thumbnail ada problem before this

currently watching jose interview (live);

-No offers for Mata, & I DONT WANT HIM TO LEAVE. Mata reacted fantastically in the training
-Jose acknowledged KDB potentials..but he got to fight. there were few offers for him
-This squad is good enough for my first season, and for the objectives of the first season. He is rebuilding the team
-Possible striker? We have 3 strikers. not a priority. Higuain almost impossible to get

MY EXTRACT FROM JOSE MOURINHO PRESS CONFERENCE

NO for Higuain.

NO transfer out for Mata.

If...If Mata out..NO to PL clubs..and insist that he want mata to stay.

KDB..difficult to adapt to difficult life at Chelsea..hints that If clubs want him..the price is high ! because quality players is expensive.

We will try to win..We dont want to play second game..and We dont want to lose. ( Derby )

Ryan Betrand will start. Kalas on bench.

We will do transfer if its for the future.

Mou creating a new spine for the next decade for Chelsea.

Special mention on Steve Clarke.

-a bit risky to put azpi..we have no more RB
-mata for the lulz to PL club. showing an intention he's still important
-no KDB? just maybe there's 1-2 clubs that place the bid = english club.
(my honest opinion: wan to swap willian for KDB)

honestly i dont care if we lose tmrw..(if we put 2nd string lah of course)..
players like hazat rami terry cec mesti kena rehat la..but knowing jose he will always put strong squad kawkaw

André Schürrle reporting in! biggrin.gif

I honestly don't know why we are looking at Guarin since we have enough midfielders now. As for all our target transfers, all are so overrated.

Btw had anyone checked on Luke Shaw? Is he really that good as claimed?

Some agents like to speak when things are done, some like to speak when things not even started.

'Some of them are addicted to Twitter and social networks and want to share info with everybody at the same time.

'We know Kevin (De Bruyne) didn't adapt well to the difficult life a Chelsea player has. People like Oscar, Mata, Willian, Eden, they have a beautiful difficult life at Chelsea. To play they have to pay a big price, work a lot, give a lot, and accept the competition.

'Kevin is a different personality. He has been a very important player for Genk and Werder Bremen. This is the first time he comes to a big club with big competition.

'We know he fancies a move, but he's a fantastic player and they're very expensive.

'If people think they can get our good players on sales, the sales finished in London yesterday.

'I don't want him to leave. But we have a couple of contacts [that have been] made by other clubs.'

Asked if Mata had taken him up on his invitation of a chat about a move away, Mourinho said no, and that Mata had trained exceptionally well.

'Today he trained in a fantastic way,' explained Mourinho. 'He focused more on what I told him after the game at Southampton, when i told him I don't want him to leave. And that my door is always open.

'He focused on me not wanting him to leave and not wanting the club to sell him. He moved on. No problems.'

Mourinho also confirmed that there was no offers for him in yet and that he would not like to see him move to a Premier League side.

Stick around the thread near matches for free live streaming links. As a courtesy, here you go

firstrowsports.eu - 100% you can watch every match

I would not take credit for the link as it was originally posted by a member here.

Pro:
1. Very good live match in HD
2. No worry at all during rain or thunderstorm, not like Astro even though they took Astro channels

Cons:
1. Only 2 Astro channels were in Hypptv channels list. Channel 810 & 811. ONLY 2! Me kena conned when they promote this, I thought it was all Astro sport channels.
2. Any live matches beside 810 & 811, you will miss it. Example like Chelsea Liv match previously, no Live. Also for tonight Chelsea vs Derby. NO live in Hypptv.

So, if to choose, better stick with Astro.

I think he meant the players we bought while they were way young and those from youth academy.

Maybe he meant "teen prospect"

Yeah I don't know why I can get 340-360 ping on that website when I got 250 on US based server. :/
Problem is, my family doesn't want to subscribe Astro. Ah well. cry.gif But what about other Hypp TV sports channels? What do they broadcast usually in Sat and Sun night?

Other sport channels are not live BPL match. Too bad. Only these 2 channels for live BPL. The rest can see La Liga live matches, some outdoor channel la, MUTV channel la. Astro is way better.

I wonder how's the situation with Mata and KDB. Of course the media will make it seem drastic. However if they are missing in during the Derby game, it'll be a clear implication.

JM has been quoted stating that 100% no striker this window.
I'm guessing that'll be the case if none of our current strikers leave.

JT for Galatasaray? Some powderful weed they have there. rolleyes.gif

Anyway, my predicted line up for tonite's match.

------------Schwarzer--------
Azpi---Kalas---Cahill----Bertrand
--------Essien----Mikel------
KDB------Mata-----Schurrle/Hazard
------------------Ba------------

hmm.gif, I think Mou will rest some players. Hazard has been playing every game in the PL iinm. Ram too.

If Mata or KDB do not start tonite, I guess we all understand what it means. Both of them not in the right state of mind to play (focused on transfer away from the club).

Btw, Derby is one of the on form team in League One iinm. We can't take them lightly. So I think Mou might play a semi 2nd team with Cahill, Azpi, Mikel.

Luiz eligible to play tonite?

preparing for loan maybe.

cant risk him. plus if we dont want to use him..better let younger players to take the slot.

pls secure the game early. 2-0, 3-0..

I want to see Kalas or Baker play...or maybe even both of them.

i prefer KDB go on loan rather than stay here for minutes here and there.

mou being too direct with kdb..maybe he see something in that fella..and try to shape him up..kdb not strong mentally?

If this is true then it would logical for him to start this game, but didn't even make the bench. I think best option is to leave. I was looking forward for him to finally play for Chelsea after 1 and 1/2 seasons on loan, however that dream is short-lived. Plenty of decent teams elsewhere will value his services more than us, wouldn't blame him if he decides to leave the Bridge.

Seem's like Mou is taking Derby quite seriously. Mata on bench, 50% he'll stay in Chelsea. KDB...hmm.gif Mou said will give him some playing time, but now not even on bench. I suspect KDB's agent is already finding clubs to loan him.

Quite a first team lineup to me though. Guess FA Cup is one of the priority this season. Never need to worry about Schwarzer. He is just maybe one par below Cech. He is quite decent IMO. Other than that I don't see anything to worry about. KTBFFH!

If eto blindly take shots when he has the ball, his chance conversion rate will be higher.

