Okie, there's many direct sales selling that kind of products, so its up to you whether you gonna choose which one. If i am not mistaken, there's a so-called 'wat toxin' that is sold in guardian or watson's, you can have a look .

Will try to use cetaphil for shower bath in this case.
Yup that i know. i never use anything for body to apply my face. But just use facial product to apply on my skin. hehe.. Like moisturizer for face with spf.. Last time i am using olay, but i have been changin all my facial products to Artistry. Coz the olay no long use for me face. Instead of wasting, i will just apply for my hand as sunblock lo. Coz i don't really explored to sun everyday as working in office. So i think it should be ok for it lo. wink.gif

Well well, I see that 80% of the acne cases are related to the usage of skincare products. It ranges from over usage ( don't read instruction, or maybe read, but use excessively ) to sensitive skin. You need to know which problem you are facing otherwise you are not only wasting your money in buying this and that but also 'experimenting' your skin with various products. What if the experimentation did not work out and you begin to develop skin problem. So, be wise, look into the ingredients, do survey, read previous users testimonials and read reviews from dermatologists, doctors, physicians and skincare experts.

Anyone heard of PROACTIV Solution and the one that the TV Shopping is selling currently?

Yo-i guess the best is to find a good derma. i will go next month. hopefully to solve this acne problem. been pickling them for almost a decade. used proactive. quite ok initially. i believe there is certain period of time before our skin gets immune to certain series of skincare products. hence, changed to clinique. initially, its effects is pretty good. but it then reverses. pimples with puss never leave me a single day. wish this month full of assessments and exams will pass, then holiday to go to see derma. =p

i am using clinique soap now. should i try neutrogena facial cleansing liquid in the mean time of finding derma? rclxm9.gif

Either CLINIQUE or PROACTIV SOLUTION are too strong for your skin. Not to mention that CLINIQUE is really strong for those who have acne and sensitive skin.

Okie, I have done several researchs towards PROACTIV SOLUTION because the company Guther-Renker and the two dermatologists are earnings A LOT for their products which some might claims to work while some night not. Anyway, the cleansing one, contains 5% of Benzoyl Peroxide did not lather and its a waste and its somehow harsh for your skin because you did not require until 5% for your skin. When you observe that you can notice that there's 3 different version of BP in the market which is 2.5%, 5% and 10%. The higher the degree means that the drier it will cause to your skin, and of course faster heal. Anyhow, if you are new to BP, go for the MILDER version, not straight to 10% otherwise you will be crying and jumping because you will feel burning sensation on your skin.

I understand that ones really want to heal faster but for ACNE, patient is really a key factor that you really need to look into. Back to PROACTIV Toner, it contains AHA( Alpha Hydroxy Acid), and its really not too recommended to those who have sensitive skin because AHA tends to irritate fragile skin. That's why they come out with BHA ( Beta Hydroxy Acid ) because its more stable and MILD. Okie, lastly, the repairing lotion is the best product in the whole set of regimen. It contains 2.5% of BP but the price is really too expensive if you gonna apply it to your whole face.

Thereby, I would say that PROACTIV SOLUTION is a OK products but the price is too high already. Some might not afford it..smile.gif

My skin is extremely sensitive. Listed are stuff I tried:

1. Minocycline
2. Dalacin C
3. Tetracycline
4. Doxycycline
5. Proactiv

Number 1 to 4 are the pills and they were great at the beginning. But after sometime, my body got immune to it and it become useless/

Number 5, never do good at all. Try reading reviews around, Proactiv only do good for the 1st few months, after that your skin will get worse. But there's still some cases where it did pretty well.

From my experience I would never recommend and pill, but if you want you might want to try doxycycline/minocycline/tetracycline. This is mostly what a derm will give you if you pay them a visit. They'll only give you ro-accutane as a last resort.

