Sometimes I have the bottom menu (play , stop etc buttons, time scroll line) on the screen for a long time. Like to know how I can make it disappear. I know that it disappears by itself if the screen is inactive. Sometimes that happens and sometimes it stays. Annoying at times when watching a movie.

Thanks.

press "return" button - the upper right button in the center of the remote surrounding the center circle with OK.

that button is essentially "escape".

Thanks.

I have tried a few steps before. Cannot remember which steps now. Just remember that it resulted in opening other pages and that ruined my movie watching! Ha.

Will try the 2 options mentioned.

Thanks.

play around with the remote.

there are many features u will not know unless u try them, incl the lower right of the center labeled "menu".

and the features can be diff when playing diff apps.

lastly, neither mouse nor remote alone offer all features- u need both to get all of it for diff apps.

Does any one know if XBMC/KODI has released a version for a clustered RPi environment? I would really love to test that on my miniature soldiers. happy.gif

Installing apps on the TV box will require granting the software some access to files (images etc), usage data etc.

I know that is the the norm with mobile phones now.

With streaming from Hdisk to the box, can the software then have access to the hdisk?

One may be opening access to others without really realising it.

Cheerio.

No concern on Kodi getting the data from HD.

Concern is the installed apps (the ones which asked for some access during installation) having access to the HD data.

Its the same.
As long as hdd is mounted then any apps u installed also able to access it if they want, even if the apps was installed prior to u plug in hdd.

I thought there is network security in place to avoid things like that. And thus the apps need one's permission to access during installation.

Sounds like it is wild wild west for network security then.

I believe should have such security apps but it also mean annoying "warning" screen could pop up anytime, just like in mobile phones.
If u really concern about security, betted just share out a folder and connect thru other ways except direct connection via cable.

How do i backup entire Kodi including system settings like skin, favourite shortcuts, user preferences, including the video addons settings (eg. Saved Favourite Dramas list in Genesis)?

Basically if i format my android/pc i just need to reinstall Kodi and restore the backup and running as usual?
Or if i want to mass deploy the same things into different android devices?

Is it possible? What program/addons i need to install?

I just tried to backup using Script-Backup (by robweber) and cleared Kodi, but when restore it doesnt load skin/shortcuts and i have to manually run tvaddon config wizard again.
And launch Genesis to find out all my favourite list are gone.

For my PC (win7) the Main favourites file is found in the - User/.../AppData/Roaming/Kodi/userdata/favourites.xml.

For Genesis favourites the file is found - User/.../AppData/Roaming/Kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.genesis/favourites.db.

Maybe you can try backing up manually the respective files before replacing and overwriting the new one.

Is there any Kodi utility (if I can call it by that name) which shows the download speed? In some chinese add-on, one can see the speed while it is buffering.

Thanks.

No. I have just watched that youtube before I saw your reply.

While watching a movie, the utility will tell you what is the download speed.

Available?

Thanks.

Operation Robocop Ultimate- Today's Live Events ,

All the EPL matches there,

Currently watching Everton vs MU (SD) very smooth. Even SD very good quality. Got many HD links too, for those who have fast Internet line, unlike my slow wireless hotspot.