Oscar took few decent strikes, but always a bit off target.

the 2 player in the center mid is too defensive.. mikel being mikel, essien is a shadow of his past while ramires looks struggling on the right to find the best touches.

was expecting more from this game against this kind of opponent.. would like to see mata in action as i prefer hazard to get a full rest. torres can come in as i think he need more match sharpness as compared to eto'o.

kdb i cant comment..maybe loan prospect.

as for Mata..I do believe that Mou keeping him for Hull.

we need more than 11 quality players.

Mou creating a new spine..the spine must be solid..that is the reason you will see the same players play every game..once the spine is set..the other players can adapt..we can subs whoever we want..and we will still play the same way with the same intensity. This new team just found their way..a few weeks back..not earlier in the season..

nice win. we're up against stoke at home next round.. time to revenge for the league lost ?

anyway i feel bad for Mata....I hope he stays, work hard, produce results and then give headache for our Jose to come up with the best starting eleven.. but still Jose knows best. If Mata were to really leave then I hope he does so on summer transfer, not this one

lol laugh.gif but looking at it from another angle, Ferguson didn;t become an instant champion also, so it's fair to give Moyes at least another season to build the team he wants, and not just inherit a pure 100% Ferguson-oriented team - who know, maybe after January transfer, they come charging up the premier league - Bola itu Bulat brows.gif

I think the matter is not that Moyes is doing badly, its just that Ferguson was doing extremely well. I always wondered how the current team was able to win the title last season. Hats off the Fergie for that. But the results now are more comprehensible given the quality of the team. But Moyes is capable of overachieving with weaker squads, just that he needs more time to get the players he wants.

On a less serious note, I hope Moyes just keeps on doing what he's doing now. laugh.gif

luck? or fergie factor? vanpersie OP form? this team is no where good to be top 4 if you compare their first 11 with the so call top 4. They capitalized on the bad form of top 4 last season to edged out to win the trophy. to be honest they ll suffer also even with fergie managing this season, just that it is not as bad as moyes doing.

I don't know if Hazard substitution yesterday was necessary. He play at walking pace biggrin.gif must be due to fatigue.

No sight of KDB yet again, clear indication of him leaving i guess.

Ramires forgot how to play on wing and his recklessness almost caused a break-away few times. But he solid rock at the midfield with Mikel.

Oscar & Willian was my motm.

Definitely fergie factor. No more extra time goals, no more penalties, no more 6 min extra time in derby. The refs are not afraid to give decisions against man utd dy. whistling.gif

Imagine if u gave a decision against Man Utd. It's SIR fergie wei. later he bombard u 9 9. whistling.gif

with regards to last night's game, really respect the Rams - put up a really solid game, nullified our tired legs for most part of the game and their last minute push really showed strong-character.

Semua tered fans Manu datang nak cari gaduh..nak tunjuk hebat..nak berlagak kononnya kelab yang paling hebat di alam semesta.

Tered Liverpool, tered Arsenal, tered Chelsea semua kena serang..sampaikan tered Man City pon dieorang menyemak, tered Man City tu penuh dengan fan Manu kalau korang tengok tered lepas2..

Terima kasih Moyes kerana anda telah mencipta banyak rekod dalam masa 6 bulan ini.

Source ? loan or permanent ? i hope is permanent, not that i dislike ESSIEN, i think he would be a good backup for us if he stay, like FERREIRA. But since we are overloaded with good youth player i think is better we take the gamble and let them be the backup player. And our club have the trend of letting senior player run down their contract and leave for free. Hmm maybe everyone feel at home in CHELSEA that they dont want to leave or is it because of the paycheck ?

bye bye KDB.. I think same fate for Mcechran, Piazon, Kakuta,Aanholt,Chalobah, etc after this. We got many good prospect but it hard for them to play here..

Good for KDB

Just watched the highlight for yday's match. I muz say Torres look very lively. He always too eager to make a point to the fans and himself. If he play relax a little, take some time to shot, he'll do much better. thumbup.gif

Ram was all over the pitch. This guy's stamina is like Park Ji Sung x 2. lel. Just a pity that he dived.

KDB moving, hmm.gif we will either need to sign 1 winger or just promote 1 of our youth into first team. Kakuta or Piazon is a good replacement for KDB's position. brows.gif

I dun think chelsea have to worry about finding kdb replacement.
we hardly have any impact from his departure.
Perhaps we would be looking for player in other position.
Rooney for example. brows.gif

If we get Rooney, then it will give us more options and varieties in our attack. brows.gif

Mata might be pushed wide. Oscar and Rooney will be fighting for central AMF position. LMF Hazard/Willian, RMF Schurrle/Mata. brows.gif

It's very flexible too. When we're chasing games we can change to 442. Rooney can play up front. thumbup.gif

Chelsea would be at least 12 points more than current if Rooney has decided to join when season start.
And... MU would be at least 15 points less from current brows.gif

Ya agree, very weird, when KDB leaving ppl complain youngster at CHELSEA dont get the chance to play, but then another say buy someone to replace. Like that how we going to see our youth getting chance ? Contradicting tongue.gif Anyway KDB does not even have a place on the bench, so we dont really need to replace him. He is like a backup player that we should really use the youth for it, since we got plenty.

Is been half a season, JM should already know who he really want in the squad, is about time he trim down his squad and keep the player he need. Looking at our balance sheet that just enough to get pass the FFP, JM need to sell before he can buy. Maybe we can clear some senior player, promote some youth to replace, then spend a bigger budget on a good striker ? WIN WIN ?

But of course i want LUKAKU next season, he deserve a season at CHELSEA to prove himself.

youngsters at Chelsea is different..some of them already at the level of regular PL starters if they move out of the club...to make a breakthru at Stamford Bridge..you need to be better that our great players..and its always tough..If people tell you about Cleverly..Januzaj or Wilshere..you cant think the existing players that deserves the spot or better than them at their respective club..

other than Lukaku and Courtoius..Piazon the the top youngsters now and even he cant edge Mata Hazard Oscar Willian and Schurrle. laugh.gif

Totally agree with this part. Chelsea first 11 have high standard imho. And we tend to have to be really assure that that particular youth have what it takes then only we put him in first team action. A good example is Ryan Bertrand. The next step up to the first team action imo is Van Annholt (If Cole leaves), McEahren (If Essien leaves and Lamps retire).

