FTTx is best effort basis without SLA/SLG but no SLA between ASP and consumer required in seeking compensation IF an ASP couldn't meet the mandatory standard of QoS. You can read more here

Read point number 6 again, it is SLA between ASP/NSP providers and other facilities/services providers, nothing to do with consumer.

Hi Bro,

Yes the SKMM regulations are actually met, the bandwidth to the BRAS is actually within the 10-20% allowance of the advertised speed.

The problem most of the users are facing now are International Routing issue, that is why routing path is very important for us to determine the issue.

https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry76640041

Issue No. 1 has been resolved.

Issue No. 2 is still under investigation.

Thanks.

No worry. I have not (hope not needed) file any complaints on Time Fibre for now. I was trying to say compensation is not up to Time management approval and doesn't requires any SLA.

Successfully used QoS on streamyx back on 2007 and Penangfon back on 2008. smile.gif

Thank you very much Bro smile.gif

Remember couple of years ago, that are few cases where they first launched 100Mbps, customers are able to get max speed less than 5xMbps (even width direct ONU connection)...ended up there are some sorts of compensation being made.

Thanks.

i am referring to this:
D-LINK DIR-850L

sorry for the typo rclxub.gif
*
Hi Bro,

You should consider both differences :

Asus RT-N14UHP
> 10/100Mbps WAN/LAN
> Dual Stream MIMO 3x9dBi High Gain dipole Antenna
> 2.4GHz band
> Long range

DIR-850L
> Gigabit WAN/LAN
> Realtek 2x2
> 2.4 & 5GHz
> Higher Noise tolerence

It depends on your house layout & also whether it's a 'noisy' environment.

Feel free to PM me your layout.

Which one do you think has the best performance and able solve the timecom instability issue?
*
All can solve the intermittent connection issue but you need to go through some tests to determine the actual problem before you purchase the Router.

Within the your allocated budget, performs the best >

For single band Router
Asus RT-N18U

For Dual Band Router
Asus RT-N56U (replaced by RT-N66U ---> RT-AC66U)
Tp-Link Archer C7 v2
D-link 850L (poorer simultaneous traffic & outdated config panel)

Thanks.

hi something below RM500? I'm currently using the default router provided by time.

I usually have 4 devices (2 phones and 2 laptops connected). When I'm playing Dota, and my wife surfs youtube or scrolls her instagram, I can feel the lag. Is this due to router problem? I'm quite sure 6mbps should not lag with this usage only.
*
HI Bro,

Please test it out to see both the differences if you are connecting via Wireless and Cable.

It's hard to say whether 6Mbps is enough or not, it really depends on the content quality that your wife is streaming, coincidentally a slight drop met with the high bandwidth consumption at the same moment will cause you to feel the lag...
Inconsistent or intermittent High ping to your Dota server will cause that too.

My advise is to find out the root cause before changing your Router.

P/S : BTw, is your router the old E1200 ?

Feel free to drop me a line should you require further assistance.

'Thanks.

Hi,

ya I'm using E1200. She usually stream 480p taiwan videos on youtube.
*
HI Bro,

How far your Router from your PC ?

This 'notorious' E1200 Router big possibility is the culprit. Again, try connect using cable to see if it makes any difference.
