If true Gowind using engine using CODAD (COmbine Diesel And Diesel) type ,
what the point Anti Submarine version using CODAD (less complex design, bring to cheap cost).  should be CODAG.
Sad our gowind ship, not worth at all for usd 4.7/RM1.5 billion fo each ship.

With $470m, it also comes with Long Range radar. Our gowind price should be lower than $466m in this case.

Do you guys realize there is "* not included".
Thai look cheap but it not yet included SAM cost.
as for codad already been said long time ago.
me no problem with that as it have less maintenance cost and its not like a huge problem for asw mission as every1 think.
Lacking of goods ciws is the only complaint I have.

ko confused dgn wind force.    wind force =/= sea state. kalau betul boleh survive sea state 9 dan wind force 12 tu dah maximum capability dah.     

Did you mean Myanmar? RTN ship is the most expensive among others.
According to the list the Indonesian Sigma PKR 10514 is the cheapest.
I think the list is not updated & accurate as Indonesia ordered up to 3 Sigma PKR 10514 contrary to only 1 in the list.

SHAH ALAM : This is my first posting after my emergency procedure last week. It will be short and brief as I am still recovering.

1. Our best M-4 Carbine Export Prospect

Word is that we may be getting our first M-4 Carbine export deal although the time frame remains sketchy. Why sketchy? Because our potential customer is Thailand and you all know how is the political situation in that country and it is remain to be seen whether a deal could be hammer out in a timely manner. The proposed deal is simple; we buy a certain number of Chaiseri Win 4X4 and in exchange the Thais buy the Malaysian made M-4 Carbine. I am not purview to the actual numbers being discussed but the Chaiseri will be jointly manufactured by DEFTECH in Malaysia as part of the deal.

2. LCS/SGPV/Laksamana Class

The physical construction of the first LCS will start in the first quarter 2015. This is not a delay as it is the schedule adhered by Boustead Naval Shipyard, confirmed by BHIC Managing Director Tan Sri Ramli Nor. Meanwhile, the Exocet SSM and VL Mica SSM are the missiles to arm the LCS. Malaysian Defence was told that the ceiling price for the ships need to be revised if other missiles are selected. The Government is unlikely to revise the ceiling price, therefore the Exocet and Mica will be the missiles for the ships.

3. DEFTECH as reported in Malaysian Defence on the first day of DSA 2014, DEFTECH signed an MOU with Bell Helicopters to offer aviation services to the Malaysian Arm Forces. Apart from Bell Helicopters, DEFTECH also signed an MOU with AM General to offer land transport services to the arm forces.

Airbus Defence and Space and Sapura Secured Technologies have signed a Collaboration Agreement to establish a long-term cooperation in the field of C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance). It includes the joint development of key products in the field of planning and data fusion systems for Armed Forces digitalisation and its commercialisation in the Asia Pacific (APAC) market.

“Airbus Defence and Space is very pleased to have been selected for establishing a long-term partnership with Sapura Secured Technologies. This confirms our strategy in Malaysia and our ambition for Airbus Defence and Space’s cooperation with strategic partners in Malaysia. Furthermore, we are looking at extending the partnership beyond Malaysia to address future business and market development activities in the C4ISR global market,” states Christian Scherer, EVP Sales and Marketing, Airbus Defence and Space.

Mr. Zarif Hashim, CEO Sapura Secured Technologies, said: “This collaboration will enable Sapura to leverage on Airbus Defence and Space proven C4ISR technology to develop world class C4ISR solutions for our customers. Our joint development activities will reinforce Sapura’s leadership in advanced engineering technology and system integration competency to aggregate multiple systems and information onto one intelligent and interactive operational platform. Our ambition is to jointly develop solutions that could address future C4ISR requirements beyond our borders.”

4. Listed below are the contracts announced during DSA 2014 gathered from various sources. There was no written press statement released during the ceremony thus the figures are subject to further confirmation.

Ten contracts worth RM737 million were signed during DSA 2014. Most of the contracts were for spares, maintenance and other support items for the arm forces. The companies awarded with the contracts are SME Ordnance, Destini Prima, BHIC Aeroservices, Peluang Kristal, LTAT Communications Technologies,Global Turbine Asia, Satria Bumi and Air Asia.

SME Ordnance secured contracts to supply various ammunition types and other munitions while Peluang Kristal for supply of uniforms.

Airod has been designated as the prime contractor for cockpit upgrade for the Royal Malaysian Air Force’s fleet of C-130 Hercules and Nuri.

I mean thai look cheaper than ours but it not yet include the cost for essm.
