Woah what a cheeky Glider! Aiming for the biggest target I see.

I had so much trouble last night. There is the ever torturous dilemma of cutting their nails. Since that has been impossible before, my friend and I tried using a nail file on Rene. Held her in a towel but she kept squirming. And then she got scared and angry and started biting! We can't even hold her still to file her nails!

Somebody please help! icon_question.gif I don't what to do to cut their nails. In fact I am out of ideas. I read somewhere last night that it is dangerous for the owners and the SGs themselves, to have long nails. The SGs nails will grow in a C-shaped curvature and might eventually be curved into its paws! As it is, they can't even run on any material without getting caught.

Afraid that they will one day, hurt themselves trying to break free from the material cry.gif

Any tips people?

Trim their nails when they're half asleep. With practice, you can finish the job in less than 5 minutes. If BabyBoy's in a super good mood, it can be done in 2 minutes flat. That's the time it takes to cut BabyBoy's nails -- all two feet and two hands. Before this, when I just started cutting his nails, it took me at least 30-40 minutes to finish the job. Patience... wub.gif

Edit:

For fun, I trimmed his nails. And I started at 7:04 and now it's 7:09 lol xD;

Wahh...u cut his legs as well? I dare not cut in case he needs the nails for climbing. But I've cut them yesterday, well only a small part, and it still hurts me. Hrm.... *massaging glider to sleep...* laugh.gif

Bring her along.... you saw my Kiah rite? I bring her everywhere I go, she now used to it and not stress. You slowly train your glider loh.

Feeding, you can ta pau a bit of glider mix in a small plastic container and feed or what i do is I buy cut fruits like papaya or red jambu or honey dew for Kiah to eat.

Well, he seems to be able to climb about fine with all his nails trimmed. I cut it at an angle so its not really that blunt. wub.gif

It'll be okay. My glider travels with me everywhere. I bring his bottle of water and an apple, pear or mango in my bag. I also have a little knife with me so I cut some fruits up for him to eat during lunchtime. I also have another small container with his mealworms in it.

It won't stress your glider out because they just basically sleep in the pouch and they get used to daily routines.

huhuhu..mine bit me today. This morning he's kind of cranky. Since he haven't bonded with me yet, shall I let him run free around my room? coz later he crabs or runs away when I try to catch him back to his cage. How else shall I bond with him since he likes to explore around and doesn't want to sit still?

My SGs are like that too! They would not sit still when they are brought out to play.

Now I am super jealous with all of you! Why is it that you guys have no problems cutting their nails? My SG will jerk their paws back when they feel something on their nails! Even if they are asleep.... how? Massaging the paws don't work either.
