Eventually it will. I do believe sub-rm2k 1440p oleds will be common.I skipped 1440p and went straight from 1080p ips to 4k oled. I cant downgrade anymore lol. Too big of a difference.

Actually those between 2-2.5k all mostly don't have usb c connectivity. AOC, MSI, dahua all don't think I saw one at that price range that has it. At least this has HDMI 2.1, but not like I'll use it anyway 😅.https://www.lowyat.net/2025/360422/acer-day...onitor-laptops/ |

May I ask how does RMA for monitor work on Malaysia?
My monitor had artifact bug after only 1 year old. Warranty is 3 years. So I sent it for rma. MSI got the monitor, they checked it and said cannot repair. So they went to send a replacement monitor. But can I demand ful money full refund instead of replacement monitor? I thought the consumer protection act 1999 said consumer can demand a full money refund instead of replacement? But msi simply said their policy is replacement only, so they r denying full money refund simply on that basis alone, is that lawful? So can they deny a full money refund if monitor is broken during warranty period and cannot be repaired? I'm just asking 🤔 This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 11 2025, 10:31 AM |

QUOTE(lolzcalvin @ Jul 16 2025, 08:51 PM) ... Ty, that's very enlightening. Fyi I don't have an oled monitor though I am considering getting one since I saw one going for rm 2.1k27'' 1440p glossy (with antireflective. So semi glossy?) 240hz, gen3 qdoled. Anyway one YouTuber said for OLED some user say it doesn't look nice cause they did not set it correctly. For example, he said they thought unuse hdr all the time, when in fact, when in windows, toggle.to.sdr using the hotkey. Only toggle.to HDR for watching hdr content only.e.g when play game and it support HDR, then toggle hdr. Or if I watch Netflix with HDR support,.turn on hdr. If try hdr for windows it will horrible vs just running it in sdr mode. Is that true? Also I mentioned one of the reviewers. That guy mentioned how great woled with glossy is. Because his argument was qd OLED had the magenta when the room has bright lighting, and he says matte ruins the quality on screen compared to glossy. Is it really that bad that qd OLED and matte should never be bought for OLED? Ps: https://tftcentral.co.uk/articles/gen-4-sam...nd-improvements for purple tint issue, regardless of matte or glossy, u will still get it if a lamp shines onto the panel. on camera it's purple but irl when u look at it, it's more of greyish tint. if ceiling lamps are shining onto the monitor, then for sure u will get varying degree of tint. if ceiling lamp is 45° top of monitor, and/or directly on top of monitor, will also kena regarding to HDR, don't even need to switch between SDR <-> HDR if Windows HDR is set up properly by setting up properly means use HDR display calibration ![]() click on it and it'll bring u to windows store to install Windows HDR Calibration software ![]() from here u start the calibration. quite simple to follow through. 3 simple pages each with slider to slide brightness and darkness. since OLED is OLED, darkness just slide all the way to the left. luminance wise got 2 pages (one for 10% window, another for 100% window) and will depends on ur HDR mode u selected from ur monitor OSD, e.g. my monitor has HDR, HDR Movie, HDR Peak 1000 etc. each behaves differently especially on peak luminance. for my monitor, I chose HDR Peak 1000 mode, then started calibration with this software. It'll ask u to name ur profile (as an example, I named it HDR Peak 1000 to match the selected mode from my monitor OSD), and the profile will be immediately applied and selectable from the color profile list ![]() then now when u play SDR or HDR contents, all no more issue This post has been edited by lolzcalvin: Aug 12 2025, 07:08 PM Moogle Stiltzkin liked this post

QUOTE(lolzcalvin @ Aug 12 2025, 06:51 PM) since I'm using a glossy QD-OLED I can't comment on Ty for feedback.I just ordered a gigabyte mo27q2 QD OLED 27'' 1440p 240hz semi glossy I saw all the review and specs, and for the price of rm 2162 (was on sale and also I used vouchers and coins) I think this was a good buy. Other options were new oleds with the 280hz qd OLED panels. These were somewhere between 2500-3300 around there. I ask customer support for their 280hz if it had the new el 3.0 pr older el 2.0, they said it was the older one. So what exactly do I get then paying few hundred extra just for 280h over 240hz. For myself I wouldn't pay just for that 🙄 The other option was the Asus xg27qdmg which was an woled Asus managed to get an exclusive from LG to make a true glossy panel. But it's not the gen4 woled and the price was more than the gigabyte so I could not justify getting it for myself. I'm sure it's a good monitor just not for me at the price. There is also a mo27q2a which is a refresh of the mo27q2 but with the 280hz panel. Not available yet and same reason as Alienware as to why I wasn't bothered waiting specifically for it, when I can just get a mo27q2 right now on sale Then I ask for availability for mo27q28g , this one couldn't find seller, though on reddit someone claimed over in china they started selling already. But though woled gen 4 is great and all and closes the game specially for color vs qd OLED among other things, and more burn in resistance which is of particular note as well; but the initial releases for this would be a LG ultragear and the gigabyte mo27q28g.both are matte right? That's the thing, I don't want matte. Maybe I am over worrying, cause after all even qd OLED has its faults like the magenta when light is pointed at it. But I reckoned I can fix that by fixing the lighting in room ao it's dimmer or something. Whether that will work in practice remains to be seen but from what others r saying in actual use, doesn't seem to be an issue hence why I felt ok buying this model. So no availability for the gen 4 woled, also I'm not too keen on matte for OLED and there were many reviews saying mo27q2 was good. And for price on sale it was a hard pass. Luckily or unluckily my old MSI IPS monitor died due to artifacts. So with that timing I needed a monitor now. So this is what I went with. I'll post a review on e I get it 😅 eta in 2-3 days from now I would.not have bought this gen 3 OLED if I felt burn in is gonna be very likely. I will take good care but based on OLED users, not for this particular model but seems less of an issue these days. And for the money spent at least it's not similar like last year and before where it was sky high. Still got 3 year warranty if anything happens, I think I can live with that 😅 not too expensive and not too cheap either. This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 12 2025, 10:21 PM |

Calvin just asking, do you use better clear type tuner or something similar to make fonts better on qd OLED?
I found out about this app from this YouTube 0:243 mentioned in the youtube This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 12 2025, 10:44 PM |

Calvin you mention use the windows HDR calibration.
But what about calman or hcfr ? No need bother using those to calibrate than? So windows HDR calibrator is enough? I do have an i1display x-rite calibrator, but it was originally for LCD calibration. Not sure if can use for OLED 😬 Found this but not sure if it's the best way to calibrate for windows 11 Because there is nothing in that video as to how to detect color using something like the i1display2 calibrator to adjust colors to watch the Delta gamma 2.2 , set contrast, brightness, luminance etc. that's y to my that felt like it was half assed calibration because it misses so much Is it that I need to first use calman or hcfr first to adjust monitor color settings etc before running windows 11 calibrator? QUOTE(PJng @ Aug 12 2025, 11:27 PM) end of 2022 buy acer nitro, only use few month got 2 stuck pixel, send to highpoint HQ, get new replacement in one week, Ty for sharing. My case they simply say repair can't be done then say will replace brand new.So I merely ask for money refund if that is an option, they said no. So the replacement, there is no offer for OLED upgrade even if I offer to top up to pay extra. But the replacement they promise is either same model or an upgrade. Not downgrade they assured me Will see when replacement arrives. Either way I still ordered a qd OLED separately to use that instead. I don't trust MSI for monitor qc 🤢 |
