How much more do you think the touch variant will cost compared to the non-touch one?

i have just purchased the DOS version and installed win 8.1 pro. All for 3800, What do you guys think? is it expensive?
I wanted to wait for the 4k Ips display, but i seriously do not think 4k is required at this moment coz win 8.1 still can't scale properly and it's impossible to game at 4k.
And it's capped at 48hz refresh rate/frames per sec!! even if you change the resolution to 1980x1080, it's the same!

So i think i'm just gonna upgrade to 512 SSD and get another 8gb ram. Any recommendations?

oohh may i know where u buy both the laptop and windows 8.1 at rm3800? biggrin.gif

Just got the DOS version today just now, damn installing drivers one by one is a pain. Why don't they have an installer suite that settles everything in one go.
*
i thought lenovo provided like a driver cd in the box as well?

Yeah, there is a CD but the drivers inside are all standalone .exe files. Youll need to do it one by one for each stuff etc wlan, camera, chipset, vga.

awwww crap how long did it take u to install it all? im getting my dos y50 2moro.

Does anyone here have the Dos version? I'm assuming u have the same driver cd as I do. I want to know if the 14th driver which is the REGISTER driver, ran well on ur computer. Mine just appears as a black window with white words and then it just disappears in like one second. What issue is this?

The command inside is tweak the power settings and configure computers to default to Hibernate or Standby modes.

I feel like replacing my screen of my Y50. The Y50 display compendium in notebookreview has listed a few options. This is one of the options: http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6173508851.html . Seems pretty good but how much would it cost to bring it here?

how about its non-removable battery ? will it causes the battery life shorter or other problems ?
*
there's a lenovo software which allows the laptop to be plugged in while the battery is not being charged. Like being directly plugged in to the socket, it should pro-long the battery life..