Maybe Mou will start to change the tradition, maybe not this season, maybe in the summer. Who knows. But tbh, a lot of our youth players can actually be other PL team starters dy. Let's say if they are playing for Arsenal, I think they'll be rotation players dy. But our club Chelsea, we tend to be a bit different. biggrin.gif Maybe coz we are afraid the move might backfire us, being too cautious. hmm.gif

Haha the 2 MANU player cant even make into CHELSEA bench, WILSHERE maybe on the pivot role, if AM's he also will be bench tongue.gif But JM standard is quite high, if the player is not up to standard he definitely not going to play, just like AZPI on LB even though we have BERTRAND. But AZPI performance show JM was right and we cant complain either laugh.gif

Mostly because we keep changing manager, every manager come in have a big task to deliver trophy thus they dont gamble with the youth. If JM is for the long term thing will get better i suppose, we cant expect JM first season to throw in the youth, now he even have too many senior player to handle laugh.gif

Highly doubt 25mil target will be met by buyer club. Quite a high valuation by Chelsea, given his playing chances this season. I would be happy(given the situation of course sad.gif ) with 20m. Its unfortunate that it didn't work out with KDB, but it's a good piece of business from the club. Also this would give us the means to bring in another player.

balotelli is good. but not rooney good. i dont think he'll fit in chelsea system. we need a striker that both can create and score. suarez would be a dream signing. heard rumour bout his release clause +-70m. will settle for rooney though.

Rooney. Anyday. No nonsense striker.

Not very interested on Balotelli. He didn't do that well in City even with an array of stars playing alongside him. Not sure how he's doing in Milan though. I feel he lacks consistency. However, I think he can do better than our strikers now.

Torres, Lukaku and Balotelli for Next Season. That is some strike force we have there. drool.gif Torres for super sub as he always provide energetic performance off the bench, Lukaku for Drogba-ish approach to the game which is to lead the line, Balotelli for speedy approach of the game.

But I don't think Mou will want any troublemaker in the team. Although Mou has proven to work under these circumstances before. Such as in Madrid, Casillas, Ramos was using their player power to force trouble to Mou, for Perez to drop the axe on Mou; In Inter, Mou even said Balotelli was unmanage-able which lead Balotelli being sold iinm. And now Mou wants him? shakehead.gif

If we really think about Torres and Lukaku leading the line next season..Rooney is a no for me..unless we sign him for a striker role..

If not..Rooney will limit Oscar and Mata chances at AM role..

Mourinho sees Rooney in a similar role to that of Eidur Gudjohnsen in his first spell here as manager.

thats why I prefer Balotelli..

yes his discipline is questionable..but he deliver..just like Drogba..

we also quite okay with rotation system at City..thats one of the most important aspect in our squad now..

plus his record at Milan is great for me..

2013– Milan 26 (18) Goals.

not as prolific as Costa..but if he really force a transfer..I say..get him Mou..!!

Balo over Rooney for me. Don't want to see more competition for Oscar and Mata in the AMF role. shakehead.gif

Balo's off field prob memang a lot, but on field, he can deliver it. So it's ok for me. Plus, he can kuda around and seek media's attention off the team, all attention also on him. XD

I'm with Ichi on the bolded part. As much as I want a new striker now to boost up our goals and attacks, I think Mou will stick with Torres, Eto and Ba 1st. I think our striker reinforcement will only arrive on the summer break.

A bit off topic, but how come Man Utd thread got this rule.

Please do not predict/mention the outcome (goal margin/scoreline) for any Man Utd matches (eg: Man Utd to win X-X against ABC or Man Utd to win by 3 goals and etc).

o.0 Just some prediction. Chelsea thread ok with it right?

Is a Mata for Rooney swap likely between Moyes and Mourinho?

Every football pundit, armchair expert and diehard expert has been screaming for Moyes and United to find a Paul Scholes replacement.

Mata is the only Scholes-level player who would come to Old Trafford in this January window.

And by Moyes’ own admission, Rooney is at the peak of his powers and is likely to command an asking price right now.

Can the big January move be Mata for Rooney?

sos

So how would u guys react if we do a direct swap involving Mata and Rooney? icon_idea.gif

Absolutely bull, after JM recent press conference i think he made it clear that he won't let Mata go at any cost except the player himself choose to wanna leave. Then i read Mata blog and follow his intagram, this lad love stamford bridge and love the club and there's no way he will leave us for our rival. He will made it to the world cup whether he is a regular starter at Chelsea or not.

Not only because of his passing, in the past he have been lazy, sometimes he just standing on the pitch and no track back. But this season his workrate have been good, and he have been give more license to go forward by JM. Normally at set pieces MIKEL will always at the half way line to cover for the going forward CB. But now he get to stay in the box.

I follow Mata's facebook too. Seems like he is really keen to prove his worth in Chelsea. brows.gif

Since we're on the topic of legends and striker. How about our cannon shot Hasselbaink?

Really miss those days, his link up play wif Gudjohsen was superb.

Those were the days, Roman just bought Chelsea, under Ranieri we played 442.

Desailly + Terry as CB. Bridge and Melchiot bombing down the flanks. Steelman Petit. flex.gif Gronkjaer with his superb champions league goal scored from so far out. Hasselbaink, Gudjonsen, Mutu and Crespo. Good old days. I would say most of our players was playing superbly that season.

How I wish we have 4 top strikers right now. drool.gif

Was searching for transfer news. Then saw that news. They are different type of players, Mata being more technical, Scholes being more physical. But anyway, that is what Man Utd needs now, a creative midfielder, which we have at abundance now in Chelsea. whistling.gif

Yes I understand the important of backpasses.
but having too much back passes slow down our attack or counter attack and making our games seem lack of fluid.
well that just my opinion I could be wrong.

Real Madrid is the best example why sometimes the fastest attacking side is not gonna bring you top of the world. The key is balance.

We have probably the best attacking talent in england (just to be fair)...player like Mikel is needed to calm things down.

I always have this preference of having a good DM(let it be Malaysia thread or Selangor thread so I might be bias abit hehe) to let attackers do those jobs. It is unnecessary to have dm like xabi if mikel still can provide stability.

No u are not wrong bro. Just different of opinion. No harm there. Chill

Imo, I would prefer dm to be able to slow down opponents attacks while able to provide linkage of fast and fluid attack.
I believe mvg and luiz able to do it.

