Need some info from the game gurus here steam recently had a sale for Ryse Son Of Rome, grabbed it and installed as i run the game the video settings are at default ultra. So i tested the game was severely stuttering after tweaking to from high all the way to low its still stuttering badly.

My pc specs is amd 8350, 16gb of ram and cfx r9 270x. I notice the texture detail is at very high and the option cant be changed its locked at very high. My drivers are the latest omega drivers.

I also noticed my hdd activity is very high, suspect thats causing the stuttering im assuming 16gb of ram is way sufficient for that game.

Anybody here tested this game, it looks awesome but the massive stuttering cause the game to be unplayable, i have also tried running single gpu problem still occurs

Ryse: Son of Rome comes with a very high set of textures that Crytek has locked for GPUs that pack 3GB of VRAM and above. Since we know that a lot of gamers would like to enable them even with GPUs that feature less than 3GB of VRAM, we present you below a way to do so. Do note that there might be some stuttering side effects due to the increased amount of VRAM required for those textures.

All you have to do is add the following command lines under “sys_localization_folder=Localization” in your system.cfg file.

“sys_spec_texture=4
sys_spec_textureresolution=4″

By doing this, your in-game Texture option will be set at Very High settings. And while the in-game option is clearly set to Very High, we do have to note that – and while there is a slight increase in VRAM usage – we did not notice any major differences between Very High and High.

Maybe bugged game VRAM detection? CFX 2GB is still 2GB, maybe the game thought it was 4GB and set to higher texture packs. If VRAM is not enough then they will be alot texture data swapping between GPU's VRAM and system RAM, causing alot stuttering...

Maybe change both of them to 2 or 3, maybe means high or medium.

I'm having mantle issue with my graphic card, i'm trying to run mantle Star Swarm Stress Test but it pop up a message as attached, had tried to reinstalled the Omega driver but still same 

Do you have any other Mantle game to test?

Testing with BF4, no option to choose mantle or direct3d which suppose will be appeared. I read through other forum mantle still not supporting crossfire but i had disable the crossfire in CCC still no luck, someone suggesting leave one card to test, problem is my rig is watercooled, to take out a card is a big project 

Did u try reinstalling the driver using latest DDU?

It's either corrupted drivers or faulty graphic card. I'm guessing you can run it with DX, then I think it's corrupted drivers. Wipe out existing AMD driver using DDU in safe mode & re-install drivers.

I'm able to run with DX, had been cleaned up the driver by DDU and reinstalled but still no luck, do u able to run the test with CF  config?

Star Swarm? Yes, I can run the test using Mantle with CFX enabled but only one GPU is being utilized of course.

That means something wrong with my pc, strange i can run games & benchmark sw with DX perfectly, i don't think is the graphic card malfunction right?
