Me got new fishie but first up, I desanitize the tank + plants + gravel with extra heaps of salt - concentrated salt solution and a couple of hours in the hot sun. Just to be on the safe side, my current fish is now swimming in Melafix and Interpet No 9. Will get him on "regular" water by Wednesday/next water change.

hehe evilD, this spawn alot of them red wash. Clean pieces very few so I have to ask Sumaika how much he wanna sell. He might not even wanna sell the clean ones yet cause so few pieces.
How are you fish doing? Good? Spawn already or not? Andrew spawned his pair from Yewlin already. So fast! Meiteoh: Your fish looks nice. Is it a PK as well? I hope his swimming problem is only a physical trait and not a disease. Let's keep our fingers crossed. The one thing bad about pet shop bettas is that they more likely than not are already incubating some form of disease or another. The bottles they keep the fish in are never washed. Just throw the water out and refill. And those from the farms are thrown away if sick but if the whole batch has been exposed to a sick fish they quickly sell the fish before symptoms show. Getting bettas from home breeders means a few things: 1. It is safer because the seller would like to keep his image and name clean. 2. You will get pure lines. 3. You know where they fish came from and what the siblings look like. 4.You make frens with the breeder. Next time, you can ask for advise personally from the breeder. |

He might not even wanna sell the clean ones yet cause so few pieces. I had a fail attempt on breeding them coz i can't bear to let the female get torn to pieces How are you fish doing? Good? Spawn already or not? Andrew spawned his pair from Yewlin already. So fast! so i abandon that attempt and never did really condition them well enough so no spawn yet...furthermore these days the daphnia supply is unpredictable so i dun dare to spawn yet as i scare the entire spawn kong during the daphnia drought...need to find alternative fry food first. Regarding the copper, i dun mind if it's not clean as i intend to use them in an experimental project...btw how's da imbellis any extra to spare? If I didn't have my current fish, I would settle for no 1.
