QUOTE(bbgoat @ Apr 21 2014, 12:34 PM) Should be OCBC promotion. Please check 1st page. Ya read through. Sorry not familiar with FD promotion thingy. For OCBC promo, option 1, it's mention tenure 18 months. 6 months : 3.6 % and remain 12 months is 4%. What happen after 18 months? I normally put my FD 5-10 years . QUOTE(bbgoat @ Apr 21 2014, 04:40 PM) Ha, interesting. So you normally put for 5-10 years ? Which are the banks that your normally use and getting good rates ? Just trying to learn from the "veterans" as so far I have not put any FD >2 years. Haha... Not veterans. For me FD is FD (fixed) .so I didn't touch. Used it once when I bought my house after so many years. After the 18 months, withdraw and find another FD promotion. For me , any good rates definitely couldn't beat our country inflation which roughly >8% (my own way of calculation, no supporting facts, haha) . Just for better savings. |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Jul 7 2014, 03:09 PM) seems like RHB has improved their 15 months promo; I had a saving and FD in Rhb. http://www.rhb.com.my/Whats_New/deposits/s...D/#.U7pHrZSSzyQ ((3.48/1.05) + 3.68 + 3.88 + 4.08 + 5.38))/5 = 4.067% First FD promo to breach 4% mark but 5% have to maintain in CASA for 90 days Is it mean my current saving can be used to at as the requirements for CASA? |

Since all my. FD is auto renewal upon maturity period, so the bank will automatically adjust the fd rate accordingly right due to OPR increase right?

Noob question.
If i wanna change FD from Branch A and Branch B, (same bank), I just go to the branch and tell the staff there. So they will do the necessary right? Do i need to physically take the FD money (bank draft or cheque) from Branch A then bring it to branch B to open a new FD account there ?? Thank you. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Aug 19 2014, 01:27 PM) Before you bring your FD receipt to B, call up B and ask these two questions: 1. Can I withdraw branch A FD at your branch ? If answer is yes, proceed to ask 2nd question. 2. Is there a inter branch withdrawal limit ? Different bank have different inter-branch withdrawal policy. QUOTE(gsc @ Aug 19 2014, 12:06 PM) Most banks operate different branches different FD account account. Thank you thank you. There is one bank allowed opening account in branch A but can top up or do other operations in branch B. I think it is OCBC bank. Correct me if I am wrong coz I remember I did FD banking in two different branches. In your case if you have saving account, you need to withdraw from branch A, IBG to saving account and go to branch B to open FD account. Alternatively you can use banker cheque. Different rate of charges for IBG or banker cheque. But the different is not much. IBG has to be done before 12 noon to ensure the fund is in on the same day. Will go and ask the bank |
