dear sifu's.

recently i encountered this wifi issue while overseas. since i have no data roaming plan, i solely rely on wifi to get connected. my problem are as follows.

1. connected to hotel wifi, then when i come back from sight seeing, cannot connect. always stuck at "Obtaining IP address...". Restart phone, forget network doesnt help. What worked was the hotel had a power outage which restarted the router.
Obviously it's nothing to do with your phone. Probably the router is congested, dhcp full, lease time not refreshed etc.

2. same as above but happened at a cafe. this time was "connected" but nothing loads (facebook etc. etc.)

why does this happen? i know its simple as restart router, but sometimes, i dun have control over that..
additional note: my wife's note 2 (which was my old phone b4 switchin to z1) could connect properly without any issues...  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

Just joined Flickr, cause I was bored. Anyway, I uploaded a few photos of my phone. Let me know what you think. All of these photos are shot by Nikon 1 J2.

It was just me messing around with the white balance settings in my camera, I find it quite decent for my eyes actually. It is really too much?

Well, I also own a purple Z1 and that is why I can tell if the colour is off. If I am not mistaken you set your WB to be very cool?

At the moment no. But it happened when it was the most crucial when i was overseas.

Doesnt happen at home thank god. But what annoyed me was that la, my wifes note connected without any fuss. Her iphone 4s which is idle, only used for gaming also connect.

My z1 pula cannot connect. Somemore i needed it to whatsapp my parents back here as i have an emergency..

Oh well. Bite the bullet

Can a current owner of Z1 tell me how do you replace the battery? Is it replaceable in the first place or is it fixed like that? My friend bought a HTC One Max and it cost hime RM170 for non ori battery from normal shop. He says ori battery can cost more than that. I like the phone, I just don't like the non-removable battery part.

If you like to swap batteries like the old Nokia ways, maybe the Z1 is not your kind of phone. You have to use a powerbank method.

Way too much blue. For example, I have my PC on default colour settings which is already less blue than your phone. Once I use a hardware screen calibrator, it removes even more blue from my monitor. The results is photos of people look more natural.

There's research on the effects of blue light that makes your eyes tired, even affecting your ability to sleep. I started reading about this when I came across this app called Bluelight Filter for android.

Don't forget there's SMS on your phone. Small money to pay during emergencies. Or use your wife's iPhone.

The volume is naturally quiet even at max settings. Unless you root your phone and install a Volume Boost mod.

Do you guys remember this that I have posted earlier?

I believe the " - number" series is not about removed apps. It is from Youtube. The more I used it the more this series appear.

Anyone encountered a problem with the magnetic charger dock? Sent mine for repair since its under warranty. The dock became loose after wear and tear. Unable to charge unless i take off the adapter and lay it flat. The magnetoc surface seems to be out of position.

Just bought it 3 months ago bundled with phone. sad.gif

I thought powerbank method will kill the battery faster? I like the camera of th Z2. S5 can still swap batteries. Wait to see which one has the best review though

I want to buy the "support bracket" for the Z1 dock. Spare Part 30B.

It's showed at the bottom of the support bracket of the charging dock for Z1.

Please PM me.

Thanks !

I've not heard about powerbanks killing batteries faster. The salesman who sold me my Z1 at Pyramid told me removable batteries tend to swell after time. The built in ones are the best. I don't know if he told me that to convince me to buy the phone, but I'm inclined to believe him. My 4 year old iPhone is still on its first battery and it still lasts. My old Nokia batteries all swell after a while, even to the point of breaking the catch on the cover.
