with all the issue with 3rod still surfacing with the supposed problem free Elite version , is it still viable to get an xbox360 ? be it the normal or Elite versions
Details :
1. its meant for a kid , thus long hours on it is expected
2. high chance of it being in a NON air con enviroment

I'm planning to get an Xbox360 in December, but I'm also worried about the 3ROD problem. Any tips on how to avoid the problem from surfacing?

There's no way of telling. My advice will be, just place ur XBOX360 is a opened place where there's alot of ventalation. Aircon room with a fan blowing right at the console will be best. ^^ OOHHH, for one avoid the Nyko Intercooler like the plague, they won't do good for you.
What the forumers here usually do (and experienced ones that is) is to get NOS fan mods to vent out all that hot air in the console.

i'm getting an xbox 360 tmr from a fellow lyner.. it's a refurb set. Since i'm gonna run it on my monitor, i need a vga cable. Any idea how much it costs?
i've asked some shops and they ask me to get ori one cos they say 3rd party got 60% is spoil one.. can anyone confirm this?
I can't afford an ori vga cable now as i also need to get a set of rechargeable batt for the controller. Any idea how i should go about this? I don't mind 3rd party stuff.. as long it's working.

well you try to search here, 3rd Party Cable with Optical output for sound, 3rd Party without Optical output for sound , Original MS Cable. For battery you can also use rechargeable battery no need to buy MS one... i think quite some numbers of ppl is doing tat... buy 2100mAh last longer... your best bet is to get a 2nd hand ori vga cable if you cant afford it. The 3rd party vga cable got a tendency to break down, have double vision, ghosting effects and etc. You may save some cash there but eventually you Will know that you'll need an ori vga cable. I just sold one a couple of months ago at RM80 so go get it at the pasar malam thread. faster,safer, than play-asia.com Anyway that is just my opinion. cheers bro |

hmm.. i just purchased a 3rd party cable and battery from play asia.. have to wait 5 to 10 days.. T.T
total spent about RM 50.. i couldn't find anyone selling ori cable in pasar malam.

That's because no one will want to sell their ori VGA cable unless they're getting rid of the 360. I tried the PA VGA cable - basically it makes your pricey LCD monitor/TV look bad. Seriously.
