But I think Canon no stock.

I ask everywhere also say they've ordered but Canon not yet send to then yet.

Yesterday I went to The Curve Canon, they said 30th June only the new stocks will arrive.

finally got my s3 today! bought from a mas stewardess who bought in nagoya japan a few months back. 1100, mint condition with a nice case, 1 gb bag, gp 2500 batteries & fuji charger. she had taken less than 200 photos on the cam, like new.

all my manuals are in japanese though! ;|

before meeting up with her i stopped by selgangor photo in pertama, they were willing to give me same deal for 1500 after hard bargaining. the sales guy was pushy, did not want to let me leave the store, was telling me i had to give him a deposit if i left without buying and wanted the same deal when i came back.. which is bullshit of course.. regardless, if anyone is looking, they should give you the same deal, cam, bag, 1gb sd, 4 batteries and charger for 1500.

in the end i chose to save 400 and go 2nd hand. love the camera!

i have put my plans to buy s3is on hold. i'm asking someone to get a camera from Japan. fz8 is about rm1010 over there. same goes for s3is

Buy Leica V-Lux1 instead its a FZ-50 with Leica processing.

hm...vlux too expensive but C Lux 2 is about RM1,4420 over there

M8 being a rangefinder is a totally different category and OOT in regards to this thread.
The V-Lux 1 is relevent by virtue its a prosumer/bridge class camera albeit at a MSRP usd850 which comes to about RM3k.......now wouldnt it be nice to have a Leica and brag about it for 'only' RM3k?

Btw i had the pleasure to hold and took some shots on the M8 in Pg, belongs to a fren who happens to be a Leica freak...they are a different breed indeed.

hm... its true that m8 is in a different category. it would be really nice if i could afford the V-lux 1 though. if money wasn't a factor =(
besides, i really wanted to know whether fz50 or fujis9600 was better considering that they have similar prices. anything more expensive would have me eating bread for a month
