cylon,
ur answers... If you buy Original Unmodded la... not the modded...
Yes MS SG will give you 3yrs warranty...
but the problem is you have to arrange with them and get the replacement...
you can't jus walk-in... you need someone in SG to call and confirm the date of replacement 4 you...
Most of the set they give is refurbish set, which they repaired...
Most of us did do like that it means jus day of walk walk in SG... not more than RM150...
how to calculate??? Bus ticket around RM80 for return...
then others is meal n transport from JB to SG...
that is a estimate la... if not mistaken quite a numbers of them is doing like this...

if you have anything please ask in the Buyer Thread in the Xbox Forum...
you can get advices from there... smile.gif
All the non-warranty is modded consoles is not warranty la...
coz they tempered the warranty sticker... so don dream of hose guys saying have warranty from them...

i duno but don tell me you all can't afford buying Ori games... but can go out and drink beer... tongue.gif
coz not all is over RM150 now... at Pasar Malam Thread is much lower...
Jus my opinion to all... coz i'm have wat most wanna be Xbox 360 user thinking during January this year...

Knowing that 3ROD happens to all xbox (mod or unmod), why risk buying? Even tho got warranty 3 years, are we saying the lifespan is only 3 years? Spend RMxxxx for 3 years only?

Microsoft better get their sh1t together.

haha long time no hear from u! Yea my question is for everyone, and that includes u too!

So to save ppl from clicking back to previous page let me repost my q again.

1. Are DVI to HDMI cables available here in malaysia?

2.The previous poster brought up another issue that I want to know as well. Which kind of audio cable will it require? I need audio to come from my regular headphone, so is the adaptor for a standard earphone plug available as well? The same kind that the ipod has.

People in the xbox 360 community in Malaysia bought an xbox knowing that there is a CHANCE that it might suffer from 3rod, now knowing that it will happen. The lifespan may be extended beyond 3 years; who knows?

This post will show the people who are revived from 3rod; as well as the many ingenious modification to them (Extra fan/x-clamp removal/etc)
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/442461/+1960

This post will show the people who successfully integrated a watercooling system in the xbox
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/521588

Not to mention those ppl who do commute to singapore often (work, fun, family, etc)

So, to answer your question on why risk buying the xbox? It is because we know the consequences and the solution of 3rod besides the real fact that xbox 360 games; quantity and quality, shows that that is the way to go; regardless of the 3rod problem

PS3 do have their fair share of laser head problem. Their game library is inadequate. So what if MSG4 is coming? so what if FF13 is coming? a few good games do less justice than facing the 3rod problem(assuming that you are the unlucky one)

From the way i see it, Sony either do too little things too slow, or they probably donated a bulk of their R&D budget to the make-a-wish foundation.

Guess the risk is logical only for true gamers.

Just like cars, beginning batches always have bugs, but still people buy because they want latest 'toy'

To gauge the % of 3ROD, this forum should have a poll for xbox owners

Im confused

Which yields better graphics...

a. Xbox connected to a full HD via component cables (RGB) or...

b. Xbox connected to a monitor via VGA a cable?

Can the component cable support full 1080P?

Yup..component can support 1080p..depending on the spec of your lcd TV...but there is no doubt that VGA connection will produce better result for 1080p viewing..as in my case for Sharp G7..it totally diminish the red push effect at all for HD-DVD viewing through HD-DVD add on for x360....and again...pls review your lcd TV manual..if it does support 1080p connection through VGA connection too...

i have the same question too.
if say i connect the xbox to monitor using a hdmi to dvi converter, how am i gonna get sound? the sound is piped through HDMI rite?
*
through the optical output for 5.1 ..and bear in mind that hdmi for x360 will not carry the sound transfer ..just the graphic...and yes ..u can use the dvi converter....

THanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. I intend to setup my future xbox 360 to my 20 inch samsung 206BW (2ms response time, HDCP compatible) monitor via a HDMI to DVI cable. Are the cables available here in malaysia and will it provide good quality video?
*
All the new batched for x360 comes with the HDMI connection....thats include premium and elite...but I have no clue wether premium with hdmi connection is available in msia laready...by the way ..u can always use hdmi-vga converter for connection to your monitor...

1)Why DVI-HDMI..as there isnt any DVI connection for x360????Myabe u should rephrase it as HDMI-DVI....
2) For headphone connection.....u can always purchase the turtle beach earforce x3....in fact i'm using either 1 of triton AX360 and turtle beach x3for headphone audio for x360.....
Earforce X3= http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/efx3/home.aspx
Triton AX360= http://www.trittontechnologies.com/products/TRIGA600.htm

answer:No
will there any guarantee that the XBOX360 that you send for warranty will be landed to the place (exp.Singapore) for warranty claim?
answer : No
Do u think M$ will give u new XBOX360 unit every time u hit 3ROD?
Answer : No
If they give u new unit,by all mean i be camping by there garbage bin and wait for 3ROD XBOX360 drop from the M$ office.

This is guy call Suwei (Lelaki yang malang) situation lah ho...(This story is not related to any person by the same name, this is only a story OK.)
Buy new XBOX360 unit ,play for one week ,Bammm 3ROD,post to Singapore (OK lah giving the M$ at Singapore hav good service ),Take one monthlah OK to send and fix and a send it back.
Take back "Yahoooo"..three month later Bammm 3ROD again ,another 1 month to wait
Take back "Pray to god, hope this will be last 3ROD"....2 month later Bammm 3ROD again..

Now I ask u do thing Suwei still want to claim his XBOX360 from Singapore?

Thanks bro silencer. BTW do LCD TV's have VGA connection that support 1080P. And where did you buy the AX360 from and how much. Thanks bro

I am also currently interested in buying an HD LCD TV. I've limited the screen size to 40" (space problems). I've been through two brands....the Sony KLV-40D300A and Samsung's LA40M81B. I'm confused weather the Sony is in fact an HD LCD TV or a HD-ready TV since there is a difference between the two. Sony claims it to an HDTV but this page http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/home_av/tvs/0...1054340p,00.htm says it's HD-ready. Also does the VGA support 1080P? Help me out here......trying to get the best out of my X360 system.

Thanks guys

agree with u. at least there's still hope and longer lifespan.. for 3rod, we dont even know when it will strike again and again... there's so many cases about 2nd 3ROD.. so means there still no solution for it. just a temporary fix.. sweat.gif

Ok..after few googling ..here comes the facts: -

For Sony KLV-40D300A = its a marketing hype by Sony...and yes its only HD Ready LCD TV which will only produce 1366 x 768 resolution on your screen eventhough u will c the 1080p signal input is indicated on the screen input menu....trust me..there is no difference for this model with its previous V series....go read the link for spec (Firsttake)and review>>> http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/home_av/tvs/0...1054341p,00.htm

And for Samsung's LA40M81B= its a full HD LCD TV with 1920 x 1080 resolution capability...and being a Samsung..they r always well known for its VGA capability..but dont just buy my words here..go try it at the shop..as the vga capability is always depending on the specification for its internal scalar.....>> http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/home_av/tvs/0...0432462p,00.htm

Hope it will help u...n don forget to buy the HD-DVD add on too... thumbup.gif