I not sure what you guys think, but for me backpass is something very useful because the DM have sights where the people in front just don't. Backpass could lead to a really good decoy for the DM to blast the ball up and convert it into a goal by catching the defense offguard in split seconds. tongue.gif Well that's what I see in backpasses are for la. tongue.gif But sometimes Hazard do prove me wrong that backpasses is not necessary. biggrin.gif

The agent of Manchester United target Fredy Guarin has revealed that the Inter Milan midfielder never received an offer from Chelsea, and now looks set to stay at San Siro beyond the January transfer window, reports Sky Sports.

Responding to mounting speculation about his client, Marcelo Ferreyra moved to deny rumours of an imminent transfer to the Premier League, and reiterated the Colombian's commitment to his current club.

"It's false. We have never got offers from Chelsea," he told FcInternews. "We are happy at Inter, even if we don't know what [club president] Erick Thohir's intentions are."

"They must let us know if they want to count on him and if so, we must discuss the new contract of which we already spoke about last June, but that has not arrived yet because of the club's sale."

Red Devils boss David Moyes is also understood to have been monitoring the 27-year-old's situation, as he too weighed up an attempt to lure the player to Old Trafford.

"It's a heartbreaking thing not to know what Thohir wants, because he never talked to us," he added.

"However, we want to know what the president thinks about my client, because if he considers him the best player of the team he must be valued like this."

sos

I think Guarin's agent is toying with Inter, Man Utd and us to see which side offer better deals to Guarin. If Inter do not give contact extension, Guarin will still be sold this month to either us or Man Utd. hmm.gif

our next PL game is against hull city away and then Man United at home. IMO, given their current form and morale, this is the best time for us to face them.. especially since its played in our fortress.

im not trying to be negative but i think... i think we wont buy any striker this January transfer. we will be sticking with Torres Ba and Eto'o until the end of the season.

Chelsea latest transfer news: Man Utd's Rooney, Van Persie raid?
The chaos at Old Trafford could see star players leave
By Staff
Published Wednesday, January 08, 2014

QUOTE
Jose Mourinho is way to canny not to cash in on the current chaos at Manchester United.

On the one hand he has the mighty Manchester City with a squad that can afford to chase four titles, injuries and all.

The Special One must know that for Stamford Bridge to be able to compete with that kind of bench strength, his current roster is just not enough.

Especially not with all his goal-scoring strikers out on loan.

He must also have one eye on Arsenal who seem to have found enough of spine to go with their flair as they mount a genuine title charge for the first time in years.

The pickings from Manchester United might be needed not just to counter City, but to keep the Gunners at bay as well.

So maybe Wayne Rooney alone is not enough.

If, and when, he does make the switch, Mourinho may do well to consider a bid for another United star – think the unthinkable – Robin Van Persie.

Van Persie left Arsenal because he wanted to win trophies.

He has won one at United. And one is not going to be enough for a striker of his class and calibre.

Arsene Wenger might be too proud to give RVP a way back to the Emirates and RVP may be too proud to take it.

RVP will be hungry for more silverware and United may be out of it for a few years as Moyes attempts to build a new dynasty.

With a Chelsea midfield foundation of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Ramires, Juan Mata and Lampard, Rooney and RVP could genuinely have a platform to shine.

The pressure could be off Fernando Torres and Romelu Lukaku could be brought back from Everton and Cheslea could field Lukaku, Torres, Rooney and Van Persie to counter Aguero, Negredo, Dzeko and Navas.

Will Mourinho dare?

Signing 1 striker is ok la, either Rooney or RVP. But both?? doh.gif we are playing 4-2-3-1, so we need only 3 striker. Man City is playing something like 4-4-1-1 with a striker playing as AM role, slightly deeper, that's why they need 4 strikers. doh.gif

Manchester United – worse than Mrs Brown’s Boys

Trying to pick the worst aspect of Manchester United latest slump in form is like selecting the least amusing scene from a Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas special.
There is much to choose from, and in many ways there's no wrong answer - in the end it's all part of the same desolate, depressing spectacle.

Still, at least people actually seem to like Mrs Brown (and if you're one of them, you can stop reading now). There might have been people laughing last night, but none of them supported United, whose fanbase has been sucked into a collective state of near-catatonic despair.
Playing the role of the cross-dresser who glues himself to the toilet is, of course, David Moyes.
He's an obvious fall guy; his failure to strengthen the squad in the summer; his prehistoric tactics; his glazed and helpless look as United slump to another defeat; the way he isn't Sir Alex Ferguson.

Moyes is making the job of replacing Fergie's look even harder than it probably is. In fact the only bit he's getting right is the constant complaining about refs.
[Moyes blames 'terrible' referee for defeat]
But far worse than Moyes's performance last night was that of his team, who showed a malaise that goes far beyond the painful inadequacy of Tom Cleverley.
It was United's senior players who disappointed most, failing to get a grip as the game slipped away. This was an experienced United side, but after Fabio Borini's 64th-minute penalty who galvanised them?

Not Ryan Giggs, not Nemanja Vidic, not Michael Carrick - and certainly not Patrice Evra, who showed more enthusiasm in his running battle with ref Andre Marriner than he did in trying to contain Adam Johnson.
[MATCHCAST: Sunderland 2-1 Manchester United]

None of United's old heads did a thing to avert the slow-motion car crash of their third defeat on the bounce.

At this point, it's easy to again turn to Moyes and blame him for failing to inspire his players.

But if you think that responsibility for motivation lies solely with the manager, look at Chelsea.

Throughout the turmoil of Roman Abramovich's revolving door policy, the squad has retained its extraordinary ability to overcome adversity and win trophies.
Chelsea's drive comes not from the manager, but from their players.
John Terry, Frank Lampard, Petr Cech, Didier Drogba - they have seen (and in some cases encouraged) a dizzying rate of change in the dugout, yet nothing seems to dull their knack of ending the season with a shiny pot or two.

It's the managers who understand the players' importance, and not impose themselves too strongly, who have succeeded - Guus Hiddink, Carlo Ancelotti. Even Jose Mourinho, for all that he's perceived as a megalomaniac, is smart enough to understand that Chelsea's senior players remain their biggest asset.
He has always chosen to pick fights with Joe Cole, Arjen Robben and Juan Mata, players - literally and metaphorically - outside the core of the side.

Given their centrality, Chelsea's leading players have been accused of undermining managers like Luiz Felipe Scolari and Andre Villas Boas - which is where we return to United.

