1/4 scale I-168 by, who else, Freeing ofc... She is just beyond adorable...The expression, pose, the uniform+swimsuit combo... But ofc, like most love affairs, this one ended in heartbreak too, when I saw the 20k yen pricetag... Oh,btw, she also comes with optional parts for damaged ver. (which Max Factory are also making)...



Freeing on the left, MF on the right...Love the tan on the MF ver. (or is it just the lighting...? ), and the paint they used for the swimsuit is probably closer to the real thing than the shiny one Freeing opted, but, and I can't believe I'm saying this...I prefer the Freeing ver. over MF...And now I'll just wait for after release to see if the price drops low enough for me to get her...

At least from these sample photos i agree FREEing's version looks better. Personally i think MF is probably rushing things; it's so unlike them to announce and make so many figures. They are the type who takes their sweet time from what i experienced so far.

Just hope MF didn't bite off more than they could chew...It would be a shame if their quality took a dip because of this...

Maybe they want to cater those low on budget; Prices of figures increasing may not have effect on us due to the exchange rates to yen is rather low, but that means inflation in Japan itself, where everything becomes expensive to them, not to mention the increase in taxes from 5 > 8% back in April. Intenational figure sales may not be affected as much but inside Japan itself domestic figure sales are affected. Nowadays it's also common to see standard and deluxe versions of figures, where "standard" versions are like budget versions without some godlike base or accessory. The Deluxe one is supposed to be the complete version of a particular figure instead of a premium version.
