Why sony in one year came out with 2 similar model? H7 and H9. I ve read a bad preview in dp for H9. Not impressive at all.

different price,different spec....but still H7/H9 improve abit and selling cheaper than H5

Cheaper? mengsuan mention the price is RM1699. Before I brought S3IS, I check the H5 first. It cost RM1699 also. When I read the bad preview of H5, straight I get the S3IS.

i finally got a camera. instead of buying the s3is i got the canon EOS 10d instead. YAY!!

Rm 1500 basic package with body only(New). i got free lens from my bro in law.
i initially asked him to buy the 350d but since 10d was better and in fact cheaper, he got this one. i dont know which shop in Tokyo he bought from though..

Btw, guys.. Is it worth waiting for Canon S5 IS? Heard it is announced that it will be release by the end of July (next month)...

if you want to wait then you have to wait for it to launch and wait for maybe a week up to a month for a good review

its not going to be cheap and will probably maintain the price for a month or so. if you add up all that, its going to be a few months before you might actually feel that its the best time to buy it

besides, i dont really think it is a big improvement over the s3is. the image quality might actually lose to the s3is due to its additional 2mp. unless u really really like a bigger screen. like the Sony h7/h9, though it is 8mp, i felt that image quality was disappointing. aggressive noise reduction meant that larger prints would not be appropriate. to me, the h5 (7mp) took clearer and sharper pics

end of the day, doesnt matter if s5is looks better than s3is on paper. based on the sample image i have seen on the canon website, the s5is's image quality is nothing to shout about. difference with s3is is minimal or unnoticeable. just my thoughts

just wait for review or buy the s3is, which has prove it is the best cam. in its class!

yea...its already discontinued. my bro found in in japan. no...its a new unit.
first retail price was USD1999 but street price was around USD 1500

Have you read those discussion about S5 in the other topics? It seems S5is sucks.

By right S5 should be much more better than S3. Since it's came with Digit3.

However, I found tht S3 ISO 400 & 800 noise is quite high too.

it really totally diff with all the consumer camera tht i used b4...
it's fast respond, shot, action. And a lots of thing to tune.
