Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.. 100% Legal.. Genesis, 1 Channel, etc.. NOT!! As for documentary "Rise of the Hackers", bro, if that worries you then you really don't want to know what can be done & very easily today. See that smartphone on the table across you or in your pocket.. That my friend is the ultimate spying device.. It has cameras, mics, fingerprint scanners, GPS, phone metadata, etc.. And they don't even have to force people to buy/use it.. While we are at it, have you seen Edward Snowden's documentary, "Citizenfour"?  biggrin.gif

Quite true, until they make it illegal to manufacture phones with removable batteries... Forcing the more privacy conscious consumers to either use older devices & miss out on newer features or get with the program. It's a work in progress with companies like Nokia, Motorola, OnePlus, Samsung and the legendary Apple.. smile.gif

Admittedly, even if governments don't step in, phone manufacturers have found a legal and technical way to limit the lifetime of a phone... The battery: a component with a limited lifetime that cannot be replaced. In theory, it can be replaced, but in practice it will cost you as much as a new phone and it will be a hassle to do it. Almost no one wants to stay anymore without phone for days, so you have a good reason to swap it.

Try clearing the app data & logging back in.. If the problem remains, contact iflix support.. They might be able to fix it with an update.

Just updated the iFlix app (update just showed up in the evening), still same black screen. Have now done the clear data which was no help (Using the free year for Unifi subscriber with no account need)

Anybody who has their iFlix currently working on their Minix X8-H plus??? Or if you have an older version that is working, what is the iFlix app version?

Yes, it was fully functional at the time I still had the Minix... It's probably an update (or 2) that screwed things up..

I tried again and still black screen, I really wonder why is it that you had no problems. Is it TV or something else ? I have it connected to Panasonic Plasma TV via normal HDMI.

Appreciate your advice notworthy.gif
It seems that I am on the stock factory firmware KOT49H.20141122
(Weird that the check for update via the pre-installed update app did not detect there were updates which is why I had wrongly assumed I was on the latest firmware)

Will do a clean flash to FW008 (20151231) once I get it downloaded.
Hope that fixes my problem.

iflix works now on my Minix X8-H Plus with FW008 (the only problem is that subs cannot be selected any more
iflix Subs FIXED: Simply keep exiting/restarting the iflix movie playback until the subtitle box appears at the bottom right! biggrin.gif

When the iflix movie plays and only shows the single scrollbar at the bottom, just click back to the iflix movie page and then click play again. I had to try 2 or 3 times before the subtitle button appeared at the bottom right.

Minix restructured the OTA update process and in so doing, dropped access to the older app & required a manual flash of a later released firmware containing the updated OTA app & support. Coming from a much older firmware, it's recommended you perform a clean flash using a PC. Also make sure you aren't supposed to initially flash a particular firmware before flashing the latest firmware.

There's an updated YouTube for Google/Android TV that works.. I believe it's "YouTube_1.0.5.6.apk". Google or search on Minix forum for the download link.. It's within the Minix Neo X8-H Plus sub-forum.
