after 5 working days still not yet converted. yesterday 5pm++ called them, then they said will expedite. then finally got it converted now.

as usual. seems to have free view of channels for certain period.

that's good. last time only 2 accounts. now 4 really can be shared among people.

It’s bind to the decoder and smart card as it’s an Astro byond(HD decoder) just with NJOI logo on it

Smart card is tied to specific decoder, slotting it on other decoder won't work. I've tried and confirmed with customer service.

Will only pay for xinghe rm20 for 30 days. But good thing about prepaid is that I can wait till got the programme I really like to watch then I pay for it. so I do not necessarily to pay rm20 monthly for that channel until there is something interests me. Haha.

it's a different where watching at the same time for 4 device and sign in to 4 different device.
I though njoi is different with HD beyond box.
In other words, it's useless even buying a decoder box and it will not work slotting the smart card ?
The only way is to get a seller who wanted to sell his njoi but problem is , if anything wrong with the channel or no signal they'll still request for the seller info ic and etc to active for topup channel with phone number ?

I bit confuse , the real question is , how to replace an njoi decoder at the cheapest way ? njoi box no signal send to astro said spoil.Want to replace = over RM300.Like getting new.

Can sign in or not decides whether u can watch not the other way round.

I can confirm that if one can sign in can watch.

Any Astro decoders can be used with any Astro smartcard no matter Astro or Njoi.

I am on Astro, I can convert to njoi using my old Astro PVR box. Same for my parent house, only got njoi box, also can convert to Astro (except no PVR function).

Just get a new box is the safest.

It’s the same, just a rebrand from the Astro logo to NJOI essentially. Yup, it would be useless to swap smart card between decoder

Similar like Netflix's RM51/month plan, you can login unlimited number devices you want (phone, laptop, tablet...), but regardless, out of all the devices you've logged in on that same Astro Go account, only up to any 4 devices can use to stream Astro Go content at the same time.

Example, if at that same particular time, there's a 5th device (let say it's you) wants to stream Astro Go while there are already 4 different devices/users are currently streaming Astro Go shows, then the 5h device (you) won't be able to stream Astro Go until one of the 4 devices stopped streaming Astro Go.

So when that happens, tell any of the 4 currently watching Astro Go users using the same account, to stop watching. No need log out account, just exit app to make way for you. You understand now?

Njoi box is the same thing as Astro's box.
It's just that Astro use the same set top box on Njoi users ad well. Just because you see an Astro box, it could mean the account type had been converted to Njoi, just like westlife where his PVR box is converted to Njoi box. When we say "Njoi box", it means the account type of that same Astro box has been set by Astro as "Njoi account" and not the usual Astro monthly subscription. The biggest difference would be the channel list.

How come some has the NJOI sticker on the set top box? Hmm... Maybe it's a refurbished set? Not so sure... To determine if the account type is either Astro or Njoi, check the channel list. Or if you're able to tune to this 2 channels, iNjoi ch100 and iView ch302, then confirm that account type is Njoi and not Astro.

Cheaper way to get Njoi box?
Ask around to see if anyone willing to sell their Njoi box to you at cheaper price, especially they're those who no longer interested to watch Njoi and left their Njoi box unused. Reactivate the account by sending sms is possible, but when next time there's technical problem, you got to find way to get that seller's particulars (name, address, IC, email, mobile number). The email address and mobile number, you can tell customer service that you wanna update the email address and mobile number (which actually change it to yours) so that they can contact you instead of contacting the seller in the future in case of anything.

The smart card are paired together with that particular Astro/Njoi box, and you cannot interchange the smart card into other Astro/Njoi box no matter what. This is the security feature...

Somehow I thought of sign in not equal to watching.
I thought ,we can sign in into atog and the atog will bind the signed account to our android device or serial number.Up to 4.
but doesn't mean can watch simultaneously on 4 device at a time.

This is what I thought.So now it's clear that it can watch with 4 devices at the same time.Having friends and family having astr0 but is it same as njoi where you need to buy the channel ? or it follow the user Package channel subscription ?

If I remember last time , atog only allow 2 device and even limit user by binding the device serial number in a month.
example , if I login into atog on pc and phone.Even I logout on both device and uninstall atog.I still can't login into other tablet or laptop or whatever device because atog tied it with pc browser type or device serial number until next cycle with stated 1 month.Which I need to wait until next month to be able to login to other device.

If I understand you mean by Byond box and Njoi is the same but all the setting and tweaks are done on Astr0 SC Tech dept.
Converting from Byond to Njoi using the same box.
Changes made is by CS Tech department by converting the byond serial number and smart card number to Njoi channel and request for restart or software updates which even disable PVR recoding.

Cheaper way to get Njoi box?
Looks like cannot interchange the smart card into different byond/njoi decoder.but it's troblesome if buying a decoder from someone else with all the details bind with the seller.Need seller to request for email and phone number change as for 1st contact person.Just worry sometimes if njoi need to readjust the dish or update the box required IC of the seller in future.

If u do not have any Njoi or Astro now, indeed no point to even sign up new njoi by paying the rm405.

There are Super limited channels watchable currently. For me, there is only one free channel I will watch which is aEC only. Last time free air channels no digital, using Astro box to watch them will at least get clear picture signal analog signal sucks all time. Now all goes to digital and all TVs nowadays have DVB-T2 tuners that can watch it straightaway with much better pictures. Or at most I will subscribe to XingHe for rm20 monthly.

If u are existing Astro users like me and want to convert, the rm50 one time charge is still worth it. Or wait till good offer next time which maybe they offer super Low conversion like last time at rm15.90 or lower or even free.

Yeh ,last time media prime channel all analog , change the antenna or add booster still not receiving a good signal.Now all DVB-T2 is much better and if you have unifi also all free.
Thought of installing for elderly for a cheaper price but it looks like it's much better for the apps but need to teach on how to operate.Btw , the atog smooth ? any lag half way ?

Depends on internet connection, used it in a hotel room for almost a week, depends on speed and if the sever is even working properly( no issue with live but with VOD contents)

i would think that ur let them watch the unifi tv should be good enough. if you have 100Mbps plan and above, you get free tv packs also.

astro on the go is actually quite ok. quite smooth. but picture quality of course is also so so only.
