Yes, u may cancel. I think Public Bank would always offer ppl it's credit card once you take their loan.

Yes because you never apply for the card and it is wrong for the bank to issue it to you without your consent. You can of course get it cancelled through email/call, but this will be shown in your record.

If you just act like nothing happen (like what your friend said), the GST may have been charged to your card.

CC to bank negara so that they take it seriously. Usually I just email to Bank Negara and let Bank Negara email to the bank.

Most likely, they will still cancel it (not withdrawn) and settle the GST..so it is up to you whether this is acceptable or not.

(or why not tell them to upgrade it to VS?)

Despite one CS staff, said no cash rebate for 'govt related' payment, I tested for one small bill.Then I called CS again to check specfically on that transaction, they said no again.. I said, pl go check with your supervisor/manager..Came back n said,,,very sure tak boleh altho it's online, there's a code that indicates it's for bill payment.

I am going to check my next statement to see how this goes.

you are given gold card which is useless, but the visa signature card is pretty good. so if you want, you can try to request the bank to upgrade it or else, withdraw it

Okay, I just re-read this post. You mentioned (1) the bank 'offer' to you but (2) ask you to go and collect. Both happen at the same time?
