QUOTE(GameSky @ Oct 7 2017, 11:48 PM) using 1060, seems got display port 1.4 Using 1060 sure no problem. You can get any monitor any refresh rate. But why get TN? I just check the price, it is kind of value, around RM 1k only. But TN.... errr, Haha! Sorry to said I rather to get a 60hz IPS than 144hz TN. I know 144Hz make a lot differences on gaming and video playback but .... IPS make even huge differences than TN in everything. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Oct 8 2017, 01:48 AM

QUOTE(GameSky @ Oct 8 2017, 02:54 PM) so meaning 1080p 60hz IPS is better than 144hz tn? so far only acer with cheaper 144hz, but only with TN panels tho 144hz is nice for gaming but under TN not my prefer. I cannot stand on TN not sharp quality, bad viewing angle, bad color accuracy, dull look and washed out especially those cheap TN panel is very bad in my opinion. I suggest you go shop check on TN and IPS and you will know the differences. Some people don't care on image quality and don't bother but myself cannot stand on TN. I only accept IPS or VA panel. You need to top up more if you want 144hz in IPS. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Oct 8 2017, 03:14 PM

QUOTE(GameSky @ Oct 11 2017, 09:41 PM) Hi, use by my company but I not using it. Don't have any color profile to share . But I do help some colleague change the monitor Color Temp preset as default warm is too warmer. I change the Color Temp from warm to "Cool". I think it name cool if not wrong.

QUOTE(zzzhhhzzz @ Oct 19 2017, 07:40 AM) which one gives better colour saturation and contrast ? LG 34UC79G. LG is another level quality. ViewSonic VX3209-2K is great. LG 34UC79G is extremely great. Great contrast with accurate vivid colour out of the box. It even include a calibration report in the box. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Oct 19 2017, 02:04 PM

QUOTE(lylee73 @ Oct 23 2017, 08:26 PM) My mom's computer monitor just died a few days back and needed one urgently. Here are her requirements: Brand: Anything reliable would be great. Price: As cheap as possible? Around RM 300 I guess? Size: Not sure, but not too small. Features: She only needed the most basic monitor, hence I was asking as cheap and reliable as possible. IPS might be an added bonus. They is no RM 300 IPS panel, RM 300 monitor all will hurt your eye, possible make you dizziness as well with extremely low quality TN shit output that is washout badly and not even 1080p resolution. You need at least RM 500 to RM 700 for getting a decent monitor. Some recommendation, price found at Lazada - BenQ GW2470H, 24" AMVA+ 1080p panel, RM 494
- Dell E2316H, 23" IPS 1080p panel, RM 578 (this is glossy panel, it will hard to control light reflection)
- Acer R241Y 24" IPS 1080p panel, RM 659 (My company buy few of this model, it is a good value IPS panel)

QUOTE(Aivihc @ Oct 26 2017, 11:16 AM) Plan to upgrade my monitor something bigger/wider (currently own DELL U2412m) Now I'm torn with some option.. can give me recommendation Should I go for "29 "32 "34 my usage 70% (photography/video editing & movies) 30% (gaming mostly FPS) not necessary to be curved and if possible 144hz. I'm on 1060 6GB. In my opinion don't go for 29" UltraWide as it looks very small, it is 24" longer. Probably due to longer, it looks kind of small in feel. I will go for 34" Ultrawide, Ultrawide in gaming really cool just some games not native support, you need to do some manual changes. 34" Ultrawide is a longer version of 27" wide. If not interesting with Ultrawide, 32" or 27" wide is a nice upgrade.

QUOTE(Aivihc @ Oct 26 2017, 02:44 PM) Wow! Thanks! Any specific brand I should consider for 34" and 32" ? My budget RM3K below. Budget below RM 3K, I think you only can get 34" Ultrawide. I am using LG 34UC79G, it is an awesome 34" Ultrawide 2560x1080 with Freesync and 144Hz. Sorry not a 3440x1440 and no G-Sync. Such spec need around RM 5k.

QUOTE(lylee73 @ Oct 26 2017, 07:14 PM) I kinda wanted to get some opinion on the AOC I2080sw. Not sure how good or bad was it, because my mom badly wanted the cheapest monitor possible. IPS I think should be ok. But with resolution only 1440x900 will be very narrow working space. Any vertical resolution not reaching 1000+ is a bit narrow.

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Oct 28 2017, 04:11 PM) Andrew, wanna ask you, the Acer R241Y able to tilt or not? And no speaker right? I was thinking to get either R241Y or ET41Y, both value IPS display but the ET41Y come with 2W Dual Speaker (well I won't expect good quality come out of it but my desk are limited space). Hi, Acer R241Y no speaker and it tilt from -5° to 15° https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/UM.QR1EE.001

QUOTE(publicENEMY @ Oct 30 2017, 10:17 AM) Looking for 32 inch monitor. Which model do you recommend? Are there speakers in the monitor? Previously i use 32inch fullhd tv as monitor. The tv just died now, so im looking for replacement. Currently looking at monitor from these brand. Samsung and viewsonic. I also considering TV but it seems it is impossible to get 32inch fullhd tv nowadays. 40-42 inch fullhd that are available are always the worst panel model. (higher grade panels are usually reserved for higher end models). 32" in Full HD? Can your PC running fine in QHD or 4K? I suggest 32" at least go for QHD. ViewSonic VX3209-2K is a good 32 inch QHD monitor. Even though my unit is facing ants go in but probably that unit is lemon unit or design issue. So far I didn't found user comment on this issue except me face it. If your place is fully ants free. I believe should be fine.

QUOTE(Jet144 @ Nov 7 2017, 02:35 PM) Andrew, have you try hardware calibration for Viewsonic VP2468? [attachmentid=9309726] I don't have that device, I tune using my own eye. Already settle. Haha! That device is not bundle. It is sold separately. I don't think I will buy such thing. Hehe This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Nov 7 2017, 07:26 PM

QUOTE(weryand @ Nov 10 2017, 04:20 PM) What are the recommendation for 24” ips display for around 500 ringgit? So far i only found benq gw2470h and lg 24mp59g RM 500 is a bit low budget for 24" IPS display. You need to increase more RM 200 for more choices. The BenQ GW2470H is not IPS, this is VA panel. Beside above model, below 4 is within your budget, good or not I had no idea but it is IPS/PLS/VA panel. For me as long is not TN then normally is good. Samsung all is PLS as IPS already get registered trademark and Samsung cannot use it. IPS and PLS is similar technology and similar output. - ViewSonic VA2419-Sh (IPS)
- LG 24MP68VQ (IPS)
- Samsung LS24F350 (PLS)
- AOC M2470SWH (VA)

QUOTE(weryand @ Nov 13 2017, 09:42 AM) Thanks for the recommendations. Do i need to buy the one with displayport if i didnt play game above 60hz? All listed monitor is only 60Hz and HDMI since version 1.3 is far than enough for 1080p 60hz. No need display port for 1080p 60hz monitor.
