i think they don't split in 95:5 ratio;

so to deposit 9.5k into FD, you need 475 in saving account.

But ya, whatever in the CASA can't go back into your FD from what i understand.
*
so lets say if you withdraw RM10 from the RM475, the FD interest will be forfeited somehow?

from this article = http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/busines...debt-risk-grows , looks like there'll be 2 increases = "Most economists expect a 0.25% hike when the central bank meets on Thursday, followed by another as early as September."

Customer is required to hold new funds in RHB Current / Savings Account (CASA) as prescribed in
Clause 4. FD and CASA placement must be exercised on the same day. If the holding on the CASA
account is uplifted, customer will not be entitled to the Promotion Rates. RHB reserves the right at its
discretion to accord the FD Promotional Rate with our prevailing 3-month FD board rate respectively.

Question is; is this for the 3 months rate or total 15 month all follow board rate.

Also just realized you need to maintain CASA for 15 months as they deposit the interest every 3 months into CASA.

I will wait until the D day only decide, maybe rate go higher again tongue.gif

Bank Negara Malaysia will increase borrowing costs to 3.25 per cent from three per cent on July 10, according to 14 of 19 economists surveyed by Bloomberg.

Oh okay. So since the min placement is RM10000 to FD alone, i will need to bring another RM500 for the CASA. Man, I hate this CASA thingy  biggrin.gif
*
Hence why it's call the stupid CASA thingy. laugh.gif

Some banks will do the ratio thing, some will be % of your FD placement into CASA.

hello fellow sifus here
i have a question i hope sifus can help answering

im planning to withdraw my FD which has matured in the month of June 1st
can i know what are the consequences of doing this ?
am i really just losing the interest of June or are there other penalties ?

or is it better to wait for my FD to mature ? do i have to call them to stop renewing upon maturing ?
my FD placement is on 6 months auto renewal basis with public bank
*
Most likely just lost out on the interest earned from June 1st until now.

Previous CASA FD promo is not so attractive but now it breaks the 4% barrier drool.gif If there is not much change of FD rate after OPR meeting, i will move some FD from BR to RHB dy. The new RHB branch at my place is opposite a shopping mall and has ample parking space biggrin.gif

seems like RHB has improved their 15 months promo;

http://www.rhb.com.my/Whats_New/deposits/s...D/#.U7pHrZSSzyQ

((3.48/1.05) + 3.68 + 3.88 + 4.08 + 5.38))/5 = 4.067%

First FD promo to breach 4% mark but 5% have to maintain in CASA for 90 days biggrin.gif

I had a saving and FD in Rhb.
Is it mean my current saving can be used to at as the requirements for CASA?

Yup. Any current or saving accounts will do. Unless their T&C says otherwise.

The OPR increase is more and more apparent now. Ringgit is showing signs for last few days and this morning strengthen to 3.179/3.181 versus the greenback from yesterday's 3.188/3.190

I think cannot transfer from CASA to FD, the 5% can only withdraw?

Easiest account to maintain should be as below;

For the high rollers FD-ing RM400k and need to CASA RM20k with RHB, be sure to use RHB's MaxCa$h current account. Higher interest.

First RM20,000 in MaxCa$h Account is non-interest bearing irrespective of account balance.

Means, can't transfer from saving account to FD?
