Thanks.. so far i tried the 550 UZ the Is not that good, image quality is so okay,focal length quite good lah,i havent tried the fz8 yet but i know that is just abit better then fz7 which i played with the fz7 VS s3 IS.  S3 IS seems to be better |

In even in recent reviews, it seems that the S3IS beats even the FZ-8. Funny..... Imagine now that the S5IS is out. But Im still bit@hing about the lack of RAW format.....  |

hmm....the fz8 is quite a good camera.. comes with adapter and lens hood too...but i still prefer s3is due to it being powered by AA batteries. Li ion batteries expensive. the fz8 leica lenses provide quite good images as well
basically, it boils down to individual preference...

ya, seems that 550UZ is out of the pic... Thanks for your opinions... Well, between FZ8 and S3 IS... Have you guys personally used both of em before, at least can have a head-to-head comparison... I dont like noise oh... Canon seems to have very good customer service.. hehe...

why this camera not came with nicd battery ? i mean rechargeable battery instead of using aa battery ya ? any idea ? i thought using nicd/nimh can get long time ( more snap ) ?

Out of budget lar... too expensive i just tested both s3is and fz8 yesterday. in terms of design i preferred fz8 over the s3is. the EV and LCD of Fz8 is much better due to the higher resolution. but the s3 has the articulated lcd(which i love). s3 is much heavier. but if the design is unimportant then s3 might be a better choice. Since you dont like noise in your pictures then s3 should be better. You can notice some noise even in IS0 100 for the fz8. video recording for s3 is excellent as well. overall, i would say that s3 is a better bargain since price is almost similar. well....its just my personal opinion. some might disagree so the best advice is for you test it out personally in any shop. =) |

yes...without the fatty 4 AA battery....it is still heavier than the fz8. =)
in fact the fz8 with its lithium battery still lighter than the s3 without batteries!

hahaha Weight (no batt) 310 g for fz8 Weight (no batt) 410 g for s3is plus battery and sd card fz8 weighs in at 357 g hence still lighter than s3is maybe i shouldn't use the word MUCH then  |

Heavy is not an issue for me. The heavy it is, the more steady I can hold the cam... More stable shots... Like DSLR. Keke... |
