QUOTE(Xnet @ Nov 14 2017, 12:18 AM) No different in quality just DP version1.2 support 4K in 60Hz, support 144Hz, support freesync, g-sync and etc which HDMI version1.3 or 1.4 not support due to not enough bandwidth. HDMI version 2.0 or 2.1 had better support but most monitor not come with it. In general DP is the future now.If your monitor no above mentioned feature then it is totally no differences. |

QUOTE(Xypheria @ Dec 9 2017, 12:55 AM) Your background always on point Haha! Thanks.Wanna ask, what made you go for this instead of other IPS 23.9"? let say U2417H Wanted to make two monitor set up, and currently looking for the 2nd monitor.. Thanks! Very simple as my place nobody have U2417H in stock when I search for 2nd monitor. Haha! But I no regret as ViewSonic VP2468 is LG Panel and it is using more display area as 93.21% where Dell U2417H is only 92.47%. Some more ViewSonic VP2468 is 5ms and sRGB 100% compare with Dell U2417H 6ms and sRGB 99%. https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/e7173a52 This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Dec 9 2017, 02:12 AM |

QUOTE(TristanX @ Jan 8 2021, 09:13 AM) How is this monitor? Alienware AW2721D. From review this monitor was awesome! But remember it is same as others. You get 10bit color in 144hz only, if go higher than this, you need downgrade to 8bit color for 240hz.https://www.dell.com/en-my/shop/alienware-2...tor-accessories G-Sync Ultimate, 1440p, HDR600. So far until now they is no monitor can do more than 144hz in 10bit. That is also the reason I won't overclock my main monitor to 160hz as that also make my monitor need reduce to 8bit. They is a huge differences on the color output set as RGB 10bit v/s YCbCr 10bit or 8bit. YCbCr never good even it is on 10bit as you seen obvious banding issue especially on 8bit. The price is pretty high also this model, haha! QUOTE(sacwoc @ Jan 8 2021, 12:23 PM) Anyone has any comment on this monitor? Curve is not good for wide monitor. Curve only great in Ultrawide monitor.https://m.yohohongkong.com/product/35952-As...-Monitor-VP228H As I am WFH a lot thought of getting and found this curved monitor. Will be doing some normal work stuff and no programming. Make sense to have a curve monitor? Yes its HKD as i am working here. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Jan 9 2021, 04:26 AM |

QUOTE(kEazYc @ Jan 12 2021, 11:33 AM) In the market to look for a new monitor for myself after using Dell U2312HM for quite a few good years, looking at the spec of 27 inch/2K reso/144hz/IPS/pivot-able. I vote for LG-27GL850 or DELL-27-S2721DGF. This two model is running as 10-bit color at 144hz. Basically all 10-bit monitor can run at 10-bit up to 144hz. I'm seeing price range of the spec can go from RM1.2K up to RM2k, but not too sure which one is ok to go for, below are the models i'm currently eyeing at with my comment on each model. AOC Q27G2S - RM1299 - something about in-order to achieve 10bit color at 144hz, must set to the color format of YCbCr 4:2:2? Not too sure what's the meaning. Xiao Mi 27 Inch 165hz non curve - RM1488 - new release model, don't have local warranty (max 6 months local supplier warranty), very minimalistic look which is my liking, very less review about it so not too sure about the cons. LG 27GL850 - RM1700-RM1899 - Nano IPS but not sure how much it differs from the traditional IPS panel. Dell S2721DGF - RM1890-2k - seems like using the same panel as the LG model above? basically more leaning to this due to my impression of the quality for Dell U2312HM. One thing that i'm assuming right now is, all the model listed can't achieve 10 bit Color Bit in 144hz mode, does it matter much if its not 10 bit Color Bit in 2021? Your comments would be much appreciated, if there are models that are better than those listed, feel free to suggest them. It is big different especially on HDR. 10-bit had removed the banding. But make sure you set at the highest RGB 10-bit, not the YCbCr422 or 444 which is limited range than full range. Personally I am using LG-27GL850 as second monitor. A great monitor but it is IPS, so not suitable for all dark room usage as glow is unavoidable but I find the glow is very minimum. So far so good. ![]() This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Jan 12 2021, 01:21 PM |

QUOTE(Icehart @ Feb 23 2021, 12:00 PM) Woah I don't dare to order online. Now I order direct from Dell only. Any others brand is ok order from Shopee except Dell.My U2718Q I order online RM 2,299 (retail RM 2,499) end up is a refurbished unit that doesn't exist in the Dell database. So as you know warranty claim is a hassle and I missed out on Dell's outstanding premium panel guarantee. ![]() Dell won't warranty you if you order not from Dell website. Some more Dell no longer acknowledge third party seller anymore since few years ago. |

QUOTE(craxors @ Feb 23 2021, 03:49 PM) so u will wait untill june? Do remember 165hz will reduce the color output as most is overclock mode.interested on that lg too... but since last year hold the purchase... not sure 144hz is good enough or not.... because with about same price can get 165... Unless the model is not overclock mode then it is ok. When using 165hz, you cannot set RGB 10 bit but instead RGB 8 bit only. You do can set YCbCr 422 in 10 bit but that setting color never nice compare with RGB 10 bit. 144hz is far than enough IMO, how many games you can hit 165fps in 1440p resolution.
