Why MT users are crying?
At first I thought of getting MT Exec, because of the budget. The turbo premium seems tempting too. And now I don't know which to choose.  sweat.gif
So what's with AT?

Turbo owners.. Seriously, don't be elitists.

I am one of the Preve Executive owners that is actually satisfied with the non-turbo IAFM+ engine. No regrets.

NO DOUBT, the CFE would definitely be more powerful.

BUT, not everyone:
- Want to own a turbo engine. Which equals more problems if problems ever arise. And more $$ to maintain.

- Need that extra power. - Just like me. (I am not saying this to brag, just to make my point.) Having driven a sleeper turbo car for the past few years, I have lesser craze for power now. Because power will never be enough, there will always be someone faster than you. UNLESS you only know how to cowardly bully smaller car. tongue.gif Which brings me to my next point below.

- Have or Want to spend that extra RM10k. To me, not worth spending that money to satisfy road ego. Rather spend on other stuff.

To be honest, my opinion, the IAFM+ is not as underpowered as people think. Power, very subjective. It is not very fast, but neither is it 'underpowered'. It's good enough for a comfortable drive.

Peace.

Not sharing the same opinion doesn't necessarily make one an elitist. I totally understand there will be others who will be completely satisfied with their non-Turbo model, though that doesn't change my earlier thoughts on the Turbo vs non-Turbo models.

And to reply to your points above.

The Turbo engine of the Campro may be unreliable and break down sometime in the near future which means more money. Reliabilty is anyone's guess. It is good to be cautious, though I would say maintenance is something that any vehicle will need to take account for. It's just that some vehicles or models will require higher maintenance than others. For a Proton, I believe it will still be cheap even for a Turbo model considering it is mass-produced, unlike imported models where parts come from foreign countries.

As for power, it is true there will be other vehicles that will be quicker. Though I am not thinking in the same lines as yourself in "bullying" smaller or weaker cars. Or to satisfy road ego. To me, it is for our own driving satisfaction. IN having more power in a vehicle, that doesn't mean the driver will want to intimidate other motorists on the road or drive like a maniac and show off. More power equates to better drivability as the additional power on tap will be useful for many driving conditions on the road, though one may argue it may not be useful. I am fine with that.

Not too sure what are the "other" stuff you would rather spend your RM10k on if not the Turbo model.

Yes, agreed power is subjective.

city driving a headache. the second gear feels like it really deserve another additional ratio.

highway cruising rpm is higher than CVT equivalent, but not as bad as other MT cars in the market. stilla cceptable. happy.gif

About to go for my 1K service. Would like to seek your opinions, should I go with the service booklet that states the 2nd service schedule will be at 10K or should I go for the usual practice of 5K service followed by 10K service. Reason for asking is if I were to opt for 2nd service at 10K, I would use full-synth EO else will opt for Semi-Synth EO. What do you guys think?

mine is 2014 model.
idk how to explain, but 2nd gear doesnt feels like 2nd gear. sometimes need to shift to 1st gear for the car to move faster.
maybe it's due to the kerb weight rclxub.gif

For me 5th gear is a little bit slow.
Need to shift to 4th gear to really pickup speed.
Easily can reached 160 with the 4th gear.

Could be struts or the springs may not be seated properly if everything else checks out. smile.gif
