Dear all, I have shortlisted these 2 models. The hood will be boxed up by cabinet.

T type:
Con: easy to knock the head, since I am using induction stove and max recommended distance of hood is 700mm from the stove. 700mm + 850mm (tabletop height) is rather low.
Pros: cheaper with higher airflow, quieter and lower motor wattage, cleaner although traditional look
Sloped:
Con: unsure of its performance as I've never used before.
Will it easily kena oil splash, say when deep frying something?
Pros: less likely to knock on it?
More modern design?
Which one is easier to clean and maintain? Any thoughts? TIA.
Easier to clean or not is a matter of design regardless which type you choose.
I think no matter what type of stove, the height rule probably the same. It is all about how the air flows inside the kitchen. Too far the cooking vapor get carried away before being suck into chimney. The windows too close, the hood is sucking external air but not the cooking vapor.
Noise is related to suction power which is depends on fan type and size. As you can see, the smaller fan makes more noise and bigger one
My hob is both induction and ceramic. I use modular type. So each one is independent. If anything wrong with power supply, I still have other hobs to use

I have been using the slant type hood. Most of the time I use speed 1 (very quiet) and have good suction. The kitchen cabinet is clean and never felt oily due to oil vapor. Well, my hood vents out air, not circulating anyway. Been using this for almost 20 years and extremely satisfied with it.
