QUOTE(shecapricorn @ Jul 8 2008, 03:03 PM) NO LA yuck la i dun use my mouth of course lol... I apply a little physics that i learned in form 5.. lol.. before u put the straw in the water, plug/block one end with ur thumb then only put the straw in the water. To suck up the fish poo, release ur thumb and let the atmospheric pressure outside the strw do its work, water and poo will be auto sucked up into the straw - and quickly, while the water is being sucked up halfway thru the straw, immediately block the top end of the straw again to transfer the dirty water and fish poo into another container. After u suction all the fish poo adi then u can throw away the fish poo into ur potted plants lol I did that for mine that were in a bottle - problem was when the tube went in, they were all so excited that they kept swirling around until even the poo was flying like crazy |

QUOTE(kenji_britney @ Jul 8 2008, 03:24 PM) oh you using the syphon method.. your straw has to be pretty long though. for it to work, the outer part of the straw has to be longer than the part inside the water. they don't harm anything - they just make it harder for me to clean them with their overdose of enthusiasm*edit - you're not using the syphon method, just realised lol.. well yours will be pretty tedious but it'll work too. the fastest is probably the syphon method which you place those flexible straws, shorter end in the water and longer end outside (with water in the straws also), then release your finger at the outer part of the straw then the water will automatically be sucked out. i use it for my little pond using a short garden hose. shouldn't be any harm if they bite the tube mah, my fish likes to nibble on my finger cause they're so used to me feeding them with mosquitoes that whenever they see my finger they think i got mosquito for them so they bite lol. and it's not painful, just like normal fish nibble so i doubt that they'll bring any harm to your straws/tube. |

QUOTE(shecapricorn @ Jul 8 2008, 10:59 PM) I cant use the syphon method for my case, because i dun keep my fishes in a really big jar lol.. i clean my water almost everyday so its not tedious for me:P sure you can - i do the syphon thingy for mine too. even for my mini aquariums - just use the flexible tubes they sell for the air pumps to syphon. its easier except that my boys always too excited and stir the water all they way up until all the poo flying around |

Spent most of the day going round - but couldn't find anything near Jaya 33. Looking for a decent female CT - anyone got any pointers where I should go? Need to get soon, by Wednesday actually. Cos I won't be able to go get it for at least 2 - 3 weeks if i don't get it by then.

QUOTE(ynneb25 @ Jul 17 2008, 12:40 PM) siGh* - someone has previously told me that its due to stress, but it seems that my female is 'stressed' everytime it sees a male since day one - i've had it for more than a month now. This post has been edited by blackfuzzy: Jul 17 2008, 05:58 PM |

LOL.. Well keep her away from other fish for a while, maybe a week? I too have a female betta who gets stressed quite often too. Whenever I see her vertical stripes appear, I keep her container aside so she cant see any other fish. Let her be alone for a week, then she'll be okay d. i still feed her quite alot - and prolly let the males flare at her for 10 mins a days - problem both females is that neither has ever shown any verticals yet - only horizontals despite the fact that the eggs are falling out. |

QUOTE(mengdez @ Jul 18 2008, 10:48 PM) I am not a pure Betta breeder, i am Guppy breeder. On screen your guppies look more like swordtails Below are the guppy i breed, Albino Full Red. [attachmentid=532495] [attachmentid=532496] [attachmentid=532497] Well, to breed a guppy is lot easier than Betta, you know guppy don't spawn eggs. |
