yes, the mibox pro, I tried to switch the video acceleration to software decoding. I was able to watch youtube (video + audio) nut after I installed fusion and Mash up even with software acceleration on I lost all streaming video (including youtube) except audio.
Shall I wait for the "Kodi" version?

Have you rooted it?
It should be able to play your videos on hw accelaration without any problems once xbmc is granted permission
So far it can play my 1080p/720 mkv movies collection just fine, might need connect to lan connection for better streaming speed
My only problem is sometimes xbmc stops playing the movie , but I can still resume it again
Gonna try the latest nightly build, the one i have installed on my mibox pro is from last month.
Btw, did you manage to get the xiaomi wifi router? Cheapest ac wifi router yet

At this moment I am just trying to play around with the box, have not tried to play any MKV files. Will do it later and let you know. Normally watching movie, I am still using AC Ryan Play on.
*
i have several players to play mkv, flac, iso, bmdv files - bd players, androids, media players.
imo, ac ryan no doubt delivers the best video and audio. keep playing it! thumbup.gif

You can install the APK for Astro-on-the-Go on Android XBMC box, then launch it either from Programs or Favourites. Since it's for mobile, quality is also mobile.  laugh.gif

no ler... waste of time...

already tried astro-on-the-go and hypptv everywhere apps on androidtv direct... ya - mobile quality! biggrin.gif

can't expect them to be better via xbmc.

Interesting. This box have the potential to be the smallest and ultimate XBMC HTPC. Run Win 8.1 on it and you can do Netflix in Full HD as well, and launch it from XBMC.

Hmmm... HyppTV Everywhere has both Tablet and Phone version. What if you install the tablet version instead of phone version? On my iPad, using the HyppTV for iPad version can usually get better PQ, which is important due to Retina resolution (2048x1536).

i installed tablet version on both ipad and androidtv box.
i guess ok for ipad as screen is small.
for tv, it's not of a quality i will watch.
also, many channels not available with these apk's.
anyway, i installed that just to try, learn something.
the stb works good, the hd ones are good enough.

hi all

very new to XBMC (maybe less than 3days old) and spent past days reading up this thread from page 1 to 39 - wow a lot of good info

i installed XBMC Gotham on my Android box, the Techgear MB932 which I bought maybe less than 2yrs ago. Wonder if anyone is using the same device? The device itself can sometimes be laggy (haven't even open XBMC yet) but other times can be fast, not sure why. And also the wireless connection is not too good although I'm using a 10mbps Maxis Home Fiber connection. When launching XBMC and after browsing in there for movies/channels, the internet connection sometimes would hang and I would end up having to reboot the player to restore the internet - has anyone had the same issue?

anyway, i reverted to an alternative, which was to install XBMC Gotham on my PC, running Windows 8.1 - managed to do everything smoothly and also installed the MashUp add-on - but the only issue I have is that movies or tv channels tend to buffer a lot...while watching, maybe every 5-10mins it will buffer, and play again....not sure how to overcome this? and whether its an issue with my internet connection (using wifi), the configuration settings on XBMC perhaps? wonder whats the best settings for an optimal tweak of the app, or maybe it was an issue with MashUp itself?

i like MashUp for the interface, can maybe anyone recommend similar add-ons like MashUp which are maybe better in streaming performance and content?

Thanks in advance!

welcome to the club.

yr broadband is gud, not the cause of the issues.

yr 2 old box... updated firmware might help.... likely not fully supported by xbmc but should be able to make it work with gotham.
about hanging n lagging, try this: go to settings, video. Set to expert level. Find the video acceleration option, disable media codec.

mashup is the best, there is no other like it. if u want more, dun forget to explore under mashup settings, home layout to see if u hv activated all that u want, then save ok.

gotham on pc... my experience with my old pc is same.... buffering all the time. other users might give u some tips...

btw, does using proxy (like Unotelly) or using the Google DNS, make the streaming any better?

Try to watch the video from video source such as 180upload, hugefiles, etc, but you will need to use Google DNS 8.8.8.8 in order to access to those video sharing site, due to most ISP such as TMNet blocked these video sharing site.

If you are using Unifi, try to disable IPv6 in your router and use only IPv4, and try to get the IP start with 175.x.x.x.

Unotelly won't help much, but VPN probably yes. smile.gif

180upload, hugefiles are sources of the same movie or show, many of them.
some dun work at all, some work sometimes, some require captcha.
e.g. mashup... Tv latest... Newmyvideolimks... Extant.s01e12
then, u see all the available links, hd or sd, many sources incl hugefiles, etc.

my experience, best are hugefiles n movreel.

180upload requires captcha, but not too difficult to read the image given, movreel however direct access. Usually ppl will go to sources without captcha, thus less crowd to sites that required one that make it better advantage in smooth streaming, I guess. But overall, 180upload and movreel are my fav sources. Billion upload is just crap, most of the time giving error.
