Hi there!

I'm looking for a ductless/recirculation cooking hood and induction hob. No budget, but don't require the best in the market.

Additional info:
- Staying in condo and having an open kitchen, so preferably DC motor so that it's quiter and people in living room can't hear the motor.
- I only cook simple food i.e. soup, pasta, stir fry vege, once in a blue moon frying (most likely will buy airfryer because I hate oil splatter).
- Prefer T-design, something minimalist.
- Must be easy to clean and maintain.

Can I know your opinion on this 2 cooking hoods?
1. Electrolux ECT9740S (https://www.electrolux.com.my/appliances/cooker-hoods/ect9740s/)
- Pros: Not sure AC/DC motor, but not as noisy as other ductless hoods and very easy to clean the mesh filters.

2. Robam 76H1S Slim Cooker Hood (https://my.robamworld.com/ultra-slim-hood-product/)
- SA kept recommending this, and told me many condo owners purchased this.
- Pros: DC motor so it's very quiet. Carbon filter change 1.5 years or so. Can hide filter in the top cabinet.
- Cons: Don't like the design, very bulky looking. And, I'll need to wipe the front and bottom every day because it's close to the hob.

Thank you so much.

if u only have these 2 options then i would go for ROBAM, Electrolux low noise most likely due to low suction power.

However if u use ROBAM, u nd to have cabinet to cover top part if not it will b super ugly. above of ur cabinet mus have a big hole for air to come out, so u cant do full height cabinet.

If u dont nd too high performance and maximize cabinet space, i suggest Fujioh FR-MS1990

Thank you for your reply. I'll research on Fujioh brand.

Re: ROBAM
I'll have a top cabinet so I can cover the top part of the filter. Noted on the big hole for air circulation.

What about your recommendations? I scoured through 10+ pages and saw that you highly recommend Fotile JQG9031 and another Fotile which I can't remember. Are these ductless ranges as well? If good, I don't mind getting chimney hood and sacrifice top cabinet because I have sufficient storage space.

If u use fotile jqg9031 can also install filter like robam but i advise dont do cabinet to cover. Robam no choice if dont cover very ugly. Fotile comes with stainless steel cover d, so the filter will b hidden inside

If u dont need extra cabinet space and u wan better performance then no nd c Fujioh d but u can consider other model FOTILE EMG9008. Robam and Fotile JQG9031 both are originally ducted hood but converted to Recycle by adding the filter at the air outlet. EMG9008 on the other hand is specially designed for Recycle and filter is much easier to replace. Hard to explain detail, drop by my shop c c n compare ezier to understand

Note : i dont sell RObam ya

Hi all,

After 8 years of using my stove and hob, it’s time for me to change it.

I have an issue with my stove counter top… the depth of the counter top is 580mm and the cut out is 832mm x 470mm.
Current stove is electrolux EGT 9637CK (894mm x 508mm).

I am interested in rinnai stove rb93ug… the cut out size is suitable, however, the clearance from the wall to the cutout is only 40mm (rinnai’s diagram shows it requires min 87mm 😔). In my current electrolux stove manual, it states it requires min 55mm clearance from the wall to the glass top (i measured and it’s only 30mm). The kitchen installers made a mistake and still installed it without telling me. I only found out when i wanted to change my stove! 😞

Can anyone advice me if i could still use rinnai rb93ug?

I would also like to change my hood (current hood electrolux efc926sa). Can I install fotile amg9007i?

Dear all, for those "holiday home", is there any risk of having cockroaches or lizards making their way and dying inside the exhaust chute of kitchen hood?

Dead lizards, especially big ones really stink. Is it advisable to put a additional layer of finer mesh over the existing "grill" on the outlet? I understand it creates a backpressure.

Hi zheilwane, want to get your expertise on this.

I just got my amg9007i installed last week and realised the left and right flap doesn’t move when I press either L or R button. Do you know what’s the issue with it? Is it a defect?

Im waiting for fotile customer support to call me on Monday but wonder if you know of a simple fix? Thank you.

Is it common practice here to sell customers the display unit of a gas stove instead of the originally sealed, brand-new one? huh.gif

usually if display seller will inform display and usually at a discounted price. If u suspect seller is giving u display unit, u can jus call them to clarify or talk nicely to them, say u not comfortable with the unseal packing, can u replace one for me.

Not necessary not sealed = display, usually display will have scratches and dust.

for example,
Sometimes for far delivery or urgent cases, my staff will open to check ensure no breakages only send, random check. Like from Kl to Seremban so far or Subang, sometimes we do open check first especially ceramic items and mirrors.

many customers are worried weather slanted hoods or L hoods are suitable for tall pots, here are some photos for you to decide. Ofcoz if u use tall pots very often, best choice will be T-shape hood

Anybody knows if the published cut out dimensions have any extra tolerance? My cut out is 64cm length and the published cut out dimension for the Midea hob I want is 64.5cm. I wonder if it can still fit?

if ur table is concrete top with tiles, may b not straight line, some areas could b more less than 64. So better dont risk, unless u r DIY type can self grind then ok.

If not, discuss with seller to manually measure and in case deliver d cant fit, can change other models or not

Where to buy gas burner spare parts for my Zanussi 2 hob burner? Or can I swap the old ones for any other brand as long as the measurements are correct?

In website they claim to have 2500m3/h suction (do not trust catalog suction power) check the user manual for IEC or European Standards

Here are the info i got from Vatti usermanual
https://vattimalaysia.com/wp-content/upload...TION-MANUAL.pdf

Vatti V993 claims a suction power of 2500m3/h but in actual based on EU standard is only 1320m3/h, while Fotile claims to have a suction power of 1930m3/h (much lower). However, using the same EU standards to measure suction power, surprisingly, FOTILE is stronger with 1390m3/h vs 1320m3/h. Max Static pressure is also lower compared to Fotile

Thatz y when buying hood, cannot jus rely on catalog figures to compare performance.

More on design

Yeah the specs are too powderful compared with the home basic needs.

Expensive?