Sir Alex Ferguson's 26-year reign at Old Trafford was all about control. It is the central theme of his book, in which anyone who threatens that control is dispensed with.
Although it is easy to forget his relationship with Roy Keane lasted over a decade, Ferguson obviously prefers leaders by deed like Paul Scholes, Giggs, Vidic.
That being so, is it really surprising he bequeathed Moyes a squad almost devoid of strong characters and natural leaders?
Fergie wanted players he could influence, whom he could mould - for 90 minutes - into mini-versions of himself. Players who would not threaten his mastery of the dressing room.

But where right now Moyes needs players to draw on their internal reserves of fortitude, to take charge of situations, he has a group who have spent their time at Old Trafford suppressing any urges to do that.
It makes no sense to 'blame' Ferguson for United's current predicament. He might have left Moyes a squad of lily-livered shirkers, but those lily-livered shirkers did win a Premier League title not nine months ago.

In any case, is it not enough for him to bring home 25 major trophies as manager - does he have to ensure victory after he's retired, too?

Moyes could have signed more and better players, his tactics could be more progressive, but it probably wouldn't have made much difference. And there's really no point sacking him now.

Fatalistic as it may be, United's disastrous season is an almost inevitable consequence of losing a manager of such monolithic significance.

Having spent two decades defying the sporting law of cycles, United are finally tasting bitter reality.

The pratfalls, the tawdry quality, the despondency, the deep sense of shame - it really is just like watching Mrs Brown's Boys.

Well, I would say give some time to Moyes. The team is generally inherited from SAF with only 1 signing which is Fellaini. Moyes will need time to impose his strategy, style and philosophy into the team. For us Chelsea fans, dear Moyes, take ur sweet time ok? whistling.gif

Now no Drogba dy. cry.gif Our core players left are Lamps, Terry, Cech, Cole. With Mou, we will gain new identity. When our core players play, it gives a spirited display to our side. With time, Cahill, Hazard, Iva and Lukaku will be our new batch of core players. brows.gif

If Terry retires, I think our new core in defence is definitely Iva. He has been with us through all the managers changing. CB or RB, no prob for him. thumbup.gif

If Lamps retires, core for midfield will be Ram/Mikel. Mikel is the most experienced amongst our young stars.

Striker department. Still looking for a new core afta King Drog's departure. sad.gif

New gen of Chelsea backbone:

Defence: Cahill

Midfield: MVG maybe

Striker: Lukaku

Fancy this line up for the next 2,3 season.

Courtois
Azpi Cahill Luiz Shaw(?)
Rami MVG
Oscar Mata Hazard
Lukaku

Look like we have a very good future ahead. The only missing piece is for LB position.

Forget about Super Mario the ONLY ONE. No one can control him not even Mancini his 'father'.

Mourihno? Hmm

This is what Mourn moaned about him

QUOTE
I remember one time when we went to play Kazan in the Champions League. In that match I had all my strikers injured. No Diego Milito, no Samuel Eto’o, I was really in trouble and Mario was the only one.

“Mario got a yellow card in the 42nd minute, so when I got to the dressing room at half-time I spend about 14 minutes of the 15 available speaking only to Mario.

“I said to him: ‘Mario, I cannot change you, I have no strikers on the bench, so don’t touch anybody and play only with the ball. If we lose the ball no reaction. If someone provokes you, no reaction, if the referee makes a mistake, no reaction.'

“The 46th minute – red card!

Hull game is tricky, especially at the KC stadium. We need to be alert. Best is to score 2 goals in the first half, then park the bus. brows.gif

Man Utd at Stamford Bridge. I'll say we have an upper hand based on our recent form. Should not have complacency on Utd based on their current weak run of form. A wounded animal fights back harder. Better to be take precaution, play to our full strength.

Hull game beware. Huddlestone in form. Should go hard on attack and get in the game early. I reckon Mata to start. If he does, hope he plays in the center because he's quite poor out wide especially in Mou's system. If Utd game should influence the team selection vs Hull, I'd give Schrulle a start as well. Hazard started showing signs of fatigue. Ideally we should leave him out of the squad all together vs Tigers, our team is capable of taking care of this game, on paper that is.

Our last two victories resulted from game changing substitutions. Hope against Hull, we wouldn't require the need for that to secure maximum points.

Interesting read.

Liverpool have shown an interest in signing left-back Ryan Bertrand on loan or permanently this month, but Chelsea will attempt to resist either deal. Bertrand is likely to be advised to look at the struggles Moses has faced if Liverpool make a firm move for him. Chelsea believe there are better options than moving to Anfield available to the 24-year-old.

Rodgers has used his Chelsea links throughout his management career to sign players. He took Bertrand on loan at Reading, signed striker Fabio Borini on loan from Chelsea for Swansea City and snapped up Scott Sinclair on a permanent transfer.

Those deals were all successful, but Rodgers also took Josh McEachran on loan to Swansea in 2012 and the young midfielder played only 215 minutes for the Welsh club.

But in an interview while on loan at Middlesbrough last January, McEachran was asked what he learned at Swansea and replied: “Nothing.” When asked for an opinion on Rodgers, he said: “I’ll pass on that.”

Chelsea have a scientific approach to allowing their players out on loan, based on how often they are likely to play and how they can develop at a club and under another manager. It was felt there were better options available to Moses than Liverpool, but Rodgers persuaded the player that he could make a similar impact on his career as he made with Sturridge.

Having pushed for Liverpool over Everton and Southampton, Moses has started just eight games this season and has largely been restricted to late substitute appearances over recent months.

The Nigeria international was hauled off at half-time in the FA Cup victory over League One Oldham, with the match still goalless at that point.

Chelsea are now fearful that Moses will spend the second half of the season stuck on the sidelines or only making cameo appearances at the end of games. He has fallen behind the rejuvenated Raheem Sterling in the Anfield pecking order and is seen very much as a squad player.

Betrand transfer will depend on Shaw and how Mourinho see PvA. I prefer if we stick with Betrand.

good to know that we do something if our player not playing enough on loan. the main aim is for them to develop..not enough playing time can influence form..look at our mata..i do hope things change after this..

