pedal breaking seems quite common, my friend also kena before while climb up an incline along Kesas highway, luckily he managed to control the bike and there's no motorbikes around ..
those plastic pedals are shit, either get those with aluminium ones or best if can go for those wellgo aluminium ones
as for joints, well it's a quick release joint anyway, so it won't be as stiff as a solid rod for sure, don't think it's a matter of technique, just design
Yup. Thinking of getting the alluminum one also. Dunno roughly how much the cost.
The joint I means not at the folding part. Both my handle stem hinge and body hinge joints are very stiff and sturdy. I very confident with it.
The one weak is the one below the hinge connecting the fork and the stem

use to cycle to school during secondary school time but tat time juz a normal bike wif 14 speed

I have a mountain bike which cost rm120. Which is more 10 years ago. I sold it when I start to work. Now regret because the frame is still very good when I sell it. I should have keep it and upgrade the component. Hehe
