Gaming or not, RM 800 only can get you a 1080p monitor.

Since you mentioned LG 27UP850, I assume you are eyeing on 60hz monitor. Then I recommend you this.

28 inch 4k 60hz - Asus VG289Q

One of my previous monitors. Nothing fancy about it. But it's working fine in office works/media/gaming. A very good budget friendly 4k monitor, which includes all the goodies such as versatile stand and speakers.

Will I be able to use only 1 USB-C cable to connect to my M1 Macbook Air for monitor and charging?

USB-C? Then the VG289Q is not for you since it doesn't have one.

Based on your budget, the one you are looking for is Dell 27 4K UHD USB-C Monitor - S2722QC

I see. Then I guess your eyes somehow cannot adapt to IPS panels. Yes, it's a thing when it comes to IPS monitor. Try to search in google. A lot of users have the same eyes problem with IPS monitor.

If that's the case, the same problem may come back even if you buy that LG monitor you mentioned above, since it's also an IPS monitor.

Therefore, your choice will be very limited. Either go for VA or TN panel. VA is better than TN. So go for that.

Unfortunately, there's no 27 inch 4K VA monitor available. Technically speaking, it doesn't exist.

So here's my suggestion. How about going for 32 inch monitor? If your desk is big and deep enough, I recommend you the Eyecare monitor BenQ EW3270U. Also one of my previous monitors. 4K VA panel. Got USB-C port. I did compare it to my another IPS monitor. And yes. This VA panel is very comfortable to eyes. Good for office works and media consumption.

Here's the review.

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/benq/ew3270u

It's good for everything, except for gaming. If you are using the monitor for office use, especially for long hour usage. then this is highly recommended.

Here, this is the seller I bought the monitor from.

thanks will take a look at it

i'm only using 120cm x 60cm desk so 32" is kind of big for me ... tbh i wanted to go for 24" even but there's no good option so I have to try luck for 27"

Hi everyone, does anyone here have the MSI G274QPF-QD? Just wondering how does it fare in gaming as well as everyday usage?

Saw Hardware Unboxed's review of it and it seems to be on par with the popular Gigabyte M27Q-P.

It's currently priced at RM1.5K+. Was considering the M27Q-P but seeing that it goes out of stock often, I'm planning to get my hands on this model instead. Or should I top-up about RM100 for the LG 27GP850? hmm.gif

I used to use acer kg241q

It was very good for the value of money.

Did Acer release a newer better model, or anything similar comparable?

May i know anyone is using Viewsonic VX2882-4KP? Am considering between this model and LG 27UP850N.
I prefer 4k with USC-C (power supply) to be connected to MAC and Windows laptop.
VX2882 seems good in response time and Hz but LG's better in brightness, and contrast.
I will use the monitor for light gaming, web surfing and office work. Budget 1.5-1.8k.
Feel free to recommend other models if the specs and budget fit to my requirements.
Kindly advise. Thank you.

From this two, the Viewsonic VX2882-4KP came with good 150hz which was design for gaming but the HDR support will be bad as it is not even meet the minimum HDR 400. This monitor is only 300 cd/m² typ. The official website mentioned HDR10 Certified, this is marketing gimmick, and it means nothing. HDR10 is the base of HDR and every single display support HDR will need to support HDR10. Another weak point, the monitor is only 6-bit+FRC (16.7M colors) which doesn't meet another HDR requirement.

The LG 27UP850N only came with 60hz which is not design for gaming but the HDR in this monitor is actually slightly better as it meets the HDR 400 requirement, this monitor is 400 cd/m² typ which still don't put high hope on HDR performance as HDR need to be at least HDR 600 (600 cd/m² typ) to be looking good. This monitor at least is 10-bit / 8-bit+FRC (1.07B colors) which meet one of the HDR requirement.

Any display with below HDR 400 will look washed out in HDR and within HDR 400 will still facing not enough brightness in certain scenes scenario.

I will pick the LG 27UP850N from this two as every part LG is better except it is only 60hz.

Thanks for the comment. With my budget up to 1.8k, any other model which could meet my requirements? Besides 4k, i prefer the USB-C with power delivery at least 60W to work with my macbooks. I prefer to have screen that looks vivid, sufficient brightness. How about Asus PA or DELL? i dont mind to top up a little to gain model with significant value.

Thank you in advance for suggestions.

Your budget up to RM 1.8k? This is not even enough for purchasing the LG 27UP850N which cost RM 2.3k
For criteria prefer the USB-C with power delivery at least 60W, you need to check yourself as I never check on this part, also not many reviewers will talk about this.

You may check below recommendation; a good 4K display is price range from RM 2.3k ~ RM 6.3k
https://www.techspot.com/bestof/gaming-monitors-q4-2022/ or
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/best...ing-monitors-4k

For Best 4K display (sorry I did not check the USB-C feature). I will only recommend below 4 model
  • Gigabyte M28U - RM 2.3k
  • Gigabyte M32U - RM 3.2k
  • Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 - RM 5.4k
  • Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 - RM 6.3k

Hi everyone, any recommendations for mini LED equipped monitors below RM2000? Currently I'm using a 144Hz Acer VG270 but thinking of upgrading. Usage is mostly for videos and gaming.
