Lol you can't compare it that way... People buy a gaming notebooks for its portability, if desktops can be as portable as a laptop then no one would buy a laptop anymore...

For sure can't compare that way. Me, myself bought Y50 for portability. My works is mobile, so I can't have a gaming desktop sitting there waiting for me to play. My point is, if I have that huge amount of money, I would rather buy a rig for SATISFACTION of gaming. For Gaming laptop, just get best bang for the bucks should be ok already

Well, it comes with 3k display, 256GB SSD, 16GB RAM, Thinner, lighter, and almost twice more powerful in gaming than the Y50, Nitro, and G551.
Can't expect it to be cheap.

If they come out with a 1080p display, non SSD, it might be abit cheaper. Probably in the rm6k range.

Gigabyte and Illegear will also probably be in the rm6k range.

I guess it also depend on how serious you are in gaming.

As for me I'm a casual gamer, a RM3k gaming grade laptop should suffice while I'm on the go but I have a proper gaming rig when I get back home.

Honestly, I won't spend RM9k on a desktop, kinda overkill already lol. Probably 5k on desktop GTX970 rig, which is good enough for me, and a good 1440p monitor because 4k is so hard to drive and a good pair of speakers haha tongue.gif

Feel u brah.. 9k is also not much la if you are truly gamer. Spend wise then will get you a great laptop desktop combo. 5k is already ngam ho with 9xx series graphic and fhd @ uhd monitor.

It is not the matter of seriousness I presumed, but the willingness of you to spend a bomb on a particular machine. Rather than dividing your budget to other things such smartphone, vacation, daily life spending, etc2

The 880 and 870 series Nvidia already cost 800 - 1500 (illegear). it's so expected from the 9xx series to be in that price.

Sorry, was referring to GS60 that if they can reduce the spec of the GS60, it might reduce the price of RM7699 to something much cheaper.
Then again, they also might put it at the same price as the GS70, which is RM7299.

Wonder if they might put a GTX 970M into a GE60.
They did put a GTX 765M last time.
This would at least make a GTX 970M laptop more affordable.

Yup, the GTX 970M is quite expensive compared to the GTX 870M when it first came out. Should be the same for the 980M.
Fortunately the improvement(faster and cooler) is justifiable.

RM3,399 for acer v nitro.. feedback to us. i don't trust acer especially on their cooling system & durable but no doubt it look great.
*
I dont trust them also,
but recent reviews from notebookcheck (german site) and notebook review forum had a lot of good review on this machine.. At first, a lot of doubt, but look like acer do a good job on this... I'm thinking of give them a chance....

I dont think i will consider Lenovo ... My others options is Asus G551 or MSI but both of them with the same spec will cost 15-20% more (or more for MSI)...

Illegear 980m models from 6199 to 7399. Not bad, but they're all fat.

Illegear might sell a new clevo model similar to this video :

It is thinner and lighter.
Else, it's the Gigabyte and MSI.

Edited the youtube link.
