WOW. The service centre at section 51 have further upgraded the waiting area compared to the last time i was here for my first service. The area now have two additional computers with internet access for all to use. A lot more tidbits are available too on top of the instant hot drink machine. Very impressed.

Three hours?! I've done three services so far and all took around one and half hours so far. Those that arrived earlier than me took around 1 hr. I guess the tip is to book the earliest session.

Because i need them fix my glove box light, and check the noise at my driver seat door. Like a sand inside the door making vibration sound.

But, no luck to fix the noise. They claim that is wind noise, which it isn't.

Hi guys, just a question. I've read the entire write up about bypass of the HU unit. With the grounding done, does the player still able to play a movie at higher speed? im asking this because ive read somewhere that the handbrake grounding thing only helps up to very slow speed, and it goes off the with the vehicle speed sensor after that, that the player will still be blocked. Can any member who did the grounding bypass share this? Pls pm me your contact so that i can call you guys up as well smile.gif

Havent try that yet. My GF worry i will break the thing .... But i remember someone let workshop do the by pass Rm100. From what i understand, you only able to watch video when you stop car by pulling up the handbrake. The by pass is to remove the limitation...
I could be wrong, havent got chance experience it yet ....

I already done the bypass (by my installer), it works perfectly no matter what is the speed. It is just a simple cable that connect to the handbrake, nothing to do with the speed. smile.gif

On the other hand, yes, just check my glovebox, it will light up only when the headlight is switched on.

I never check on this again after being told by SC that XV has no light. i managed to fix this myself today. Thanks for the info guys.
Apparently the light was not installed properly. But no light ??? something that will not make me take the word by SC people 100% anymore.
I know it is probably just a small issue to brag about, but if its not because of forum like this, i would have not known anything and just because they are SC and i trust them completely as people so called "expert" with their car. MI, SOMETHING TO PONDER. get all the SC people well trained and not just the people at your HQ SC.

It is FOC coz i changed my front speakers and added an amp and a 12" subwoofer. So he just did the bypass together when he was doing the wiring for the amp and other stuff. smile.gif

I think this is one of the problem with Subaru in Msia at the moment. Previously, they only had the HQ for official servicing of their cars. But with the current expansion going on, many of the other places are by dealers. So I would guess that many of the non HQ SC staff are pretty new to Subaru products.

Furthermore, even the HQ SC staff are not 100% correct all the time. I would only give them up to maybe 75% reliability at the HQ. So I guess we just need to be more inquisitive and understand our cars better and not depend solely on what they say at the SC, no matter which one.

After all, MI is treading in a new pool. They never had this kinda sale volume before.

I would hazard a guess that the XV numbers sold in 2013 alone is more than what they have sold in the last 5 years combined. And I was told that since launching the FXT mid last year, they have sold more than all the previous FXTs sold for the past 2 to 3 years.

And I am pretty sure they have a lot of new staff due to expansion. For example when I sent in my car for a problem, they got the mechanic to test drive with me and when I asked him how long he has worked for them...he said coming to 3 months. shocking.gif

Not the first time for Tan Chong Motor. MI's sister company also has such situation when they first introduced their Latio and later Grand Livina. After idling for quite some time, launching the Latio and Grand Livina suddenly increase their sales by few folds, so the service centre has a hard time coping with the demand in servicing. Tan Chong Nissan has done quite remarkably in recent years after the Latio and Grand Livina, following by many new models.

Hopefully Motor Image will be doing the same to Subaru. biggrin.gif