I would want to recommend two brand name, for cleanse/tone/mosturize purpose. They were Avene and RoC. They are doctor recommended brand and i've tried both. Extremely good for sensitive skin. I'm not doing any promotion, just to share smile.gif

rainwen,

They are pills that you consume to prevent acne from forming. Anyway, from the list that Chester mentioned, he tried everything and finally comes into a brand that suits him. Yup, the situation always happen to one that try desperately for everything that he/she could get, and finally he/she got it. So, stick on it. I would not say that this brand is good for you will be also good for him. It really varies. There are many kind of sensitive skins which I forgot their scientific name as what my mum has told me years before.

Chester,

Proactiv Solution did not work. Why? As you scrutinize the ingredients and read past testimonials, you will discover that most of the patients are from american, which their weather and temperature is different. Imagine that Glycolic Acid in the toner mixed with the sweat will cause chemical reaction. You are like applying a shield on your face, which when you sweats, it melts, sometimes go into your eye and its stinging! Avene is a well known brand, using the natural spring ( if I'm not mistaken) and natural ingredients. Roc is also considered ok for sensitive skin.

Anyway, heard a brand name NEOSTRATA? I am currently doing survey about this brand. As most of my feedback told me this brand is too strong for acne.

Good to know that your acne condition is better after using Liquid Neutrogena and Neutrogena On-the-spot. Both of them are great acne products in my top10 list.

For make-up, try to avoid thick foundation. Look for the words 'non-comedogenic' the time you purchase. Well, I rarely use makeup, only lipsticks everyday when working. Perhaps you could tell me your current makeup brand, then I will go for a look. wink.gif

Those are antibiotics which is very good to reduce imflamation and acnes the fast way. But however it have a little side effects and is not recommended. Like what Jinyee80 said, we all tried a lot of stuff before we finally settle down for a brand that suit us. However, we can be a little wise in choosing a brand. I dont know about others, but I went to the cosmetic shop as I have no other choice already. Neutrogena, Nivea, Biore etc etc that could be purchase in any market is not doing any good. Cosmetic shop recommended me Avene and RoC, both brand are doctor recommended and are very good for oily sensitive skin. They dare to guarantee you good result and i'm glad I gave it a try. I would recommend Aven to you if you have oily skin. However this is a very personal choice and its opinion varies for every individual. Its way better than any other pill. But no matter what u use, remember, NEVER wash your face more than twice a day. It aint gonna do any good. And make sure you use mosturiser as well. Hope this give you a bit info.

jinyee80: Tell me more about neostrata please.

Okie, Chester, I never come across that a guy will be conscious towards acne because some of my male friends didn't really bother them although its kinda of in severe condition already.

Let you know more about Neostrata soon. Anyway, mind to share your journey of battling acne ? Because to be honest, I really need guy's opinion regarding acne too. See how's the feel and what did they do.

dya_ungu,

Almost every makeup you used are branded, so I have no doubt towards these well known brands. Anyway, about the fading of makeup, seems that you really need something to 'soak' up the excessive oil from your skin. Do you try to use Clean&Clear oil removing film before? The blue color one? Its made from silicone sheet and the oil soaking degree is very high. Otherwise you could use other oil blotting sheets.

I will need to dig out my information before I would recommend you other thing. Let you know, perhaps tomorrow. Going to bed now, YAWN...tomorrow working:)

I reckon almost all(if not all) males felt the way like female do when they have acne, especially severe acne. Maybe they just dont show it. My main problem is I only cleanse, and dint use toner or mosturiser. Guess there's where it gets worse and until my parent start complaining, I never realise it was there. So i started taking pills. Mino, doxy, tetra, dalacin C, u name them. But soon i realise that for a sensitive skin, we need to mosturise it. Ever since, my skin is under control.

Hi, do you know how to control your ACNE. I like to share with you here. share with me how you control and how you make the solution when it's grows

Tips rclxms.gif

- wash your face 2 times a day with a gentle soap.
- change your towel every day. bacteria thrives on damp cloth.
- wash your hands often as they carry bacteria.
- don't squeeze, pick, scratch. you may get scars.
- avoid getting a sunburn or getting stressed. remember to exercise often.

Just let me know any problem you have. I will let you know a good solution. becouse of our profesional beautition and maybe with thier experiance they will try to send you the free tester to solve it.

hopefully to get feedback from yours soonest.

Thanks.
