I'm using Xiao Mi's MiBox Pro version.
Resolution: 4K (3840 X 2160)
Cortex-A9,Quad 2.0GHz
Mali-450MP6
1GB DDR3 RAM

It's connected to my TV.
I'm using Kodi from the official site.
I have rooted the device and installed MX Player.
I have only installed YouTube (works) and 1channel (since the RAM so limited, I dare not install too many)
I can connect to 1channel and see the available shows but can't stream.

Thank you for your time.
*
from yr description, it is probably just 1channel not properly configured due to domain change.
such things happen as the addons play cat n mouse, and where u obtained the addon. fyi, 1channel has been blocked in uk; others like mashup forced to close shop.

i hope this video identify the problem.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XE8YUeWmI8
or get a new zip to install and enable the new addon (i assume u already know how to do this).
http://www.iwillfolo.com/2014/10/install-1...hows-instantly/

as new user, i suggest 2 tips whenever u get stuck with kodi:
.. google the problem, watch the videos for solutions
.. read the first few pages of this thread where many tips n guides were posted n discussed

btw, how much memory has yr device? kodi itself is the main memory user, addons may not take up much more except for some notorious ones, e.g. bbts.

bro,

a bit new on this thing.... about livetv using iptv simple client, can there be 2 or more .m3u? i already hv one in use, can't seem to find an option/selection to put a second one...?

live streampro... thumbup.gif tq.
i wait for those sport channels* under test to complete!
on pc, u copy and save on usb drive that long text file (paste bin link) on a simple text doc and name it anything u wish but as .xml file and in utf8 code. put usb drive into yr device.

then, install livestreampro the usual way if u dun already have it installed: video/addons/get more, assuming u hv the repos...
then, go to system/settings/video addons/enabled addons to find live streampro to configure.
androids: add source/choose file/rootfile system/mnt/sdb to find that .xml file
choose that file ok, click add source. u get prompt to name it, ok.
exit and play the addon like any other.

Sorry for late reply. Been busy. Just like @alien9 said. You can use IPTV Simple client 2 to add more m3u file OR you can use Playlist Loader addon. follow this youtube tutorial. Playlist Loader

It was released around mid Nov. Got mine from Google Play store. You can find them for sale on eBay with varying markup.

Good news is, we might see licensed Android TV OS box from Chinese manufacturers soon. Allwinner seems to be working on one.

they can't playback movies, say mkv or ts/m2ts directly right?

or somebody somewhere managed to hack the player and allow direct playback? relying on pure streaming is gonna put much burden on my plex server.

At the moment no support for local playback yet AFAIK.

On the bright side regards to Plex, direct stream and direct play of MKV files is supported.

please confirm:
you mean the nexus player is able to play mkvs from an NFS or SMB share? just that playback from a usb storage attached to the device is not supported?

Yup correct. I tested MKV and M2TS from NFS share (via Kodi). H.264 and MPEG2 played fine, only VC1 had issues.

wohhh... all these while i thought the nexus player aren't able to play mkv, just supports streaming function.
nice to know then. i'm not planning for local playback as all media will be stored at the fileserver.

say, your vc1 problem, is it related to bandwidth issue? i never could consistently stream vc1 through wifi.

Thinking of picking it up and the FireStick when I get there in a week's time - just to test the capabilities.
So far my Ouya and FireTV does what they are intended to
