tested again I saw no improvement and sent the results back to customer service. More than a week later and nothing heard back. Surprise surprise, Malaysian customer service at it's best smile.gif

I am convinced that Time has cut costs on their backbone connections and are doing their best to fool everyone to thinking it is business as usual. Why else is it that when you call customer service they say there is no problem where as here we have agents(paid reps of Time) telling us there are ongoing "issues", with the standard response of send me your trace and ping. Surely they would have had collected enough data by now to fix the issue, if there really is an issue.

When I speak to my MDeC account manager next, I will ask him why ISP's in Malaysia can not provide reliable internet bandwidth to Europe.

Hi Bro,

We understand the frust that you have gone thru...please kindly provide me your Report Case ID as well as looping in me into your complain emails to our customer service.

We will follow up from there.

Thanks.

Hi Bro,

Make sure the Username & Password has not been altered, you need to request to reset your port and it will be fine.

Thanks.

Hi Bro,

Not to say you cant use wireless, but in process of drilling down to the root cause of the problem, please perform a speedtest to local servers again using cable.

2ndly, we would appreciate if you could test also by bypassing the Router, means using direct connection between your computer to the Huawei OU (aka Fibre Modem).

Thanks.

Hi "Bro",

How about you give us an update on what Time network engineers are actually working on at the movement and a detailed explanation of their current "problem".

Thanks.
*
We will be having a meeting this week, and hence from very much earlier I requested for the Case ID/Report ID that you all have made.

See my post :
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry76640041

You know corporate style la...without solid case IDs, it's harder to push for an answer...

For other who is affected, please do also submit the Case ID, so that we can assist in following up.

Thanks.
