Ok guys

Custom limit: http://xtremepassion.leladystore.com/?p=32
Taxable items: http://tariff.customs.gov.my/ (for toys use search criteria Item Description, keyword: toys

Might kena 5% or none, but abit mafan need to go to them to confirm
*
If i am not wrong is 5% (import) + 15% (sales tax)

That's why if bulk purchase, the chance of getting tax is higher and the savings from bulk purchase might not be enough to pay for the taxes.

I made a calculation comparison before in the previous thread but not sure what page; kena tax 10% or paying extra for shipping (by splitting into 2 parcels - if there are multiple figures in your package), there are almost no savings made - at most you save like a few hundred yen (only RM10 - 20+), small difference (depends la, to some people RM 10 is also big deal to them, but chump change to me - when compared to the overall value of your purchase).

As for group orders, you only truly save on group orders in shipping costs if you are lucky enough to avoid tax - which is impossible when you look at the release time frame of Ciel - December. If delayed, maybe January or latest February. Between Dec-Feb customs are hot on parcels trying to tax as many of them as possible because ppl doing business are importing lots of stuff, doing sales for Xmas and CNY. So, i dont recommend group order especially for Ciel, if the release date is any indication.

For expensive figures like Ciel i'd rather preorder from a local seller i know and no need to deal with risk of tax.
Only cheaper, under 12k yen figure that wont become rare i hunt for the cheapest deal after release. My Dark Olivia will be shipped out today, and including shipping costs, she cost me only RM 500 (i was also surprised). If a 13,800yen figure i can get at RM 500, Ciel will most likely end up costing about RM 600 maximum, not more. Barely an extra 2000yen.

-If you purchase from japan online store for Olivia the only option would be via EMS due to the large packaging. Normal add up to RM550 - RM650 provided you are lucky enough not to be taxed

Therefore the local store price would be more attractive because of the cost saving from the shipping charges. The only downside you only received Olivia is 3 months late.

So you would have to decide what you want, you want immediately then online store. If you can wait.. then can consider local store

Sales Tax is an indirect tax levied on certain imported and locally manufactured Source: KASTAM

I guess we would still need to pay for sales tax which soon well be replace with GST.

Correct me if i am wrong

The local store i have always keep eye on would be

Facebook
- figure hunter (nice seller, COD from seremban to connaught, save my shipping)
- frontier station
- hobby station
- eien no kiseki
- frozen figure store
- AF hobby (i saw some member boycott this already)

With dedicated website (google it)
- the figure mall
- shirotoy
- hobby network ( most expensive)
- toy panic

I always compare their price and see if it is worth to pre order locally or via japan site.

Btw, the figure mall are getting more expensive.

For my case, their stock specifically for Olivia was delayed, thats why today only ship out.
I also ordered Shibuya Rin from them (local seller) and 3 weeks after release already arrive.

Regarding the tax, i dont think it's 5 + 15%, cant be that high. The total is only 10% from what i know, because my friend got kena before. The rate may be different for those doing big business and stock in stuff in bulk.

Penang Island here. biggrin.gif
And I recognise that store, it's the one at Queensbay Mall..haha.

Anyways, I'll probably be getting Ciel from a local store. Btw, I know that Japan online stores can sell out very fast for hot items (like what happened to Dark Olivia), do local stores sell out quickly as well for hot items? I takut Ciel going to go like hot cakes.

Godeater is hot stuff (see how well Alphamax is making money off various variants of Alisa) so i can see Ciel being popular despite her price.
As for local stores, if you preorder sure no problem. Dark Olivia is available in AF Hobby, and also Frozen Figure Store. FF store stocked in a shitload of units of her but i dunno if those are for preorders or they do have some extras.

Yup, but as already mentioned a few times here, she is a bit wobbly...I'd normally expect figures fixed to the base to be a little more steady...I guess it can't be helped with the weight of them HUGE wings...I'm just worried that she might start leaning backwards due to the weight (and the hot weather which is supposed to get even hotter in the coming months)...

Many of my figures go back to boxes so i dont think i will have to worry about leans, and my display shelf is not that deep so a figure like Olivia would be leaning against the back wall of my shelf.
