Hi Bro,

Try test it out with the followings :

1) Downloading files with localized cdn servers such as from MS server.
2) Try it out with Premium account (if you have it) of File Hosting sites that you are experiencing slowness.

Thanks.

Cheers smile.gif

Bro maybe u didn't get it. I already say from few posts back I download from my OWN dedicated server. No other user on those servers. 1 of them is a 1Gbit server. Download speed is SLOWWWW. Until now it is not more than 200kBps

So finally I got pissed and called TIME. The answer is simple. As I've suspected, it's a peering issue. Undersea cable SMW4 is having some fault. Repair is already underway, expected to be finished by next Monday 16/3/15. In the meantime, TIME is re-routing traffic from Europe to US, which have massive data lost and so result in slow speed

Let's hope this will be fixed ASAP.. wink.gif

Hmmm since u are telling the opposite of TIME customer service, perhaps can reveal what's the cause of this slowdown please

Before TIME solves this, it would be better to stay away from TIME. What's the point of having 100mbps or unmetered 30mbps when u can only download at not more than 200kbps no matter what package u on doh.gif

Hi all,
I just realized today I can't access LINE Messaging (both in my phone & laptop) by using TIME FIBRE 100Mbps HOME BROADBAND. On the other hand, I can use LINE Messaging flawlessly by using Maxis.

Any thougts? smile.gif Thanks

Hi Bro,

Firstly, make sure you are in fact getting actual 30Mbps by doing a simple speedtest (www.speedtest.net) with local servers.

If you are really getting the 30Mbps, then proceed with testing downloading bigger files/simultaneously download few files at the same time, you will notice the difference.
Sometimes you cant feel the significant difference due to what you are browsing/downloading does not require such high bandwidth.
Possibly also servers that you are downloading does implement bandwidth control on the downloading session per IP, resulting you cant go beyond the limit.

PM me if you require further assistance.

Thanks.

Hi Bro,

Possibly you could provide (pm/email) me with some testing accounts to your dedicated servers, I try to test it out here at my side.

Thanks.

Hi Bro,

Yes this happens once a while, you gotta report to Time CS at customerservice@time.com.my or calling 1800 18 1818.

They will proceed with the resolution.

Thanks.

Hello jjj2,

Thankyou for your advise and my apology for not putting the details in the previous message.

Here are the details and reasons i am asking about the boost:
- I use LAN Connection
- After i selected 1hour boost from TIME website, i ran speedtest and the speedtest at TIME website and is confirmed the speed was about 30Mbps.
- I have subscribed TIME for nearly 2 years..There isnt any complaints from me until recently (beginning of the year).
- I sent these screenshot to Astro IPTV (i signed for the package Astro-TIME), and the technical support mentioned that it could be due to my router wifi channel :| . Thus, i follow her instruction to change the wifi channel from Auto to some number..not much helping.
- then she said probably due to wifi router malfunction...but i am not consistently getting the slow speed..sometimes, it does function well..hence no sure about this point.

Below are some data points that i manage to capture (I did not save the speedtest screenshot on 12 MARCH):

Date: 12 MARCH 2015 ~3:30pm

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed info.... from the screenshots able to notice sometimes the Boost does not really increase the download speed...
Is each of this downloading file using multi session?? If not try do a test by increasing the session per download per file, gets it before & after boost.
By looking at the download patterns, still can't really judge the exact problem..the increase of both download & upload speed after Boost does NOT always guarantee the same increase proportion when comes to International traffic.
I don't think it's the router issue, feel free to check my pm for some modification.

Thanks.

Hi Bro,

Do you mean you are having slowness issue when normal browsing websites ?? All websites??

Before going further, can you check your Internet Speed at Speedtest.net ?

Thanks.

Hi Bro,

If you mean changing the password for your Time account, I'm sorry this feature has been disabled due to too many previous cases where customers changed the password & eventually can't connect to Internet.
If you still wish to change, you may contact TIME Customer Service at 1800 18 1818 or customerservice@time.com.my

If you refer to the Wi-Fi key/password, then you can login to the Router to change it.

Feel free to Buzz me if you need further assistance.

Thanks.

An update on my findings (Not fully resolve yet):

Decided to switch to another router to replace the existing Cisco E1000 -> Mi router. At least, the download speed is closer to at what is should be.

user posted image

Again, the remaining item is the boost section. The speed is no change even after the boost activated (confirmed via speedtest from both speedtest.net & time.come.my)

I have question here:

Shall i be expecting any % from the Boost usage (as pointed by the arrow below)? As you can see, i still left 14hours more but the usage is always 0% usage. I did a check yesterday by logging into the selfcare page during the boost...still observing 0%. I just hope that the boost is activated at my side instead of accidentally to other user.
