don waste money in getting 3 cooking zones unless Feng Sui say must buy. Fotile two cooking zones width is 750mm which is just nice, while RInnai 3 zones only 710mm, smaller than 2 zones, super narrow, u cant use all 3 zones at the same time.

if interested in getting FOTILE, can visit us in Pavillion Bukit jalil this week 10 - 12 Oct (MyHome Expo), drop by early for more free stuff from organizer + vouchers. DO mention LYN member for good deals without haggling.

For Performance can get full set FOTILE, For budget wise can also consider livinox electric hobs mix fotile hood, much cheaper

I am moving into a condo with piped in gas. While surveying for a gas hob, I was informed by the sales person that not all hobs can be used for this. As I won't be having a built-in oven below the hob, he also recommended 'top-air' type to avoid gas shut off if open the cabinet door below while cooking due to sudden air pressure drop, compared o bottom-air hobs. I have experienced this many times in my current place. All this is good, but it narrowed down the choices and I was left with a Teka hob with only 3.4kW. I am worried this may be a bit low for fried rice, etc.

So looking for more options now.

Hi all, any recommendation on hoods with good suction, easy maintenance as my mom cooking creates lots of oily smokes?
Not too expensive, preferable below RM1.5K if possible, can max out to RM2K. No preference on brand.
Thanks!!

For those who are looking for Recycle hood and you want to cover your hood with kitchen cabinet, then u need to consider Fujioh FR-FS2290. If you are buying a Chimney hood like this and cover with cabinet, the problem is your cabinet door will b shaking as wind is trying to blow out. Chimney hoods blow wind upward into the cabinets, cannot do FULL HEIGHT and must leave a big hole at the top of your cabinet for wind to come out. If you wan to do full height then your best choice is Fujioh FR-FS2290

hi all!

i am currently considering these two hob/hood set

- senz + rinnai
https://shp.ee/c35w75e

- rubine set
https://shp.ee/ytm34up

my criteria:
- ducting hose
- self auto clean
- no need change filter etc
- rarely heavy cook, so 1400 m3h should be sufficient?
- 2 burner hob
- budget under RM2k, preferrably under RM1.5k 😁

thing is the rubine set got charcoal filter.. which i am a bit confused.. i thoughy ducting hose no need to use charcoal filter? can someone please show me some lighttss? 😅

Dear all, for those "holiday home", is there any risk of having cockroaches or lizards making their way and dying inside the exhaust chute of kitchen hood?

Dead lizards, especially big ones really stink. Is it advisable to put a additional layer of finer mesh over the existing "grill" on the outlet? I understand it creates a backpressure.

I had the same thought but I think the chances are very rare because there is normally a mesh/filter of some sort blocking the entry of insects to the fan and other parts so there is nothing for them to eat. And when I opened my very old style hood to clean, there were no signs of dead bugs or droppings which I was expecting. But if you are still worried about it, there are kitchen vent covers which have a mesh that can prevent lizards and adult roaches from going in. I bought one online but haven't installed yet.

I am worried lizards will enter, then got trapped inside the "maze" - it can't find its way out - and dies inside.

Hmm, I didn't think of putting a cover over the vent when leaving the house vacant for a stretch. Thanks for the idea.

I also checked the hood duct and it was clean, was expecting it to be sticky with oil and holding alot of lizard/insect droppings but there was nothing. Just cover the vent with mesh and you should be ok.

Went to the Home Expo @ Sunway Pyramid yesterday, able to see the Robam 76H1S Slim Cooker Hood in action, the SA says the paint used piano paint ( I think paint that is focused on making the color looks glossy and sleek appearance, they say if the color is white it will never change to yellow ), the cooker had has 6th level, the noise for the 1st level is not noticeable, the noise for 3rd level is noticeable but not loud, the 6th level is quite loud, only going to use till 3rd level for moderate cooking so I am okay, the filter is cleanable easily using wipe cloth, its also able to be dissambled,

During walking around I able to found other cooker with the same pattern of slim that is HAFELE ( german brand ) T SLIM HOOD DC MOTOR ( refer attached image ) this one is super quite cause using DC Silent Motor and it got 9 level of suction, it is bigger than the robam one, and this one cannot be dissasembled, its using glass thus easier to clean outside

Hi all, can someone explain if the L-shaped hoods actually perform better or I'm fine with just the T shaped hoods. Appreciate the feedback.