I don't see Bertrand moving on loan or Shaw coming in this month. Maybe in the summer it'll happen. If Fulham offer big money deal to buy Bertrand, then it's a different story. Mou might accept it and use the fund to buy Shaw. brows.gif

According to the source, seems like Chelsea is not gonna bring Moses back in the middle of his loan. So I think it's up to Moses to fight for his place. If he is given the chance, Moses is a good player. I remember last season he did put in some nice performance in Europa League, scoring a few goals too. brows.gif

not a good player in my book. a decent player he is, but not up to chelsea quality. was quiet surprise when we bought him. but later understand that he bought due to homegrown quota.

still think the sell of meireles is a loss for our team.

Meireles was superb under AVB and RDM imho. But due to his midfield position, he was up against Lamps. And also bcoz of Lamps, Meireles needs to play deeper which is not his best position. Still remember his screamer goal against Benfica to put us through to the Semi Final last season. drool.gif

He should have been Lamps' perfect replacement. But too bad or Mr Chelsea is not going down without a fight. cool2.gif His transfer to Fenerbahce was really a facepalm moment for me. doh.gif

not a good player in my book. a decent player he is, but not up to chelsea quality. was quiet surprise when we bought him. but later understand that he bought due to homegrown quota.

still think the sell of meireles is a loss for our team.

By the way, how was Meireles in our squad? I think he is a good long passer, great vision and nice long shots.

He didn't fit to be in our pivot?

He fit into our pivot quite nicely I would say. He was a favourite under AVB, started quite some game. AVB even dropped Lamps in favour of Meireles. Hence the old guard (Lamps) make noise to Roman iinm. But since AVB sacked, Meireles lost his starting 11 place. And then with RDM, he is not always the first choice in pivot. If given the chance, he played well. Many rate his performance in the pivot along with Mikel against Barca in our Champions League winning season as 1 of his best performance for us.

At the end of the season, he complained that he was not given enough playing time. Hence his departure. He is really underrated imo. Altho not first choice, but when he puts on the number 16 shirt, he performed like a pro.

he was a better player compare to lampard in our UCL winning season. better combo with ramires as he provide enough cover when ramires do his trademark forward run. really can't brain why we sell him last time. also can't brain why we release kalou and buy moses at that time. doh.gif

Meireles exit was a shocker. Especially with no replacement lined up. Actually we missed him quite a lot as we always have pivot problems after that. He was bought after Modric chase collapsed, did pretty well during his sole season at the Bridge. As for Kalou, cannot say we needed to keep him. He was replaced with Hazard, plus Moses, Marin and Oscar were coming into the side too. Therefore Kalou's exit was imminent.

Fantastic article by Michael Cox. Said it all really.
Mata's lack of defensive ability is really turning into a liability. Mata's central deployment is hurting Chelsea
QUOTE
Benitez's use of Mata centrally against Manchester City left Frank Lampard and John Obi Mikel covering acres of space between themselves and the City trio of Yaya Toure, Jack Rodwell and Javi Garcia, as Graham explained earlier this week.

Another good article which was posted last season. This is realized when our midfield were heavily exposed by fast passing and our two midfielders simply can't cope with that.
This is very similar when Mourinho brought 4-3-3 into premier league in 2004 and dominated the 442 formation. Two midfielders in 442 also can't cope with the 3 midfielders of 433.

But another point of view is that, Mata is an attacking player, why does he need to defend? Why not just leave the responsibility to the midfielder? Non-stop arguments...

then the team will be exposed in the middle because we cant win the ball higher to press the opponenet, mou dont even want the ball to reach our half if possible.

Cech or Courtois?

I definitely go for courtois. That boy is too good to lose. Even the current cech is a level under him. Cech is good but not great as he once was.

I love to have both of them in the team but kind of impossible to do that considering their stature.

For me, I think it's time for Cech to move on, no disrespect to him, Cech has been superb with us. The most clean sheet and least goals conceded Premier League winning season, the penalty shoot out in Allianz Arena. Cech has given his all to the club and have won virtually everything with Chelsea. Carling Cup, FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, Premier League. It's time for him to find a new challenge imho. Now get back Courtois and make him our number 1. brows.gif

But still, if Cech wants to remain a true blues, I welcome him to retire at our club. brows.gif

The Torres goal. I still remember I was clenching my fist and celebrating like a mad man so late in the night. Just me watching the match alone at home. haha.

As for Mata, I can only feel pity for him. Due to Mou's strategy, the best of Mata could not be shown. But imo, give him some time. Mata can still develop his game. Even if he cant, he will make a superb impact sub with his vision and passing. He is always a superb plan B for Mou. The problem is just whether Mata is satisfied with his bit part role. As all of us know, World Cup is looming around the corner. And Spain's national team is filled with superstars.

Meireles is one of my fav chelsea player too... He had been a very good servant of Chelsea... if we resign him it'll be awesome....

And about the news/rumors on Ballotelli signing with us, it will be a good news for us... But signing super mario will means the departure of Torres.... as I think Chelsea will keep Lukaku.... Eto'o is Mou's favourite....

Totally agree with the bolded part. Finally, we beat Barca. Not with some away goal rule (like the 1 scored by Iniesta a few seasons ago), but we beat them! notworthy.gif

Anyway, plans to sign Lewandowski is now all but gone. Seems like Bayern has already pre-signed him last summer.

And the Bavarian giants (Bayern Munich) confirmed they had reached an agreement with the Poland striker, who has put pen to paper on a five-year deal from July 1, 2014.

A statement on Bayern's Twitter feed said: '#FCBayern have signed Robert Lewandowski (25)! The striker has signed a 5-year contract until 2019.'

Kevin De Bruyne to Wolfsburg should be announced tomorrow, according to several sources.

There has been no official announcement involving Chelsea's kevin De Bruyne, but it appears that his deal to Wolfsburg is nearly complete. A pair of credible journalists that have reliable connections to either De Bruyne or Wolfsburg are now tweeting that we can expect an announcement in the very near future:

Neither of the pair could confirm any details of the deal, though Harmeling seems to believe it is a loan. Whether that's a loan with some sort of option to buy is uncertain, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's the case.

It sounds like we'll need to be watching for some sort of announcement tomorrow, while crossing our fingers that the Blues didn't do anything foolish. Here's hoping...

Matic seeking Premier League move, according to Portuguese media.

Inter Milan have supposedly set a deadline for teams interested in signing Fredy Guarin and Xabi Alonso just extended his Real Madrid contract, but there now appears to be a little movement on Chelsea's other rumored midfield target. According Goncalo Lopes of Diário de Notícias, Nemanja Matic has his heart set on a move to the Premier League.

