hehe yea la that's true. anyway mine's a normal veiltail and i don't have any custom tank to take pictures, so it will only flare when it looks at me so, how to take picture? can only see his face, not the whole body haha.

most of my betta are in plastic container so i also don't have custom tank to take picture also....i just use mirror to make them flare lor LOL....

well, you've got one nice 'plastic' container in your pictures. hmm i might try the mirror trick too if i can find a proper jar, but then who wants to see a veiltail anyway? lol.

Erm, maybe to stress? Did u place ur female betta with another fish(another female/male? other species)? Try place ur new female in her own container, I find females live better and longer lives that way... Altho, keep in mind that once u let a female betta have her own container, she will not be able to mix with other fish cuz she will tend to fight just like a male fish flex.gif

siGh* - someone has previously told me that its due to stress, but it seems that my female is 'stressed' everytime it sees a male since day one - i've had it for more than a month now. doh.gif Her stress is making me stress shakehead.gif. She got her own jar and all - WC every 3 days - 2 good meals a day and she's STRESSED. Can anyone help with this?

good website there, normally bettas live about 2-3 years, some even longer. it's ok if you don't put anything inside, even if you do, it's only for your decoration. the betta won't appreciate it tongue.gif some floating plants will be better i think. as for the green and brown thing, i think you're referring to algae and that can't be helped. just clean the tank frequently, change the water about once or twice a week.

LOL.. Well keep her away from other fish for a while, maybe a week? I too have a female betta who gets stressed quite often too. Whenever I see her vertical stripes appear, I keep her container aside so she cant see any other fish. Let her be alone for a week, then she'll be okay d. biggrin.gif This female also gets stressed when she overeats.. She keeps eating and eating like a piggy, then becomes stressed due to bloat I think. So now I ration her food very carefully and feed hr only half of what she usually eats. rolleyes.gif

Hm, betta tank no need deco at all.. IN fact, FAKE plants are bad for bettas.. Because bettas have long fins, which tear very easily on the fake plants.. So.. If u wana put a plant, a REAL plant is better as a real plant is soft..

As for those big tanks, I have no idea how to maintain them. unsure.gif

i still feed her quite alot - and prolly let the males flare at her for 10 mins a days - problem both females is that neither has ever shown any verticals yet - only horizontals despite the fact that the eggs are falling out.
