I emailed Sony a query about the Z1 compact and it's launch date.
And this is their reply :

"Thank you for contacting the Sony Xperia support centre.


In regards to your enquiry, we have not received any news from Sony HQ when Xperia Z1 Compact will be launch in Malaysia. Please stay tuned to our official website for more information."

Hahaha, i know exactly how you feel man. I've been waiting for Z1C all along as well, but now got "new girl" in town, I feel like want to molest both first before deciding.

They're not allowed to interfere with marketing. Announcement of the exact date will be decided by them. I'm sure the marketing team already has a tentative date in mind. For now, the only confirmation we have is that it will be in April.

I'm sure it will be ridiculously expensive.

Well it is still the current flagship besides z1 now. As a matter of fact I have it already .White set from DirectD. I still feel Sony will price it above Rm2k. Go get yourself one, Procrastinator!

No idea on after sales though. It's an ap set. So of any problems I will straight refer to the Ap company, not with DirectD. Btw, I like DirectD's concept of a phone reseller. Everything is open. No hidden info or lesser accessories. Open pricing concept. Only thing is if you go there during peak hours, you have to sort of like queue to purchase your phone. Sort of like getting stock from supplier.

MYR 1800 for official pricing with unknown launch date vs MYR 1599 AP pricing from directd. Sony might losing one potential customer. T__T
