if you install your windows in C:\ then your base directory (or root directory) is C:\. drivers and certain components are required to be at root directory in order to function correctly.
a quick hack to go about testing windows environment variable without visiting registry editor (plus all those security warnings and prompts while reaching there)
start menu -> key in "cmd" at the search bar -> key into the command prompt "echo _____" (fill in the blanks, without the double quotes)
it will write the correspondence file path out
some windows environment variables can be referred in link below
http://libertyboy.free.fr/computing/reference/envariables/- or -
right click 'my computer' and select property -> select 'Advance property' (on the left) -> 'advance' tab -> 'environment variables' button
take note that not all are covered in the list and, while changing some of the variables *may* offload work on C:\ (such as moving 'temp' folder to HDD), some are not recommended to change as it would screw up your OS
before doing any drastic changes, do spend some time to read and understand the consequences for each adjustments u made to offload SSD I/O
I will make pointers to study this. Do you know of any newbie-friendly sources?

Dude ramdrive is silly. Cause if its a repeat job its just gonna always image back from ure ssd. So whats the point.
Just disable pagefile, prefetch, superfetch etc.
Although some games/program requires it. Hibernation requires pagefile. The amount is reflected based on ure ram state.
Dont worry about nand write wears. I have pushed ssds to their nand limits. Formating ssds once in a blue moon is fine as well. Just make sure defrag is not enabled.
As for temps.. This is the side cost for cheaper ssds with smaller nand fabrication..
My old x25m in my destop were 20s. Now corsair neutron gtx, xt, crucial mx100, mx200 all sit at 30s .Mind you this is on a tj11 in a room that has 24/7 ac at ambient temp 19.2c.
Use them. Chuck them. Paid rm900 for 80gb few years back. Now can get 512gb. Last year thats the cost for 256gb. So dont worry about it.
Newer ssds allow sleep on raid example mx200. Use them.
Your temperatures sit at 30s, mine is almost double. That's why i'm worried, and I don't sit in air cond rooms.

I use Dataram Ramdrive to create the Ramdrive(http://memory.dataram.com/products-and-services/software/ramdisk)
It is actually a very simple process just key in how much RAM you want to allocate to the drive and you are good to go. The good part for Dataram solution is it can even create an image for the ramdrive you used before shutting down windows. I don't need that feature so I disable it instead.
Last time, the free edition used to be able to support up to 4GB. Now they reduce it to only 1GB. But hey, it is very cheap so i bought the license which enable me to create up to 32GB Ramdrive.
After installing and starting the Ramdrive, go to windows advanced setting and set the page file to it. You can watch your system fly then.
I see. I shall study it, since like another forumer has posted that there are pros and cons to that.
