Hi guys i am looking for 32" monitor for watching movie, video and photo editing. My budget RM1.5K. Can you guys recommend me. Thanks

BenQ EW3270U

It used to be more than RM2500 in 2018. Now it's cheaper. Can find at RM1399 in shopee.

Va panel. Good for movie and video.

The most important thing is, it's 4K.

any recommendations for best value 27 inch 4k monitor now?

budget: below RM1,800

am eyeing LG 27UP850 but hoping the price can drop further ...

Since you mentioned LG 27UP850, I assume you are eyeing on 60hz monitor. Then I recommend you this.

28 inch 4k 60hz - Asus VG289Q

One of my previous monitors. Nothing fancy about it. But it's working fine in office works/media/gaming. A very good budget friendly 4k monitor, which includes all the goodies such as versatile stand and speakers.

Will I be able to use only 1 USB-C cable to connect to my M1 Macbook Air for monitor and charging?
*
USB-C? Then the VG289Q is not for you since it doesn't have one.

Based on your budget, the one you are looking for is Dell 27 4K UHD USB-C Monitor - S2722QC

i actually bought it before and returned it within 14 working days

had eyes strain / headache using it ...

hasn't use any monitor since then ... now I'm trying to use other brand and see if it's usable for me
*
I see. Then I guess your eyes somehow cannot adapt to IPS panels. Yes, it's a thing when it comes to IPS monitor. Try to search in google. A lot of users have the same eyes problem with IPS monitor.

If that's the case, the same problem may come back even if you buy that LG monitor you mentioned above, since it's also an IPS monitor.

Therefore, your choice will be very limited. Either go for VA or TN panel. VA is better than TN. So go for that.

Unfortunately, there's no 27 inch 4K VA monitor available. Technically speaking, it doesn't exist.

So here's my suggestion. How about going for 32 inch monitor? If your desk is big and deep enough, I recommend you the Eyecare monitor BenQ EW3270U. Also one of my previous monitors. 4K VA panel. Got USB-C port. I did compare it to my another IPS monitor. And yes. This VA panel is very comfortable to eyes. Good for office works and media consumption.

Here's the review.

It's good for everything, except for gaming. If you are using the monitor for office use, especially for long hour usage. then this is highly recommended.

Here, this is the seller I bought the monitor from.

HW Unboxed now got a hands on video on MSI MPG 321URX, the 32" QD-OLED 4K display I posted earlier

priced at US$1199 which is lower than I thought it would be. seems to have competition from other competing displays which will soon be revealed. glossy screen also!

available on march 2024 onwards worldwide

2 questions though.

1. When it comes to our shore? Most likely before end of 2024, since every new tech takes their own sweet time when it comes to Malaysia market (except smart phone)?

2. The price when it reaches our shore. RM6000-6500 ish?

need get a lot of approvals mcm sirim. sirim test itself mcm need 2 months iirc. I think no longer than 2-3 months
if selling at $1199, if lucky, can get around 4k, 6k if unlucky. usually not direct USD-MYR conversion, either lower or significantly higher

I checked their model MSI Optix MPG321UR-QD, original price was 900 USD (RM 4200) during launch. The Malaysia launch price was RM5499 (now reduced to RM4800, still more expensive than the US price). So based on their pricing strategy, looks like the Oled model is going into the 6k-7k territory.... doh.gif

The 32 4K oled is really tempting. Perfect for desktop gaming. But the pricing is making me think twice.... sweat.gif

As I expected, around RM6000. And it's MAG model instead of MPG model. FYI, MAG model doesn't provide firmware update. A high end monitor that unable to update firmware and cost more than RM6000? How about NO Thanks.

Obviously, MSI is treating Malaysia as third world country. What a dissapointment. Why the hell they choose to launch MAG model instead of MPG model? Probably assumed that most Malaysia buyers are not tech savvy. doh.gif
