Hmm, for my side, i am happy with my non-turbo so far as i am more into fuel saving. oucch.. but to be honest, have to b careful in using a proton as its not really good for a rough usage.

I just spoil my front light adjuster with a slightly sharp screw driver. i am not aware that they are using a rubber screw hole as i am dong that at night. Well i was a bit harsh to my car tat time T,T . So, U have to care ur proton like a baby as u like how u take care of the milo tin body. than u can be a happy owner like me.. with my grief toward my headlight T,T

I had my advise from an engineer in peugeot who is loyal to proton ever since he bought a car. Proton could be the best affordable car as long as u are using the original part. Once china part come in, the car can be die after few years for some trouble lead by the replicate part.

u driving preve exec?
i think only saga sound like milo tin now.. the persona/preve/suprima door thump is very solid.. as is the whole car..
any car pun if u just pakai without maintaining memg die la... proton original parts are not that expensive i think...

Hi Guys, I have been trying to find out which model of the Player that my Preve Premium uses but with no result. What is the model of the player? Or should I say Lokatoo player?
Also, I have read in some of the forums that our Lokatoo can be upgraded to Garmin or Papago. Any idea who, where or how to get this done? I personally feel the Lokatoo is no where in comparison to the Garmin or Papago that I use currently in my other cars.

ya.. mine is an exec. i read the manual and knw that they have strong frame but i am not sure about the covering metal. Yup, i did my research before i buy this car. the original part is only guarantee by proton service center. not those outside 1. though the part could be cheaper compared to the imported car. but some of them still cost some money during the major services. but that could en-longed your car lifespan.

u had my vote, go and get 1!! lolx

yup due to the top notch safety, thats why i`m willing to stretch my budget and upgrade from persona sv.

CFE off my budget too much, though i know its better value.
*
thesafety comes with weight penalty.. preve weight 1.3ton meanwhile the persona is just 1.1ton...

sorry... the preve comes with campro iafm+ and persona is with campro iafm.. iafm+ is tuned to match the cvt.. iafm is tuned for 4AT..

if money is a concern, go for persona sv..
not too bad fc.. handling even better than suprima... comfier ride than suprima.. against preve i dont know..
the engine is the same as the preve exec...

persona is one of the best value for money car.. if u can get it...
preve pun value for money... if preve, the cfe is more matched to the cvt box...
*
Persona is IAFM bro...
Preve exec is IAFM+...similar with Saga SE 1.6.

Hey, I have an issue here before i go for some checking in the service center.

I own a non-turbo auto preve.

Just recently, I can here a heavy sound "clak" for everyt time of approaching the first 40km/h after a cold start.
I've been observing this for approx 3 weeks already. There will be no other sound after this situation until another cold start, it would repeat.
I wonder what is the problem, did u guys have this kind of problem and how u guys deal with it?
*
One time clak is normal. Mine is about 20 km/h.

IAFM+ engine are tuned for usage with CVT..
IAFM was the original variant before proton started using CVT gearboxes..

quote from wikipedia:
QUOTE
The CamPro IAFM (Intake Air-Fuel Module) is essentially a basic DOHC CamPro engine equipped with a variable-length intake manifold, developed under a joint fast track programme that began in April 2005 by EPMB, Bosch and Proton

QUOTE
The second-generation Campro IAFM engine, known as IAFM+ engine, was debuted in the 2011 Proton Saga FLX.[7] The new IAFM+ engine is tweaked to be paired with the new CVT gearbox by Punch Powertrain that requires the maximum operating engine speed to be reduced from the previous 6,500 rpm in the first-generation IAFM engine to only 6,000 rpm.[8] As a result, the 1.3L IAFM+ engine produces 94 bhp (70 kW) @ 5,750 rpm of horsepower and 120 N·m (89 ft·lbf) of torque, while the 1.6L IAFM+ engine produces 108 bhp (81 kW) @ 5,750 rpm of horsepower and 150 N·m (110 ft·lbf) of torque.[9][10] The combination of the new Campro IAFM+ engine with the CVT gearbox results 4% and 10% reduction on fuel consumption for urban and highway driving respectively.[7]

get the preve because it's a newer design, 5 star Ancap certified and have much more safety features than the persona...that's my take...I too considered the above factors before deciding preve is the car for my wife

and she love driving it as she feels it's really solid and safe biggrin.gif

its still the same engine.. just different tuning.. value comes down to u...
like some say, preve is of newer design, better safety features, and not too bad fc... maintenance wise i think its almost similar to persona..
have u test driven both?
which one do u like more?
if asking me, go for preve... the exec has enough power to take u to topspeed... but not in a hurry...

Preve Premium CFE? It is from Bosch. Called Bosch Multimedia Compact. Cannot be changed to Garmin of Papago. Better get a new head unit if you want to change the GPS.

It is also used by Suzuki SX4 Style:

Opel Corsa:

And Nissan, with some UI update:

And you must have heard it, "Please drive onto a digitised road" biggrin.gif
