QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Jan 8 2014, 07:12 PM) For those worrying about battery life of the Z1 Compact need not worry now as the tests show way better than average usage for the phone. It even surpassed many phones. When in Stamina mode, u can add exceptions to certain apps like Whatsapp and Wechat. For stamina mode in Sony, those not familiar with it must understand that during this mode the Data and Wifi for the phone turns off when the phone goes to sleep. This means that you wont be able to receive your Whatsapp, Viber and email notifications. But during this mode, the consumption of power by the phone is very low. Thats why the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact lasted 41hours 31mins on average until battery exhaustation. |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Jan 8 2014, 10:20 PM) Yes but wouldn't that activate the data/wifi and defeats the purpose for Stamina Mode? I mean during stamina mode, the phone disables all network/data and only activates it when the phone is waken up. If we were to put exception for whatsapp or email, push data will be activated and this means that network data has to be connected all the time. Though this is better than activating all android rubbish apps running in the background sending and receiving data. I'm using this method for my Ultra. Battery can last 1.5 days. I only add Whatsapp and WeChat. |

Best way to eliminated bloatware is to root the phone and uninstall unwanted OEM crap while still maintaining the OEM features.

Many thanks to Google. iPad mini Retina used for office work with free apps like Pages and Numbers. Also serve as wireless movie player at home with Apple TV. |

QUOTE(mitahi @ Apr 1 2014, 04:32 PM) imo 4.4.2 is already near perfect. no need to root, plus sked dowan warranty void Have to root because unable to use 3rd party launcher without conflict with Xperia Home as default. A bug in JB and KK till today still lingering around. If root, I can freeze Xperia Home and use Nova as default without problems.i'd say thats fully closed coz the flap & gap in ur pic is somewhat almost identical as mine, and i've dunked mine in water many times edi and still works perfectly.. but dont take my word for it, celup it in water urself |

I hate stock launcher. Waste of screen space. With Nova, I normally set my grid size as 5x6 instead of stock 4x4.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Apr 4 2014, 04:24 PM) Like bros here mentioned, you need to have the Thorus Sticker on the box, on the accessories inside and the Thorus warranty card inside the box itself. I doubt your's is a Sony Malaysia set as there are Chinese wordings on the box is a dead giveaway. However, our local sets also come in two pin charger type too. I haven't bought it yet that's why asking here. Very suspicious with this set. Price also like 100 cheaper than Sony. Please beware when you buy the Z1 Compact as the price is very similar between Ap and Ori Sony Malaysia sets. |

Aarrgghh... still scratching my head.
If unlock bootloader without TA backup, all DRM keys will be missing -> Bravia, camera all kaput. To backup TA, need root. But to root, need to unlock bootloader. Haih... chicken and egg problem. Only way is exploit type root then everything else should be easy. So far, none for 4.3 JB to 4.4 KK. |
