Dear all,

For Fotile AMG9007i (refer to photo), recommended installation height is 285mm - 325mm from the surface of the hob. I'm using induction hob so the 50mm pan support height is not required. Installer suggests 300mm but I remember someone here said to go for max allowable. I prefer max allowable to avoid any boiling liquid/oil splashing (imagine the frying process when cooking sambal, for example).
Higher height is also good if I should switch to gas hob in future.

Q1) should I go for 300mm as suggested by installer, or 325mm (my preference)?

Q2) any harm if I go even higher, say 350mm? I understand the higher the hood, the less it smoke it can capture.

Thank you.

1) If u r using induction hob, u can consider to make ur table top higher too, standard 850 to 900mm to offset the wok support height

2) For hood installation, i would prefer max height in case u got any tall pots. so 325mm

waiting new stock arrive to test, old model now comes with optional add on ventilation extension, so if ur cabinet space is big enough can slot in

*
Functionality has it with that new ventilation extension but cant be built in into cabinet i supposed?
anyway, this new model coming out is also got placing on top and not flush into the cabinets right?

NEW ventilation extension only available for old model, not sure can fit to new model or not as haven arrive yet the stock.

cannot flush with cabinet, it is meant for table top, so if u wan to place inside cabinet, side and top also nd to leave gap for ventilation

depend what brand u buying and the kW usage.

in general
Hood confirm 13amp whatever brand

Oven is built in in general 15amp, table top 13amp

Induction in general wire to wire connection not using plug, some brands lower spec with power sharing low kW can use 13amp.

u c kW usage divide 240 = amp

example 3000 / 240 = 12.5amp add 10% for fluctuation = 13.75amp so use 15 amp

Hi, I'm looking for induction hob and hood for a small kitchen. Budget around RM4k+/-

Not particular about brand but more to reliability and after sales service. A simple induction hob with 2 burners and hood with decent suction and quiet. Plus point for looking good too.

Are there any good recommendations? Just started looking around and overwhelmed with the number of options in the market.

Thanks in advance.

Hood wise, good looking, good performance and easy maintenance, FOTILE AMG9007i. However, their induction hob is quite exp. U can consider mix brand

Fotile hood + teka hob, price will b rm 4k++ less than 5k

Any recommendation for electric hob + hood within 2k budget? I'm very light in cooking. I'm ok with mix brand but make sure it comes with good performance with DC motor, auto clean and high suction power.

How about Vees brand? I'm now very interested in Vees Cooker Hood DH-109AC + Vees HL-400K Electric Hybrid Cooker. Both can get around RM2099. Any thoughts?

cant do a video on how to clean bcoz no existing hood but done a video how to dismantle for u, recommended to get someone to assist you and also cover your hob or even better remove gas hob first before cleaning.

*
Finally have free time of ~4 hours to dismantle and do a thorough cleaning of Fotile JQG9009T

Require DIY skill and that front panel piece is the biggest and heaviest, with 3x wire attachment as in the video.

Few things I notice:
- even use soft brush & hot water (not yet apply soap/degreaser), some of the black paint peel off from the impaler-fan, the front removable black metal-grille
- The amount of oil/grease at the bottom inside panel can fill up quarter bottle peanut butter jam shocking.gif
- There is still a lot of grease stuck inside the upper hood towards the ducting, just spray some degreaser, spray with hot water (remember have something to collect the water & oil down below), wipe a bit only.
- I didn't take down the ducting or clean the upper hood.
- The centre impaler nut, was brownish in colour. Clean as much as possible but still some thin layer of yellowish stain, good enough already.

Tips: Easier to dip in hot water to wash off the oil/grease before degreasing it.

End result - looks like new. But you can see some black paint peel off already.

i got customers do like this too, so far no issue. As long as u have a divider separating the oven and gas tank but u nd to inform carpenter to allow more air to ventilate the oven and gas stove, nd add louver

I also just visited and purchased from buildershardware thanks to recommendations in earlier posts, and very satisfied.

The staff there was able to articulate the differences between each brand & models while considering my cabinet setup and budget.
