For those who are interested to pledge FD;

Kindly be informed that, you may apply Maybank Credit Cards by pledging Fixed Deposits.
If you have already have an existing Fixed Deposit, you may send the Credit Card application together with the Fixed Deposit certificate and please attach a letter to indicate your interest to apply Maybank Credit Card by pledging Fixed Deposit and the amount that you would like to pledge. Once the application received and process, the processing unit would send out a letter to inform whether they agreeable to the amount that you are interested or they would suggest a new amount to pledge.

If you do not have any existing Fixed Deposit, you may send the Credit Card application with a letter to indicate your interest to apply Maybank Credit Card via pledging Fixed Deposit. Once the application received and process, the processing unit would send out a letter to inform the amount of Fixed Deposit that you need open at any Maybank branch in order to pledge with the credit cards.

However, the credit decisions are still made based on our Bank's credit assessment.

haha, if it was me, I let me wife or one of my children to enter and I go ta pau a cup of cofee and go to the smoking room.

Which airport? If KLIA, many credit card give FREE access. In Malaysia, the Plaza Premium Lounges (i.e. KLIA and previously LCCT) allow use to use more than one card to enter. Example, if you have Allaince Platinum and Maybank 2 Premier PPMC, you and your GF can enter for FREE.

Sifu, how do you let your wife or children to enter PPL when the passes has your name on it? They need to check your boarding pass and passport as well, right? Sorry for noob question. I always wasted the passes as I thought it's NOT transferable.

I had accidentally applied for MBB 2 Cards Premier during the treats fair. Initially I was accompanying my sister to apply for the card. I am a stay at home mom, no income but the sales person told me to apply too since I have MBB 2 Cards Platinum with more than RM30k credit limit. I just needed to fill up form and gave NRIC for verification.

So I will update if I got the card or not.

I am the principal and got my MBB 2 Cards Platinum when I am still working. For the past two years, I'm a SAHM, so I thought I can't apply for Premier card but the salesperson told me as long as I'm the existing MBB cardholder with min RM30K credit limit, I should be able to get the cards. So will see if I get the cards or not.

For non-Premier cards, they provided 1-hour approval on the spot. For all the premier cards, they will need 1 week to approve.

OIC, thanks for your reply. Guess next time, will get my parents to utilise the passes. Usually I won't be using them as my toddler always want to run around and I don't like to disturb other patrons in the lounge.

they just don't welcome me.

At first I sent the application form and a letter mentioned I willing to pledge, and rejected.

Few days later I sent an appeal letter attached with 50k FD cert from mbb, and rejected too..

No restriction but bank is all about risk, when you hold so many CC it also meant that risk is higher?

Just wonder if you hold any Maybank CC in one of your 8 / 9 cards?

Yes I do have Maybank2Cards Platinum, with a pathetic credit limit of 16k. Always need to pay advance to use it, more like a debit card to me

The rest of cards just low usage, stop using after hitting cash back allowance

As long as you have MBB2 cards , this card makes not much a difference. Unless you are chasing Enrich miles.

Yeah, best for collecting enrich miles! Other benefit is also Priority Pass x 5 annual usage if you need that. Some of the dining discounts are also not bad, only used it once though.

What did you declare as your annual income when offering to pledge FD? When I applied MBB2 cards I put FD of 20K, income as 60k , for VI 50k FD and income as whatever the minimum was for that card. Then used the same FD as for the VI against Premier application , and again put income as minimum stated for those cards.

But if your income requirement already fulfil the income as minimum stated for those cards. What is the point pledge FD to get the card?

That's just the numbers I put on the form ... no supporting proof. eg. MBB2 says 60K min I put 60K, VI 180k 6 months later I put that as the figure - no supporting documents by the way.

Not sure if that makes a difference - I'm pledging FD anyway, so why does income matter laugh.gif
