I senget my head and see also macam okay woh. Left right seems balance. But I can understand the feeling, it is hard to avoid. Anyway, ring setting after all is handcrafted, there really could be minor "defects", but as far as your one is concerned, it looks good la. If at the end of the day still don't like, upgrade it to a better setting in the future looo. tongue.gif Like my one, resized liao become not so nice, so maybe will upgrade it again in the future.

It is glad that you are satisfied with it. If you have time, you may start to look for a "better box" IMO. Personally, I don't quite like that box.  tongue.gif (nothing against Eumayco, just personal preference).

Haha, time for taobao. The box really quite big in size.

An arm and a leg.

kambingkoh please help this guy before he falls into the trap.

Bro, read this up and see if it changes your mind about those "high keras" brands:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-43...vercharges.html

Here is the video if you are a TL;DR kind of guy.

Already know that, basically all branded stuffs charge premium price for their so called premium brand sad.gif

When it comes to proposal/marriage better get something that she would cherish. Do you think can get a 0.3c one at around 15k? hmm.gif

I seriously don't know the price for these. Don't have those premium jewelery shop here in Seremban for me to check out the price.
15k is my budget anyway, if manage to get a 0.4c at that price then I'll go for 0.4c moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif

Tiffany & Co probably can. You may refer to https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=68515027. By today, 15k should be able to grab you a 0.3ct, but I won't say it is in the colourless range, probably something within the near colourless range. Clairity wise, maybe VS2 and below. Just my guess.

The other 2 brands I am not sure. Probably more expensive.

Also, what is the "premium" you are willing to pay? A super ideal 0.3ct F color VS2 probably costs between USD 900 to USD 1000. A complete 0.3ct should cost you between RM 5500 to RM 6000 for simple solitaire design, which is what a classic Tiffany design is. Any upgrade in workmanship or side diamonds should also cost below RM 7500. I am already giving extra headroom in terms of diamond price and ring setting price. So if RM 15k is really the case, that means the brand costs RM 7500 at least, some more I highly doubt that you can a diamond that is as good as a super ideal. So in this case, is this the premium you willing to pay? It is entirely up to you because everyone has their own preference.

In case you still decide that you want to go with T&Co or other luxury brands, then feel free to share the diamond proportions here so we can help to take a look.

Spot on by the sifu. No wonder people here call you master.

notworthy.gif

Need to pay >50% of the total price just for the brand name. Some more it comes with a less than ideal diamond. Bro ac_N1, do your math based on sifu's advice above and see if getting a "branded" diamond is really justified. I know lahh the blue box and whatever can make a girl squeal in delight, but that's all about it. In your case, it is RM7,500 (at least) for a miserable box.

Ah ha. Found one of the earlier post:
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=68515027

13k for H color SI 0.4ct. That was few years back.

By the way, with your budget, you can probably get yourself a super ideal 0.4ct + designer ring setting, like Verragio. You can consider making a trip down to SG and visit Jann Paul. There are many other designer brands as well like Tacori, Benchmark, but I am not sure whether Jann Paul carries each of them. Designer rings are not cheap (at all) but one thing I know is that you can hae a guaranteed super performing diamond and a guaranteed ring quality. Besides, this makes your ring stands out than the usual bunch.

Appreciated all the input, but she's really into all these 'branded' stuffs, like bags, clothing, heels etc etc. I was thinking this is the one and only time to buy a diamond ring anyway, so don't really mind the price.

But if those ready made rings, where is the best place to get one? Habib? Tomei? Just considering my options....

Wah Chan is a good place to start. But it probably lacks the glamour. Unless your other half appreciate all the GIA/AGS cert and 4Cs stuff.