With the financial prob Benfica have, I think Matic might just be sold. Maybe back to us? brows.gif

If we want to get matic then most probably kdb will be sold.
I dun think is easy to drop cech but it is also not easy to let Courtois go.
Sigh. But for future I would rather have Courtois on our side.

Cech is just 31, Courtois is 21. hmm.gif

If we hang on to Cech, we can mostly be guaranteed that Cech will remain loyal to us and maybe will end his career with us. A goalkeeper can play all the way until he is 40. Tbh, Cech has been in and around the top 5 goalkeeper in the world through out his days in Chelsea. It's better to keep 1 of the top 5 goalkeeper in the world with us right?

Courtois, if we recall him and give him the no. 1 spot. The question is, can he remain loyal to us and provide his master class goal keeping skills to us until he is 40? Nowadays, money is everything. Courtois might just give us 5 years and say 'Look, I wan to challenge myself in a different league' or 'I wan to play for Barca/Madrid/Milan'. Courtois is really the next big thing imho. It is vital that we hold on to him, but he is also pushing very hard to be our number 1.

Maybe this is the dilemma faced by Mou and Roman. To let go 1 of the old guards who has been performing year after year and also being very loyal to us, OR, recall Courtois, a young rising star which might just leave us after 5 or maybe 10 years?

Just my 2 cents. icon_idea.gif

Interesting read.

Cech has been an unbelievable servant for the Blues, with 10 years of near-flawless work between the sticks. But he must be allowed to go out on a high, with Blues fans remembering him for his brilliance, not calling for his head when his joints start creaking in a couple of years’ time.

Chelsea cannot be allowed to lose the star of the next decade to squeeze another few seasons out of Cech. Mourinho must look at the bigger picture – sometimes there’s just no room for sentiment in football.

For any Chelsea fan, it will be difficult to see an undisputed legend in Cech – who has just equalled Peter Bonetti’s club record of 208 clean sheets – relegated to the sidelines or even moved on to pastures new.

The Blues have enjoyed the most successful spell in their 109-year history with Cech at the heart of it, along with John Terry, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Ashley Cole.

One of those stalwarts has already waved goodbye to west London (and is sure to receive an incredible reception when he returns with Galatasaray in March), while two are likely to move on come the end of the season.

There’s no doubting it’s the end of an era at Stamford Bridge, but the club must look to the future – and that future is Courtois.

For me, unless someone offer good money to buy CECH else i would definitely keep him over COURTOIS. Reason is simply, GK is a position that experience means a lot and why gamble on a new player if u have one proven and really good one already ? Or just bring him back next season and let him fight it out with CECH. Can do like RM now, LOPEZ for league, CASSILAS for cup and CL. laugh.gif

Else just sell COURTOIS for some good price, if can put a buy back clause.

I don't think Courtois want another loan spell beyond this season. He himself stated that he want to sort his future asap. It either we keep him or lose him for good. Buyback clause might be the best option if we are to sell him.

buy back option is risky.

but i understand the situation.

there only a few top european clubs without excellent goalkeeper..

but if i have to choose one. cech anyday.

i was depressed for a few days after we let cudicini go..if cech go..dunno how i will react..hahaha

Very big decision for Mou to make. Let's see if he can get Courtois future sorted out.

For me, I hope Courtois is loaned out to a PL club next 2 season. Just to get some exposure to games in PL 1st. La Liga and PL is different imo. Just look at De Gea, he came from La Liga too. It took him some time to adapt to the PL. thumbup.gif

Mourinho on KDB: "The interest is big from the club, even bigger from the player."

Mourinho on KDB: "A fee is not agreed, but I believe that between our club and the other club we will reach an agreement"

Mourinho: Probably he wants to go so much that maybe it's good option to let KDB go in a very good deal for #CFC by financial point of view

Jose Mourinho on Hazard: "I'm not worried because if his value was around £40m when #CFC bought him, if two years later he's 2 or 3 times better"

Mourinho on Hazard: "Our tag is not to sell, plus the crazy amount that he can value in this moment, I think no chance that Eden can leave"

Eden Hazard's 'evolution' paves way for Kevin de Bruyne's Chelsea exit, says Jose Mourinho

He has undergone a “fantastic evolution”, according to Mourinho. “He was not voted the worst, but was known as one of the worst trainers,” added the Portuguese. “Now he is a good professional in training. He has improved in every aspect. He works very hard for the team, shows initiative, doesn’t disappear and wants to be influential all game. He’s the kind of player we want. He is now playing Champions League knockout phase for the first time and going to the World Cup. So at 23, to be where he is, he can only expect it to get better.

But I dare say Hazard is playing very well at the moment. And he did improve compared to last season under Benitez. This kid will be our next talisman, our creator in the team. He has all the potential to reach new highs and to be as good as Ronaldo imho. He can score goals, he can assist, his technique on the ball is good, dribbling is fantastic.

Since we r not looking at bolstering the current squad... I hope mvg comes back in the team n contribute greatly in this 2nd half of the season...pivot is WHR we lack credible competition n cover...so I hope he can boost our midfield...n I heard romeu is doing well n gaining reputation in LA liga....let's see whether he gets sold or come back next season for the pivot role...

Please keep moses n use him sparingly....there's no place for him in Chelsea lineup... Players like Mata, wilshere n Ramsey, schurrle is only good enuf as Chelsea benchwarmer...

I think what he is saying is dat IF Ramsey and Wilshere is playing for us, they are only benchwarmer. icon_rolleyes.gif

Well, IF Ramsey and Wilshere is in our team. I can't see Wilshere dethroning Oscar as the AM in our starting 11, Oscar is a better all rounder player. Ramsey, maybe can be our starter in the pivot position. tongue.gif

Anyway, any news from BR whether he really dislike Moses that much? Sterling has been missing goal chances, I wonder why Moses are not given chance to play on the wings. sweat.gif Moses need some run of games lik Sturridge.

I beg to differ..See no reason why Ramsey and Wilshere are included...Not that they play for Chelsea...

It seems that he was suggesting, "Please keep moses and play him because we have people like Mata, wilshere , ramsey and Schurrle already warming the bench"...I sense a lack of knowledge...

Haha, that was for fun. On another note, yes it is true Sterling has been missing goal chances but Moses isn't doing himself any favour either. He lacks passion, desire and his attitude on pitch was hopeless for the past few games... His downfall started when he screw up all those tap-in chances, followed by lack of workrate...and ended up no creativity whatsoever from him in the last few matches. Horrible runs, horrible passing... The last few matches, he make too much back passes.

