need get a lot of approvals mcm sirim. sirim test itself mcm need 2 months iirc. I think no longer than 2-3 months
if selling at $1199, if lucky, can get around 4k, 6k if unlucky. usually not direct USD-MYR conversion, either lower or significantly higher

I checked their model MSI Optix MPG321UR-QD, original price was 900 USD (RM 4200) during launch. The Malaysia launch price was RM5499 (now reduced to RM4800, still more expensive than the US price). So based on their pricing strategy, looks like the Oled model is going into the 6k-7k territory.... doh.gif

The 32 4K oled is really tempting. Perfect for desktop gaming. But the pricing is making me think twice.... sweat.gif

My regret last yr din buy 48inch c2 at 3999 harvey norman at my town in east msia, tis yr harvey/senq no more carry 48inch, only can find in shopee which is out of reach.

i think most will offer 3 years burn in warranty. same goes to dell. but yes need to check locally. later no burn in warranty at all even.

it's really up to u whether if u want to wait, for grab the existing LG one if there's a discount deal. of course wait for reviews even better cuz at least you can compare with the QD-OLED competitors in the QHD field.

also, there may be a catch from QD-OLED hiding behind all the wows, they particularly have an issue on raised blacks - basically in a brightly lit room (or if the screen is facing the window), the black becomes brighter due to the lack of polarizer from QD-OLED, and the light is refracted in the quantum dot layer, resulting in a very observable pinkish tint
*
Thanks lolzcalvin. Yea, I don't mind wait abit for better price biggrin.gif Agreed, I've watched the video and having same concern on the pinkish tint for those QD-OLEDs.

On top of that, those 27" QHD announced at CES are mostly 360Hz (instead of 144 / 240) which is kinda bothering me since as we know the monitor tech is too advanced (in term of FPS / refresh rates) for current gen GPUs to handle, specifically AAA games. Of course it would be beneficial for competitive gamers, but not for most of us casual gamers / users. Plus, OLED is still relatively new and the material will be degraded over time, so I don't think it's worth to fork extra $$ just for those QHD 360Hz monitors for it to be 'futureproof'.

Well, it's CES so ofc they want to show off laugh.gif Plus, all of other QD-OLED gen 3 improvements are really good though, especially text clarity. Can't wait for new WOLED panel review.

I've checked with LG last weekend and here's their reply. Basically yes, burn-in from normal usage is covered. thumbup.gif

For OLED

Standard price now would be RM4k and above. (Sucky currency and taxes)

As for older models, it might cone down in price but the burn in warranty is one of the important factor. Remember to check it does have that warranty.

3rd gen QD-OLED update

Dells AW2725DF & AW3225QF have already landed in Malaysia.
Their prices are 3599 and 5199 respectively on their website before discount.
The 27" is really priced very competitively, especially considering global pricing.

The MSI models might start appearing next month. However, they are still waiting for updates from their MSI HQ side according to the CS staff I talked to. Anyway, MSI is just offering a general 3y warranty and burn in seems to be excluded (unlike DELL).

I don't think so. Msistoremalaysia evaded my direct question regarding burn in coverage twice (last week and this Tuesday) and referred to their general warranty which is "usually" 3 years. So from that conversation and their info on the webstore burn-in seems to be excluded.

Can buy from you is it? Whats your store name?

nrw that's sucks. If MSI MY not update their warranty coverage then can say bye bye. Not point buying rm3k++ above for no warranty coverage on burn in

Yeah that's exactly my opinion. I already ordered the AW2725DW when it went live. No point waiting for the LG even if some of its features might make it marginally better. That warranty alone decides where my money goes.
I think reading up on the last two pages the only LG and Dell offer burn in warranty in Malaysia. Please correct me if I am wrong.

edit: been using the AW2725DW for a bit now. spectacular.

myway1985 used to be and probably still is a one man business but he's very nice and helpful. He tried to help me with another monitor a few years ago. thumbup.gif His price on the 32" above is even lower than what a kind Dell sales assistant quoted to me (they offered exactly 7% discount for that model).
