My only concern about car is reliability.
Currently driving vios for 6yrs, never fail me since day one.
Yesterday went for test drive new focus S+, soooo tempting!!!
But after reading the comments really afraid of no car spare part if breakdown and the car sit in the service center for months... I'm traveling very frequent and really need a reliable car.
Any feedback/comment from u guys regarding this new focus before I get one?

I concur with wingwp that if you want total reliability, the Japs car is there already but lack of tech and new stuff which is the reason why Ford suffers in that space..

Since you've driven the Focus you will know that the drive of Ford cannot compare with Japs and the feel is just not same.. difficult to explain but i guess you understand

New Focus seems to go away with the dual clutch which is the single biggest issue other than service after sales which is still manageable unless you have major faulty parts or major accidents which requires a lot of spares parts replacement from Thailand

Nice writeup. Good observation on the behaviour of the conventional automatic transmission in the new Ford Focus 1.5 Ecoboost and the dual-clutch of the Mk3. Looks like the comments on the responsiveness of the new transmission are consistent(my colleague test-drove the new Focus earlier last month or so). Also, good to note that the paddle shift operation in S mode in the Focus is quicker than the +/- buttons on the gear knob of the Mk3 in manual S mode. I rarely use the paddle shift on the Focus Mk3, I think less than 10 times only as I don't find it useful.

The perceived higher levels of handling and cornering performance of the new Focus 1.5 Ecoboost may largely be due to the tuning of the suspension, or they have used a different suspension. Did you test drive the sedan or hatchback? I find the suspension of the Ford Focus Mk3 sedan, although agile and responsive, to be on the soft side. If there is severe undulations on the roads ie. very wavy road as opposed to a flat road, especially when doing relatively fast cornering, the car will tend to wobble more due to the unevenness on the road due to the softer springs/suspension.

The new Ford Focus still come in Michelin Prmacy LC? I thought it has been discontinued 2 or 3 years ago? Perhaps Thailand still have a lot of these old stocks and are putting them on the cars.

My passenger side power window goes up and down inch by inch. Sometime doesn't work.

Finally after putting up my car on the Clutch Replacement waiting list last year November, its finally my turn to have mine replaced on the 16th June. My car has since clocked 42K mileage so far and minor jerking.. let's see how it goes... but worst thing is 1 weeks w/o my car!!.. pppfffftttt...

I haven't driven the new Ford Focus model with the conventional 6-speed gearbox but it is true that if it concerns speed and driving pleasure, the Powershift dual-clutch certainly delivers. Just two days ago I was accelerating the car up a gentle slope. When the car reached the top of the slope, I released my foot from the pedal. Instead of the car slowing down, it suddenly surged forward like a rocket launching just as I released my foot from the pedal. The feel is exhilarating.

King of Rims (kingofrims.com.my) probably have PS4, but bear in mind, it should be a near to mid 2016 manufactured. not enuf cool down time.

BTW, went to Kee Hin at old klang road done my balancing and alignment, they seems doesn't have high speed balancing machine there, so I did not ask for it, and I did not see then using Ford Focus spec to do alignment but using general spec. cost me RM80 ringgit. the works is OK, feel almost like my Equine Park shop. don't have a change to do straight line yet, need to go KLIA to test shortly.

Yes, the grip and bite is really there. Noise level at the moment is actually more quiet than Primacy LC, but that is due to my ageing Michelin haha.. But having switched to Performance Tyre, I am ready for the extra noise.

Mine is Sports+ so its stock at 215/50R17. I was contemplating between PS3 and RE003 but then since RE003 is newer and more aggressive style rubber. Price is around there for the size though and lesser than PS3

How's the noise level T1R compared to LC?

it's a manual gb after all. so by logic: jerk in manual=bad shifting, jerk in DCT=bad shifting due to bad throttle input. jerk is normal but very minimal if you know how to control it. as for shuddering, if often happen maybe because of bad clutch.

anyone encounter rough downshift? like to 2nd or 1st gear?