Sterling, on the other hand, despite the poor finishing, has been execellent. Do note, I am not saying this because I am bias and that he is Liverpool player. However, if anyone watches our game, they should come to realize that Sterling's movement has been a lot better than Moses. He creates chances, linked well with Suarez. His workrate is good and above all, his attitude on pitch has been much better than Moses who seems slacking in every match.

The truth is at this very moment,Moses cant even do well in a match against Oldham and was substituted at half time. That speaks how he is doing right now... If he didn't improve, the likes of Aspas and Alberto who have all improved their performance, will definitely get the nod ahead of him...

This type of games is well suited for Ba. Big and physical, can cause trouble to Hull's defender. Davies, Chester all have good body strength, our 3 amigos are having trouble competing with them.

Why isn't Ba on the bench? Preparing to be loaned out? doh.gif

Don't think etoo offer much of a threat. I was hoping for ba on the bench. Ba can do much better than torres and etoo against this kind of opponent. Since no ba, I opt for sub mata on, keep the formation.

Just an idea. Why not put on another striker, Eto. Let Torres and Eto make runs in between the 3 Center Backs of Hull, then Hull's 3 CB will play tighter, then gaps between the Wing Backs and CB will appear, then Hazard can fully be utilize in this situation. hmm.gif

1) Hazard is currently playing very very well, his individual brilliance is opening up the game for us. He is bringing a positive auro to the team whenever he scores. Whenever he scores, we seems to play with an up tempo after that.

2) Torres scored back to back. Southampton, now Hull City. It's a bit premature, but I do sure hope the Liverpool Torres is back!

3) Clean sheet. Cahill and Terry is proving to be the best CB partnership we have.

4) Mata. I'm sorry mate. Oscar and co are winning games for us. U'll have to wait for ur chances.

5) Bring on United!

Positioning matters, u dont expect player to make a difficult pass to him just for the sake of finding him. While ETO movement offer himself to receive the ball, drag player to him, make space for others and then do a clean pass. TORRES just dont do this enough and most of the times he was not able to make a clean pass and lose the ball. But well today his score, i got no complain, he can be invisible for 89min but if he keep scoring every game he deserve to be first 11 tongue.gif

Actually I'm a Mata's fan as well, especially after his performance last season. The goal against Arsenal. Superb wei. But Mou, this genius manager is proving me wrong. I have ntg bad to say about Mou and Oscar. notworthy.gif Only can respect's Mou's decision as long as it is winning us games. rclxms.gif

editted. It was the volley against Man Utd. tongue.gif and also the long range screamer against Arsenal in this season's Capitol One Cup. brows.gif

I have to agree with this. This lineup is the closest thing we have to a formidable side. Still in the works though. We still can't seem to create clear cut chances and convert them to goals. Until we are able to do that, we'll have to rely on industry and individual brilliance.

Conversely, that very issue could be fixed, or at least improved with the inclusion of Mata, while sacrificing the defensive work rate. Another thing is that Willian have grown on me a lot. Out wide, Hazard and Willian have the spots wrapped up. He's quick, strong, good on the ball, hardworking defensively. It's not too bad of a buy I would say. This means only way Mata will play is in place of Oscar. I have to say Oscar is not been at his best attacking wise. We are all used to his high standard with passing and work rate, which he delivers on a weekly basis, but he has not been overly brilliant. He's my favourite player and I want him improve even more. Wouldn't mind if Mata gets to give it a go in that position, however Jose is more than aware of the trade-off of qualities involved.

Btw,

No one mentioned Luiz's free kick now is getting deadlier and deadlier.

Like the pundit, Barnes had said "Luiz's beach ball".

Luiz can definitely hit a nice shoot, he has also shown us several times before. But this season, he has still yet to score a goal iinm. His freekicks....doh.gif . We need Mata's free kick. The current starting 11 does not have a free kick specialist. tongue.gif

I think his free kicks are pretty good. That technique doesn't have a good conversion rate, but it still a good option from certain areas. I think his open play shots are quite bad, almost like he's trying to use the same technique on a moving ball / while running. Resulted in a few pretty outrageous trajectories.

got this from a chelsea fanpage

3 matches in 2014. All of them away from home. All wins. Without conseeding a single goal, making that 3 clean sheets. 7 goals forward, 2 of them from Fernando Torres on 2 starts. Eden Hazard was the Man of The Match again.

next sunday, our first home game in 2014 and up against man utd who just won 2-0. but seeing our current form, i have no doubt that we will be the one snatching 3 points from them.

regarding free kick, yes i agree that we have no proper free kick taker now... only luiz and lamps are the better ones.. oscar sometimes (when lamps or luiz are not in the field) but all of them are nowhere near drog's level

'Petr is almost 10 years playing at the top and there has been clean sheet after clean sheet,' said the Chelsea manager.

'At this moment he beats the record of Mr Bonetti but I think probably next year he will beat the record of the Premier League.

'He becomes a historic figure in the Premier League because all his career has been here since 2004. Also playing with Chelsea he has a lot of appearances and the best stage for a goalkeeper I think is between 30 and 35.'

For me,Courtiuos hv to wait for few years more ..

don't forget Rooney might be ready to face us also. Knowing MU, i wont write off their chance against us. the upperhand is our, willian and hazard will play a crucial role in that match.

Luiz is playing an important role in dm.
I can't wait what the happy one will bring us.
anyway our home record is the 2nd best in epl.

Kagawa played quite well in the no. 10 role for Man Utd. Ramires/Luiz will need to mark him tightly. And also I predict a busy day for Azpi as he will need to clamp down on Januzaj.

and hope they don start chicharito , that lad always score against us.

Welbeck is on fire too btw.

If we continue our good game, definitely we can win them.

Januzaj, Kagawa and Welbeck are their most dangerous players

a.cole quite vulnerable for me. doesnt play convincingly for the past few matches. last night performance was ok though. expecting januzaj flying on the right. hazard might limit januzaj movement though, since he need to help rafael in defense.

hopefully rooney couldnt make it in time for the match. im confident with cahill + terry handling wellbeck but not so sure bout rooney.

Drama at St.James' Park.

Anita's Tiote's wonderstrike incorrectly ruled out for offside.

Tiote strike actually. Great strike only to be disallow by a ref mistake.
